How Expensive is India to Visit? 💰🇮🇳 | Solo Travel India | India Vlog (Ep. 45)

  • The cost of backpacking India can be rather inexpensive. I say 'can be' because it depends on your travel style.
    Do you want to stay in the nice hotels, eat at the nice restaurants, and travel in the nice class of trains and buses? Or do you want to travel on a budget and utilize the cheaper options that are available?
    Tip: Always check with random people about the correct price before you purchase something. Yes, this requires extra effort, but, you will generally save a lot of money because you know how much an item should cost.
    So many times, especially in the tourist areas, Indian sellers try to cheat you out of a lot of money because they think you don't know the local price. Do your homework first, and then surprise them! :) Always ask someone who is not at all connected to the business that you want to make a purchase from.
    Is India expensive to visit? No. If you live in a western or European country, generally, the cost of living in India is significantly lower than what you are used to - allowing you to travel for an extended period of time. But, there are expensive options with much higher standards.
    I hope this helps!

    I travelled India for 2 months - mostly north but some south and honestly it was so life changing.
    India is probably the cheapest place I have ever travelled around :)

      Please do visit the South of India. It's really good. There's lots of places to visit and the people are really cool. As far as my opinion goes people down south do not cheat foreigners at least not as much as in the North, but that's just my opinion.

    According to the Economist Intelligence Unit's 2019 Worldwide Cost of Living Survey , India is cheapest countries to live in the world because everything is subsidized by government. But it will not be the case for tourists but still it's cheap.
    West india is expensive developed and while northeast will be very cheap and full of greenery. South in laidback peaceful tourist destination while north is adventurous. Northern most region is extremely cold and least populated part of india.
    Traveling in india without using various APPS is a very bad decision for anyone.

    what do you think of dating in india? I am single and i know india is all about arranged marriages. One reason why i have not considered moving there but the cost of living is tempting

    • @Edgesofearth
      @Edgesofearth  Před 4 lety +2

      - Yeah, dating in india, as a male, is really difficult! The best chances you will have will be if you stay in the tourist areas...where people are a bit more westernized. The moment you get out of these areas, a man hanging out with a woman before marriage is super taboo.
      Dating is definitely more difficult here than most other Asian countries. The culture is quite different.

I have a friend that went to India and he went to a 1 star hotel ( he’s acually a big guy and goes to the gym) he was jumped and robbed. Your not as safe as you think in India. 3 star or more is definitely a good rule to help avoid anything like this.
