Fall can be a time for patience. You might get lucky with water, but most of the time, you have to wait for the winter to bring back the rain.
Last Autumn, Chile was blessed with heavy rains almost every week, something we had not seen in a while, which brought the home rivers to healthy levels and epic times for kayaking.
