They should remake this alarm clock with Charles' voice. "Wakey, wakey! It's-a time to leave dreamland!"
Missed opportunity to use "Subcon" instead of dreamland, since Subcon is a reference to SMB2 (or Super Mario USA) and that game's events were all a dream.

Is there anyway to fix the speaker in clarity or is that how it always sounded?
It’s probably how it always sounded. I could replace the speaker with another one but it may not make any difference.

it's a low quality recording on the chip; the speaker is fully functional

Didn’t know that the iPhone keeps the face recognition camera on when you look at your phone normally. I guess keeps display from timing out. You can see the blinking light in the beginning when he is reading off his phone.

Awesome video but I would have liked to see you iron the box and see how it turned out. Don’t sell yourself short. Repairing the box counts as a repair too and totally makes this worthy of the challenge imo.

The pitch was lower when set to high. It was most likely the batteries.

I think I have a Game Boy alarm clock somewhere, either way, it isn't as cool as this!
Nintendo sure messed up with this isn’t an alarm clock supposed to have the time visible from more than a foot away.
Lots of these sorts of clocks in the early 1990s had a thunderberds one with thunderbird 2, takes me back

I enjoyed watching all of the eBay challenges. eBay takes too much, esp on auctions. But glad you were able to at least get some good use on the items you fixed and gave away. Looking forward to the next one, maybe for next challenge, fix things people donate and sell on eBay? That way, it's all profit.

isopropyl alcohol is very bad for the speaker shroud. I have to think by having watched the other's channels that they would not have submitted this. the others have had to re-order parts and wait for themselves, so how is it that you did not have enough time to submit something else, that was actually, not broken?

That moment when @vince realise the he bought a so sofisticated mechanical watch with tiny components and spent more than a week fixing it and finaly sold as faulty for spares or repair.

I saw a joke article/post years ago about this thing on i-mockery.com that went through the good the bad and the ugly, memorabilia from Nintendo in the 80s and early 90s. They mentioned how cringe worthy this alarm clocks voice sounded, but I never heard how hilariously bad it was until now.

Hi, I have a 1989 gameboy that has been looked after and kept in a carry case ... it’s just stopped working totally dead no light with fresh batteries .... could you fix it for a video maybee?

[insert your mail code thingy here] but I’d only try that if I’d be willing to maybe loose my Gameboy. But yeah, that’s all the info I can provide for now

Hi guys, im currently trying to repair an xbox one controller trigger. The spring that pushes it back into place isnt sitting right, i bought a replacement and put it on but it still just spins round that bar. Is anyone able to give me some advice on what im missing?

Tommy Lambert - The Suffolk MadMan It’s probably caused by two things. The first is the cheap tinny speaker and the second is the very low bitrate they had to use to store the audio on whatever chip they have in it.

That's a creepy clock, it would have given me nightmares as a kid. It looks like Mario is high in mushrooms and about to murder someone. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Bart gets a creepy Krusty doll that comes alive and tries to kill him.

yes; those sound chips didn't allow continuously variable playback speed, so they just had to pick the closest speed setting
