yes the Regen breaking can make the motor tempe go up.(it's something called Eddy current)

I’m thinking about bumping up my Kelly controller settings too. Did you end up changing out the battery connectors to OSE8 / 10 for the higher current per John Angels posts? I just want to tweak it slightly for more torque (not quite ready for sicko yet) but was wondering if it’s really necessary to change the connectors, curious what you did here. Thanks

Just about to buy my second QS205, this time it will be the newest version which is the QS 205 V3 Ti. Some stores in china now sell the motor with the stator aid and hubsinks already installed, I think this is a good thing but maybe they should have done this from the get-go. Some people have made PC computer cases that are like fish tanks, so the container houses all the components but is submersed in a certain oil that is non-conductive to electricity but of heat only. This resulted in a massive increase of surface area that allowed for rapid passive cooling without fans.
I think it would be possible to do this with these motors, it would be akin to a sealed gearbox or combustible engine in that they are filled with specific high temp oils but the container openings have a gasket seal to prevent any leaks, so that would have to be made by myself. In theory, it could work and reduce heat even more! 🤔

yes regen makes heat the other way around but still generat heat, you cant have power without heat the same way you can't have light without heat
Does the temp go down with hub sinks alone?
Yes it just doesn’t work as good.
What is your accel time at and if it's not at 1s accel time why not?
It’s at 3. Any lower with a domino throttle and trying to hold say 40mph I can feel the bike fighting to want to go fast but then it bogs down. Hard to explain but it makes the throttle to sensitive to me on a domino throttle. Didn’t like it.
Question: do I need a kelly controller to unlock sicko mode?
Onyx rcr comes with a Kelly controller. Sicko mode is just what John Angel calls his adjustment tune on the stock controller.

@@midorian12491 yes but read the blog very thoroughly and take some time and order the necessary parts and precautions otherwise you'll end up with a blown out controller or motor
Yes regen creates Heat and a brushless motor makes for a horrible generator you would be lucky to get one or two percent back out of your motor into the battery it does save on your brakes but it's a little tough on the electric motor and it's cheaper to change brake pads than Motors so as you can see I'm very much up in the air about regen

I hate my onyx doesn't work like how it use too if anyone looking for a onyx got one for 3k 3000miles let me know
What does that even mean ? Parts are broken did you change controller settings other than standard where it should work exactly the same as day one

You're probably just more of a dirt bike or street bike guy appearance and subconscious bias is a big thing I don't like street bikes or motorcycles I like vintage moped Cafe racer classy look so I don't like the surron I'm sure it's a great bike and I would probably enjoy riding it but I wouldn't enjoy owning it cuz it doesn't fill that little hole in my tummy that wants a cute old vintage Cafe bike
