    It's so good to see them in these liveries again. I live between Fazakerley and Rice Lane with the line right at the bottom of the garden. I used to stand on the embankment looking down at the trains passing. I remember the shock of seeing the "Yellow train" fly past for the first time. I was only 7 years old in 94!

    Last of the decent units. Remember these on the lines from Waterloo, Hampton Court, Shepperton and so on. Will be a sad day when they finally bow out. Great video, thanks for sharing.

    Back when 508s ran alone on the WIrral Line and 507s ran on the Northern, then it became a mix!

    I always preferred the blue and grey livery to the yellow and grey.The one they've got now is certainly much better than the latter

    It was good to see the class 507/508's in their old liveries again. These emu's are (soon) to be replaced by what some people think will be second hand stock from the south east region after a forty year life on the Mersey rail network.

      They've released images on the Merseyrail website of the new stock and it isn't old stock from the southeast

      Yeah, it was announced a couple of weeks back in the local rag. The trains are going to be built in Switzerland and will have proper disabled access and have full front to rear open plan compartments. We should see them on our nework in 2020.
      Long gone are the days when these trains would have been built by BREL at York!

    508129 isn't with Merseyrail anymore :( that unit was moved back down south in 1997 and renumbered to 508210 for Connex South Eastern

      @shaunhenro9296 Před 9 lety

      ***** think you'll find it got taken out of service in 2008 with south eastern, and btw connex south eastern stopped trading in 2006 and the franchise was taken over by south eastern trains, plus the chances are 210 (129) has been scrapped at eastleigh

    • @agent_605
      @agent_605 Před 7 lety

      Connex was taken off the franchise in 2003 and was operated by the Government under the name 'South Eastern Trains' and then in 2006 the franchise was taken over by Govia as SouthEastern as it is today

      Electric trains always spark on the third rail. It’s a common occurrence and it’s nothing major.

    • @colinvespa4709
      @colinvespa4709 Před 3 lety

      I appreciated that, arcing happens, I'm more thinking more bad earthing or rusty third rail.
