    I absolutely LOVE Gerry Polci (drummer). Most don't know that he hated singing, lol. And he has a fabulous voice. He's now a drum instructor at a local high school and loving life. He was married to Frankie Valli's daughter at the time of this video. I'm 60 now and not ashamed to say that I think my age group had an experience or two like in this song, lol.

      Gerry did not hate the song. He hated the first version of it that had ridiculous lyrics. Once it was rewritten he was all in.

    Another one of the great groups from the 60's. Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons had so many hits together such as "Silence Is Golden", "Sherry", "Walk Like A Man", "Rag Doll", "Candy Girl", "Ronnie", "Dawn", "Let's Hang On!", "Working My Way Back To You", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "I've Got You Under My Skin" etc. When Frankie went out on his own in the 70's, he had the hit songs "My Eyes Adored You" & "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". Also he had a hit with the song "Grease" from the movie. Always loved that he was able to sing in a falsetto voice.

    You look at this group and yes I grew up in the 60s and they were huge, everybody can sing and they do doesn’t matter what instrument they’re playing everybody has a voice… When they could really sing without autotune😅

  • @mikecaetano
    @mikecaetano Před 11 měsíci +4

    "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" was a number one hit for Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons in 1976. Frankie Valli landed his first number one song in 1962 with "Sherry". So this clip was taped a decade and a dozen hits later. Trading off the vocals on this was a really nice touch. Frankie Valli supplies a chorus that evokes the sixties while still sounding fresh, fresh in 1976 that is, but the sound was easily recognizable back then.

    It's no wonder you want to hear more from the drummer and my friend Gerry Polci. We're from the same hometown, Passaic, NJ and we went to school together. He was a talented drummer back in 1970 and is still drumming today at the young age of 70! His vocals made this song The Four Seasons biggest hit. Gerry's career continued after leaving The Four Seasons as the drummer for the band The Hitmen. They were fantastic!

    Lol lol lol you ALMOST hit that high falsetto near the end, laugh. And what he's doing is quite impressive though so good luck with that. But it's definitely something to sspire to. It's not all that hard to get in the neighborhood, you know? But the bring it home and present it like that, that's like 70% the rest of the work to actually get there. He was just so good on so many levels.

    Great reaction Biz, I'm glad you enjoy listening to this group. They have some truly wonderful songs. I'd suggest another live performance, if interested. "Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - Who Loves You (Official Music Video)" This song "Who Loves You" is the title song from their 1975 album by "The Four Seasons" it reached number #3 on The Billboard Hot 100 in 1975... in other words, another Banger

    It was the night that Valli lost his virginity to an older woman. His friends Mom. So yeah, it makes sense he remembered it. Unfortunately, he did catch STD from her. But no problems back in those days, antibiotics knocked it right out.
