Taylor 212ce and 222ce-K DLX Demo from Peghead Nation

- Taylor Guitars recently introduced two new grand concert models as part of its affordable 200 series. The 212ce is built with a spruce top and rosewood back and sides, while the 222ce-K DLX features all-koa construction. We had a chance to check them out side-by-side, and in this video, Peghead Nation’s Teja Gerken demonstrates the guitars.

It is nice to see that Taylor does offer 1 & 11/16 nut width as a standard in some models. I never could get use to 1 & 3/4 that most Taylors have. I also like that these models stayed with the X bracing. Thank you for the review.
Love the 222
Great review. Love the GC size. Really tell the difference between the two sounds. That Koa top definitely has a smooth warmth to it.

Is that the neck the same as the 114e?
Nut is definately narrower on the 212, I just traded my 114

I have a yamaha apx5 and a Martin D-18 and i prefer the thin of yamaha.
So I’ll buy a 212 because of the thinner neck. :)
Yamahas have fantastic necks! These Taylor's are not as flat, slightly more rounded but still smaller than the USA Taylors starting at the 300 series. I just can't play them, too wide for me

Didn't get to hear much of the guitars over a 12-minute video. Not much of a "Demo". That was disappointing.
Taylor is better sounding than your average Martin, IMO.🎼🩷
