I think the problem with stock music libraries is that the focus is on volume, and also on creating corporate/unobtrusive music. Composers would benefit from composing for stock music libraries, but also work on quality album projects with the view to place them with production music publishers. It could be as little as one or two albums per year. The focus being on the quality of the album. This will develop your ability, and also it will give you pride in your work. Having a quality album placed with a known production music library will improve your portfolio. It will mean that your music is more likely to get better quality placements (you will be able to see where your music was used on your collection agencies royalty statement) and the payments will be far higher. I think that composers should place music in stock music libraries, as these are another form of passive income, but also aim to benefit from the income and pride that comes from having quality albums on quality production music libraries.

Hello Daniel, I'm Mariano from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thank you for your videos. I'm an old contributor in AJ (8 years now), but I have just 13 items. I wasn't active often. Now, I'm getting again in this, but they hard reject all my musics. It's frustrating. In Pond 5, they accept everything. How's your experience in sales beetween AJ and P5, now that you have almost the same items on both? I really like P5 more... My first sells were in AJ, so I loved them... It was touching... not any more... Is there any way that I could send you a track in order to have your feedback and tell me why do you think AJ reject it?Thank you, and regards

I did stop uploading at one point. I found that sales still came in about the same rate for me, which is not a lot, but they still came in.

Thanks Daniel, I recently got my Pond5 account verified and haven't uploaded any music because of the COVID19 Quarantine. I was kinda asking the same question, what if I didn't upload anything? Your video is very informative.

Cool, but you need to start uploading if you have an empty portfolio.

Daniel, along with uploading tracks to Pond5 and AudioJungle, have you made some marketing/promotional activities? Or just upload and wait for the sales?

    • @StockMusicLicensing

I don't promote at all. Customers are looking for the music inside the marketplaces, not outside.

A week ago I uploaded my first video to pond5, it's already online, but when I enter the main page, and put the name of my video, the search engine doesn't detect it, does anyone know why that happens?

    Hey Daniel!
I've been uploading to pond5 from 1st June till now a music track (including edits) every other day
I've landed 1 sale in July and another sale this month,
is this good progress as a beginning?
Total track numbers are 190 tracks.

Diego Martínez I have witnessed the same, I have sold only 3 tracks in Pond5, all of them fairly recently, the tracks have been uploaded 5 months ago, while the same tracks have sold 64 times in audiojungle in the same timeframe

It's hard to say...This is like asking how long should you diet before you start to lose weight? Some start selling with one track others with 100

Sales have stopped totally on AJ, recommend just create tracks and wait for this quarantine to go away, and then upload when everything is back to normal, imagine how big buffer you can get by doing that, and then upload every 2 - 3 days. Just my opinion.

    Questions:
    1. So, marking account as non-exclusive and posting in more than one market is the way to go?
    2. What does uploading regularly do for us?
    3. Why does uploading regularly work?

    • @StockMusicLicensing
      @StockMusicLicensing  Před 4 lety

The video itself answers your question. But let me know if I can clarify it for you Ace.
