The Mellon Collie era might have shown us the Pumpkins at their biggest and most powerful, but here they're so youthful and energetic. I'd definitely say the late Gish thru Siamese Dream eras are my favorites, by far.
Nobody worry about the strat. Back in the late 70s CBS (yes, THAT CBS) owned Fender and their guitars were either hit or miss. And they could really miss sometimes. BC was probably saving a guy from buying a heavy ass, swamp log wooded, bad intonated, crooked necked, micro-phonic pickuped, rusted, ugly POS from being bought secondhand. Some are really good though: Gish strat 1 and 2, I Love My Mom- turned black and blue strat, Billy's replacement for Gish no.1, etc.
he said something in the tone was bad about his orange strat that he destroyed on reading festival and this one I think had the same problem. He said he connected with the Gish strat, that he found 1 week ago
@SludgePunkGrunge Johanne Sebastian Bach is, Dave Mustaine is bad ass, almost all grunge sucks, dave grohls cool, but falls short of more dedicated musicians.
@KurdtKobain09 also there is such thing as better and greater. there is no such thing as the best since there are too many genres to compare, but in their respective genres chamberlain is the best drummer alternative rock has ever seen and is much better than grohl. wake up little boy.
@birdman2944 Jimmy is a more powerful drummer, more creative, faster, and not to mention tecnically better. I love Grohl's dumming (not a fan of TCV), but Chamberlain is better in every aspect.
Ha! Funny part is that this was filmed in 1991 and that was before all the Fender reissues. So that's probably an actual 60's Stratocaster that he smashed. Back in 91 vintage values were still low, but that guitar would probably be worth over $10,000 now.

@SludgePunkGrunge I'd say you right on Kurt and Kris (although I love Kurt's guitar playing style more, Corgan is prob technically better), but the drummer battle there is in no way clear cut . I mean Grohl's drumming with QOTSA and TCV is top notch. I'd go Dave but I'm probably too biased because of my love of QOTSA.
