- It took me a long time to find this song and i wanted to make it easier for everyone else to listen to this awesome song. "She's wearing my ring" lol gotta love it.

This was the best show on Television at the time.
Dave Sterling was an Australian living in the U.S. and his L.A. recordings were purchased by the Rev Record label in Phoenix, AZ. He had one Rev release in 1957 that went nowhere - "I Wanna Be Loved" / "You're Here" (Rev 3510). Surprisingly the more commercial sounding, "Dime Store Wedding Ring" from the same '57 session, with backing from the Don Ralke orchestra, sat in the vault for almost 60 years until it was licensed for the sit-com "The Last Man On Earth" and heard for the first time in 2015. No idea if he's still alive, however he does not appear to have recorded again after this session.

I assumed this was some fairly well known oldies song. Never would have imagined it debuted on the show! It reminds me of "Come and Go With Me" and that sort of stuff. It makes me wonder what other unreleased songs are out there languishing ...

I bought my first real love a $70 ring, she wanted a clatter ring, I thought at the time I wish I could afford better. But when I gave it to her she wore it on her wedding finger. This song reminds me of that. It's a great song.

Another REV song on the national airwaves...(the first since "Plaything" in '57 I should add...LOL).
