Thanks, i kept accidentally skipping parts and needed to find a time stamp list
Not all heroes wear capes
My paintings always looked like that "how not to" painting that you did. Now i know why! I'm just so impatient, i want to finish it as quickly as possible and you cannot do that with layering.. Anyways, thanks for this simple explanation!! Much appreciated!!
I’m glad I could help 🥰!
Use a hairdryer and you can get onto the next layer quicker.
I agree, same.
I think hobbies like reading and painting also teach us patience
I keep making the same mistakes
Same here!!
Do multiple pieces at once, work on one while the others dry ❤
Thank you so much for this video! I've been watching so many "gouache for beginners" videos lately and a lot of them go over basic knowledge most artists who don't practice gouache should already know (such as color relations and the such). Your video is MASSIVELY informative on gouache specifically as a medium!
I’m glad you find it helpful!! 😁
Demonstrating what NOT to do is just as important as showing what to do correctly. Thank you for a thorough and detailed explanation.
Thank you so much for this! Most artists only show the process of layering on a small rectangle swatch - if at all. So your video was ACTUALLY helpful, as others have said. I struggle a lot with layers myself, so I tend to work on a single one, ala prima style. You made me excited to try gouache again, since I work with Acryla Gouache where I don't have to worry about reactivating previous layers and can just mess around.
I’m glad I could help! Let me know how it goes when you try gouache again! It took me a long long time to get used to it but I think it’s totally worth it! It’s so versatile!
THIS!!! This is exactly the video I needed! I'm just starting to experiment with gouache after 7 years of digital-only drawing and it was so frustrating not understanding what I'm doing wrong. Thank you so much for making such helpful content!💜
I'm glad I could help!
Hey wow interesting to see another digital - to traditional artist! I was also doing digital only for the past 15 years and now I'm getting into traditional, it's so freeing and refreshing, takes me back to my roots. I always hand drew my sketches for digital art anyway so it just feels more natural to me.
honestly this is intresting! lol im the opposite of you a traditionalist trying to go through digital art and honestly its the same fro me :""D but its kinda nice though hearing from this perspective! as someone who did traditional alot painting on digital with layers confuse me so i just try to paint on one layer :""DDD
anyways the options of colors that traditional doesnt offer (since it takes so much money s;dkjfnsdjak;fn) its really nice!!
anyways it was nice hearing form this! :DDD im glad digital artists are doing traditional B)
Your drawing is so gorgeous
@@UwU-lm9oryou seem like a rlly happy person lol ❤😂
Amazing, a "Do & Don't" video that perfectly captured my mistakes instead of a rushed "Don't" painting as an example. Thank you for the tips!
Such a great idea to show the results of how NOT to do. Most tutorials just talk about how you SHOULD be working with gouache. You give a great demo of do’s and dont’s and why. Thanks.
This was great! I love how you showed the two paintings and demonstrated the good and “bad” aspects of each. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!! I’m glad you like it 😆
Love this🧡 I've been struggling with making leaves on trees. It always ends up like a blob. A tutorial on brush strokes would be super helpful for people who just started gouache medium. Thanks for this video🧡
i would love a video on brush stroke technique as well! related to this - i managed to reproduce the small leaf strokes myself using round brush number 3 from the reeves brand (im not an expert painter so idk how this translates into other brands) i just got my gouache to the right consistency and then painted short strokes at a slight angle and the bristles created the effect naturally! hope that helps you a little :)
Huh, I've been wanting to get into gouache from acrylics and I'm pleasantly surprised that, apart from the water, it's similar to how I already paint! Gouache is so beautiful! At first, I thought it was all digital art.
Thank you so much! Much like everyone else said: you're covering details that are hard to find elsewhere! Commenting to help this video show up first when people look for gouache tips!!!
Thank you so much for your comments!! I really appreciate it 😭❤️❤️
Very useful. I’m quite Impatient which is why my colours get all muddy, but your tutorial really helped me understand what I did wrong and it was also an amazing painting. Keep up the good work :)
This was so educational, and I've been dabbling in painting gouache for a couple years. Seeing it spelled out how you can consider different factors as you're layering was great, and I had no idea opacity is usually indicated on the tube.
I literally can’t express to you how much this video helped me, I’ve gotten into gouache recently and was hating the way my paintings came out and I didn’t really know why. This came up in my recommended and I’m so grateful, I was just being too impatient and not waiting for the paint to dry 😅
Awesome tutorial Ogygia! You covered all the important points and the end result is a BEAUTIFUL painting! I’ve been painting in gouache for a long time but I never knew about the squares and circles you mentioned showing the transparency level. That’s a game changer for me! Keep up the great work! 👍
This is amazing!! These tips are so helpful and I really appreciate the way you presented the information to us with two versions of the same painting.
This is so helpful and informative and inspiring!! Haven't seen too many such detailed gouche videos!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much. This was the most helpful gouache video I’ve seen.
This was extremely clear and very useful, thank you! 🎨🖌👩🎨
Thank you!!
I just asked for my first gauche set for Christmas! Excited to try these tips!
I learned so much from this video, much more than I've learned from any other video I've watched on gouache. Thank you :D
Thank you!! I just got a gouache paint set and wanted to know how to use it properly but not many other people went as in depth as you. You showed the do’s and donts which I’ll be using a lot. Thanks again!
THIS is a really helpful video! Thanks for this, I learned a lot more in this short time than I learned before from several tutorial videos.
Beautiful!!! your explanations are very easy to understand. Thank you for showing the how not to and the how to's on both paintings!!! Very appreciative! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
You are a life saver, I was so confused why my art looked washed out and grey. (As I am a complete beginner to gouache) thank youuuuuu!! 🙏🏼
Wow! The stark contrast of the 2nd painting really hammers the point home! The improvement in lighting/highlights/depth is undeniable. Thank you for this!!
This is like the most perfect gouache tutorial video. This was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Really good tips! Thank you for showing how it would affect the painting, having the visual reference for different techniques is super helpful and on top of that you kept the video short and entertaining!
Wow, these tips are actually very useful for me personally compared to other videos I have watched. Thanks so much for sharing! Your art is wonderful.
Your paintings are so relaxing I could watch it forever
This was a definite instant subscribe. This was amazing and added the depth and points i haven't seen from other videos. I'll be watching more of you in the future 😁💕💕💕
this of many videos I've watched is the most educational. I now understand how to use and what to look for on the tube. Thank you!!
such great tips! Love that you actually showed the process of both examples, very useful. Thank you!! 🖌
I’m glad I could help 😁
Thank you for sharing such an instructive video. This is so helpful!
This video is just what I needed! You explain very well what you should and shouldn't do, tysm :)
This is marvelous and I'm anxious to give it a try. You deliver so much important information, but in the simplest way possible. Thank you! 🎨
Best and modt concose goauche tutorial I've ever seen! And I've seen so many! So happy i found this video!
This was by far the most helpful video on gouache! Thank you! This pin pointed a lot of the problems I was having, without even realizing it.
This was so so helpful! Your explanation helped me a lot to understand guache as a medium.
Thanks for this, just bought some gouche and felt like I needed to know the basics before making a lot of mistakes and trying to reinvent the wheel for no reason. This helped me lots I can't wait to try it!
This is really informative, especially looking for those little markers on the tubes for how opaque they will be. I’m glad this showed up randomly in my recommended feed :)
Very clear explanations accompanied by great visuals. Love the end comment to, about there is no wrong in art. Makes me want to try gouache.
Gorgeous artwork and helpful tips. Thank you
This is by far the most thorough tutorial gouache painting and technique I’ve seen. I can’t wait for my paints to arrive! I will be using this as a reference for sure. I can’t thank you enough.
Thanks, this is so helpful! I am new to gouache after painting with watercolor and oils for many years. It’s definitely a learning curve.
This tutorial was amazing. Such clear communication and perfect demonstration. Demonstrating both what to do and what not to do really helps the points in the lesson be remembered. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for this video! It helped me immensely. I’ve watched a few other videos on this same subject & yours was much more helpful for me! Thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you for this video! It makes gouache make sense 🙌🏻
Excellent demonstration. Thank you. 🌸
I just found this video,I “liked” and subscribed , because as a watercolor painter I find this immensely helpful, great information, well taught, and beautifully painted. The two techniques side by side was also key to understanding the purpose for allowing the paint to dry! Thank you. ClaudiaSJI
Thank you for such a step by step explanation demonstrated between two works of the same subjects and yes, the second one where you allow drying first plus all the other tips, is far more lovely to me.
THANK you for the transparency thing! I've been working for years and never knew how to figure that out.
i noticed these things painting today and you put context to them. thank you.
This was so helpful! I bought gouache and I’m so excited but trying to take in as much info first because I’m mostly a watercolor artist and so something remotely opaque is new territory. Loved this help ❤️
I've saved this video for several months and waited for my exams to finish and start painting, thank you very much, your video helped lot to get back the control over the colours! You are awesome 🌟
that was SO helpful! i had no idea about the symbols signaling the opacity, and I've been painting for 19 years!
This was an excellent straight forward video and helped me solve the problems I kept running into. Thank you for this, you are very clear and concise with your directions! ❤
Thank you! I've been having troubles with layering the gouache paint and this video help me understand a bit more about it.
Thank you!! This was so helpful and your work is beautiful
Thank you for this! Gonna do some gouache plein air painting for the first time!
I learned SO MUCH from this. Thank you!
Something that’s rarely mentioned in videos is the specific type of paint you buy! I never even knew about being able to check the opacity of the paint on the tube itself, seeing this video makes me want to get back into it. Thank you thank you!!!
Thank you for this demonstration; it really helps to see where I’ve been going “wrong” and I need to a lot more patient and let the layers dry! And this totally looks like a beautiful scene from a studio ghibli movie😍just gorgeous!
Thank you so much! I’m glad I could help!
wow, I've been working (and struggling) with gouache for a couple years now, this video was super helpful!
You are so talented! Wow, it was amazing to watch your process and see how much you shared in terms of techniques. Can't wait to see more! Subbed!🖌
This is SO helpful! I’ve been teaching myself to paint with gouache, and learning through trial and error, but I would not have thought to consider the paint’s opacity or how many brush strokes I’m using. Thank you!
I did this painting with the dos And it’s such a big difference thank you so much for the tips I’m now much more proud of my paintings now!
Absolutly beautiful!!! Amazing demostration!!! You got a new sub
What a great little how-to video. The texture in the leaves is just lovely. Have liked and subscribed.
So pretty! Thank you for this tutorial. I was especially excited to learn how to determine the opacity of a color based off of a symbol on the paint tube.
Personally, I would live to see a tutorial on painting fog/mist with gouache, and painting sunbeams over a dark background with gouache.
Omg! This is what i exactly needed! Thank u so much for sharing your knowledge! I finally realize my mistakes. ♥
This has taught me so much in where I struggle with gouache for years, in just a 10min long video. ♥️
Love the bad vs. hood demo! Thank you 🙏
Love the vivid colours o my gouache its a great painting.

Wow you make this look so easy. I'm new to gouache and I'm hoping to improve by implementing these techniques; thank you for such an informative tutorial.
This is really helpful. The ones you showed to not do, is what I exactly did on one of my paintings last month unaware, I even got frustrated with it.
Very informative and well explained. I learnt so much from this. Many thanks.😊
As a beginner gouache user, I am so thankful for this! So helpful ✨✨✨
Thank you so very much for all of your awesome tips. This is a very valuable video, and I have learned so much from it!
Even being totally comfortable with gouache, I didn't know the tubes indicated their opacity! Great video
This is so useful! Tbh I had to learn all of this by myself through trial and error 😭😭 I'm so happy this will help other people to not take as long as I did!
