- The Tomb Kings rise from their dusty resting places and High Queen Khalida is our next Legendary Lord as we shuffle into a new campaign. We start surrounded by Vampires and they will lead us a merry chase as we try to decide if we should go clockwise or anticlockwise around the big ole mountain in the centre of our lands in part 1 of my Court of Lybaras campaign with High Queen Khalida for Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires.

The reason lorewise why zombies are worse than skeletons is because skeletons are actual warriors/soldiers that were reanimated from battlefields. Zombies are simply any old corpse found laying around, often peasants or commoners resting in a graveyard. Hence why the priests of Morr tend to patrol any major graveyard in the bigger cities.

That anecdote about Khalida is absolutely true, too. Settra went around kicking the shit out of everyone, EXCEPT Khalida, to whom he sent a very polite letter. She did not reply.
Don't forget that Sephulchral stalkers get missile attacks meaning later on Khalida can ride with them on her snake and buff them with her aura. They make for v. good anti-large having halberds and poison missile attacks.

I always loved making the tomb kings an ally, nothing better than bringing in some heavy units you don't have to pay for lol
I kind of wish all factions had the Unit Cap mechanic. It would make early game feel like early game rather than just 20 stacking at turn 4 or 5, and would make building decisions a lot more impactful about where you build.
Grimhammer mod provide that
@@markols1713 i mean for all units. Even baseline skeleton warriors, or empire spearmen. The newer total war titles have always felt like the early game ends at around turn 15-20.

I really love Khalida she is my fav hero i love her starting troops and casket of souls being so easy to get early its awesome in combination with her passive for archers and that poison . ❤
For Necrons, I also recommend “The Severed” short story. You’ll always imagine Overlords with a “Pip Pip! Cheerio! Lovely day for it” British officer voice.
I think that Crater Map is a reference to the two Tomb Kings that are forced to fight each other forever.

You might want to ally with kroq gar considering he's one of the few factions that you can actually ally with
Downside to that is he tends to break the treaties and you have to kill him anyway.

Tomb Kings have quickly become my favorite Warhammer Faction and Khalida my favorite Character.
Capturing settlments and selling them to a friendly faction will really help with the lack of income.
Weeeeeell considering that no one settlement actually makes much cash... really has little to no effect.

13:08 yes their chariot is ass but tomb kings missile chariot is probably the second or third highest for chariot unit in the game around 49 missile strength with 12 unit models. Just give it a try

Nothing like the roundabout chase followed by magical super summons. I have abandoned many a campaign in irritation over it.
One thing the chariots are good at are killing other tomb kings in the early game.
The attrition battles of crapstack vs crapstack from my first TK play though were pretty mind numbing.
But the chariots absolute cleave through no-mass skellies.

I love the idea of unit caps for all! I had a game go really bad when the Karl made a steam tank spam with his last settlement (not just one army) But anyways think about caps for everyone it will force the AI to have mixed army's taking settlements that make the units you hate will feel so much better and be more of an impact maybe make damage building block recruitment while they are at it!

It might be cheesy, but iirc you can recycle necrotects until you get a good one, ushabti carver or the scorpi boy.

Why don't the Vampire factions have the "Screaming Skull Catapult"?
They used to have it in the tabletop, but that was when "undead" Where a homogeneous faction where you have vampires and mummies in the same army.
Unit caps for some races are understandable like the Tomb Kings and Chaos Dwarfs. Some large units could be unit capped, but imo mostly that should be a setting and not enforced. I want to make a 20 dino stack whenever I want to, thats the beauty of the sandbox...

Khalida is my favorite TK but I don't like the TK roster. The Khalida reskin mod is so good.

Yeah the AI running away from anything that isn't them either insanely outnumbering you or an ambush is really annoying, the AI almost never wants to take field battles even where the battles are even / not insanely favouring the player - its one of the things they need to fix that has been an issue with Total War AI for years at this point - the AI should defend its land not run away unless they are injured or you have a massive doomstack
I know Ai cheats, but I didn't know they could recruit a 'tier 3-units inside enemy territory' kinda cheats. So blatant lol
With no settlement even, from where they got that tier 3 units i dont know, probably found them lying around.

Because its not going to unlock much and building military buildings is way more valuable early on.
