  • The New Hope Road Bridge is a single span bridge that crosses the White Oak Creek with 173 feet. The White Oak Creek is the major drainage channel for central Brown County with an average stream width of 160 feet
    .
The Bridge was built in 1885 with a Howe truss. The interior of the New Hope Covered Bridge is interesting. It has a massive eleven-ply laminated arch on each side of the Bridge stretching the entire length. The floor has diagonal planking interfaced with two runners that have a raised grain from use. The Bridge is covered with naturally weathered solid wood siding. It has a tin roof.
The Bridge has been bypassed but is accessible to foot traffic. If you are brave, you can find your way to the bottom of the river bank and access the decking under the bridge. Again the impressive eleven-ply laminated arch is securely attached to the abutments under the deck. As of January 2021 the historical New Hope Covered Bridge needs attention now so that it will remain part of our American landscape in the future.

It would be nice to show a little of the drive as you approach the bridge. Just in case the road would be somewhat rough, people would be able to determine if their vehicle would handle the drive.
