As someone that's been preaching patience with Hurts and have been on the bandwagon going back to Bama, I'm so happy to see him begin to convert some of his doubters into believers. Just week 2, so I'm not going to overreact but thus far, he's done nothing except put a smile on my face.
For sure. If he keeps playing mistake free, eagles have an easy playoff spot for the next few years.

I've always believed in Hurts right from his first few plays covering for Wentz, It's so damn good to see not just Him but the whole team working as one cohesive unit.

Instead of giving up on him for what he was able to produce out of college,Howie literally gave him the keys. Built a whole team around him. Clearly Howie knew what most didn’t and really believed in him.

The only game I watched live on Sunday was the lions v Washington, I knew the lions would stomp on Washington and Goff would outplay Wentz and the 🦁 put on a show. 👏
The combination of Brown,Smith,Watkins, and Goedert is insane. I was worried Hurts would target Brown too much but he spread the ball EVERYWHERE. The Eagles offensive potential was on full display and its scary good.

As a eagle fan I'm not. I knew he would do this beat teams that are not good until he beats a team's that made playoffs or going to be in playoffs he has done nothing. They scheme the hell out of the offense for him and everything has gone right but I actually see the same player I saw in college throws to first read if not there take off. Good defenses will make him look like the backup he is. The sad part is he will perform good enough overall to keep job and fans like you don't see it. Give you a example Jimmy G went to superbowl and Jalen don't got that in him but the team knew he just a guy so they went elsewhere after all success he had and Jimmy G way better than hurts

Clearly Hurts has been putting in the work this past off season. He has a much better command of the offense and is going through his progressions way better than he showed last season. Looking more like a passer who will run verses a running QB who is apprehensive passing! Excellent growth!!!

I've said it ever since the vikes gave cousins the first massive contract. He plays exceptional when the team is leading but is the complete opposite when they're trailing, and his track record in prime time games is also very telling. I applaud cousins for somehow making the coaching staff and organization still believe in him.
One of the best backs in the league gets 6 rushes? obviously they can't run block so they become one-dimensional. Everybody now knows who the balls going to, so wtf can Capt. Kirk do? He would be a good replacement for TB12 in Tampa.

If you examine every Vikes games last season you will find your generalisation about Cousins is 100% horseshit. He gave the Vikes leads, he brought them back, he put them in position to win in overtime, he made half a dozen game winning 4th quarter drives. The defence gave up an all time NFL record number of points after the 2 minute warning. Kirk was not on the field then.
Don't conflate Kirk's record in Washington with his record with the Vikes - his recent big game record average. I don't think there are many QBs around that can say they've won their last 3 in a row over Aaron Rodgers!! His year on year numbers stack up as well as any QB in the top 10 - he's just not flashy, or popular.
It's a long season.
This was the best overall game Hurts has had in his short career. His progression as a passer is turning this team into a legitimate super bowl contender. Also, huge props to the defense stymieing Cousins all night long. Jonathan Gannon really needed this one out of the D tonight because his game plan last week was atrocious.
He still doesn't trust his arm, hell he ran 17 times vs the lions, had more yardage than his RB for the 2nd times in a row smh

I don't care what anybody says, Jalen Hurts has the biggest chip on his shoulder. Got benched by Saban in the Naty for Tua, transferred to OU and received tons of backlash for it and showed it was a great move in the long run, checking off all these different boxes for what you want in a Franchise QB, undefeated thus far, young QB with a great defense, this guy is doing great!
Jalen Hurts has been very impressive so far to start the season. If he keeps up this pace, then watch out for the eagles in the NFC. Darius Slay has been messing with Kirk Cousins’ head all night long

I was very impressed with Hurts ability to recognize the coverage at the snap of the ball and know where to go with the ball. He was able to throw into windows most didn't expect. Then using his legs to either extend plays or keep the chains moving. The Vikings played mostly zone to keep eyes on Hurts scrambling ability and Hurts picked them apart with great coverage recognition, ball placement and going thru his progressions before scrambling. He has definitely shown more growth as a consistent and efficient passer more than the likes of a Lamar Jackson...
Even though it’s only week 2, Jalen Hurts has officially thrown his hat in the ring for MVP.
I`ve been watching Hurts since he was at Alabama. He`s one of those guys that continues to get better and better every year. I would`ve never thought he would get to this level of QB play. Always a good football player but now he`s on another level with it. Great job from him proving all the doubters wrong.

Its like Mahomes being weak, being given Justin Jefferson and then playing the Jets. Both QBs may be good, but the defense helped

@@gracialonignasiver6302 Hurts missed a lot of people open during that game and I think he ended that game with a INT. Hurts did have a really good highlight play during that game vs the Cardinals where it was a fumbled snap and Hurts picked up the ball and threw to a open receiver which was cool
I was sold on Hurts since I watched him at Alabama. I don't care that he wasn't as developed a passer yet, he had unmatched heart, character, and leadership and you can't teach that.
The eagles are playing a college level pace. They run the ball throw the ball and QB run. Hurts is refreshing to watch. Bringing a young and fast approach to a league that is usually played like a chess match. Can’t wait to see what this Eagles team holds they are a threat!!
I was so glad with Jonathan Gannon and our Defense this game. Those Blitzes were perfectly timed on the right downs and really stifled Cousins. We're at worst a top 3 team in the NFC, keep it up. #FlyEaglesFly

Yeah it was awesome seeing Gannon actually adjust and turn the defense around. From 35 points given up to just 7 points. Reminds me of Sirianni changing the direction of the team mid-season and turning the offense into a more run-focused effort. You gotta respect coaches that are willing to understand their mistakes and actually adjust because there's a ton of coaches out there that will constantly try to force that square peg into a round hole and do things THEIR way all the time.
Also the defense just reminded me so much of that 2017 team. Giving up a good amount of passing yardage but taking advantage of big moments and getting key turnovers exactly when they are needed. You love to see it.
Eagles defensive was incredible this game. But we cannot have Hasan Reddick out in pass coverage. Cost 1 TD and almost 2 if Cousins doesn’t choke. Birds secondary is legit, but if you play a 4-3 your linebacker’s cannot be pure pass rushers.

Sometimes you have to look straight at the leadership standpoint of a player and how confident they really are in their play. I’m a year younger than Jalen hurts and knew he was the real deal going into the season last yr cause I have never seen that leadership from a person that close to my age before. The only player I’ve seen having this great of leadership at the age of 24 was patty Mahomes. There’s tons of great qb leaders but i think mahomes and Hurts are atop the list of the young players and I don’t care what anyone else thinks

As a lions fan this gives me hope for next week. If our defense can step up a little bit, we could have a chance. Hutch was kinda limping on his right foot so idk if he plays Sunday. Our o line has some holes with ragnow and big v out but our backups were some absolute dogs out there against Washington. Our offense is looking explosive and Goff looks confident. This will be a great game and I can’t wait.

The Vikings needed this loss for their own good. All I heard all week here in Minnesota is how good the Vikings looked, and how we are gonna win our division and maybe even the NFC. I couldn't stand it. I knew you can't tell that from one home game where we got hot. I knew on the road against a good team things would be different. Now they know they have a lot to work on. Defense, secondary, O line, everything. Eagles played great. You guys look like the real NFC champions. I don't see many NFC teams beating you guys at home if Hurts stays healthy. I say that because I think he runs too much for how valuable he is. I get it, he's a great runner, and needs to run some, but he's shown that his passing ability is too valuable to risk injury running too much. If he keeps running like that Eagles fans will hold their breath every game.
This was my thought too. The Vikings played well against the Packers who did not play well. That does not make us the best team in the NFL! We needed a hard knock to get some perspective back and realize that Jefferson isn't going to get open just cause he expects he will and our D isn't going to shut down offenses based on reputation alone. Most importantly, being in Philly was a great show for the younger talent to be able to see how much of an impact atmosphere can have on a game.
The Vikings are a one horse show -- Jefferson. Their defense sucks and they have to learn that there is more than two games every season, which they never sweep. They will split with the Bears and Packers, and get sweeped by Detroit then lose 50% of the rest of their games. Love Vikings fans, they are like Jets or Raiders fans except the Jets and the Raiders have actually won a Super Bowl.
