After watching the Vikings fall flat when it mattered most so many times last year, and despite the way this game started, this was a refreshing finish to watch.

As a Detroit fan I went back to see how we lost, and we had so many opportunities to put this game away. Very poor clock management and play calling at the end killed us. Hopefully the coaches look at this for the next game we play the Vikings coming up this week.

I was born and raised in Minn but now watching the game from Germany. I gave up on streaming when it was 24-14 Lions and went to bed. It was a nice surprise to find that they came back. I'll give up more often if it means they win.

It takes some time for a team to get in rhythm with new schemes on both sides of the ball, going from defensive HC to offensive HC... the fact they're winning now is a good sign. It will get better for sure
A much better take than other typical fans. They complain about the lack of cohesiveness forgetting that this is the first season with a completely new staff/scheme.
I'd rather have them make a few hiccups early and build steam late into the season than start hot out of the gate and sputter out at the end.

Nice stuff from both teams. As a Lions fan, they “snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.” But really an entertaining game with a few weird coaching decisions and a few missed opportunities from both teams. Both teams were out there giving it what they had 👏

Watching the game, when the Lions got the ball back with ~3 minutes left, I said, “if they lose this game, it’s because they got conservative to solely try and burn clock HOPING to pick up a first” and that’s exactly what happened. Instead of playing soft, keep up the aggressiveness and pick up the yards. They’re were flowing all game. That stopped all momentum.
This lions offense is getting TD’s like crazy. So much so, that we’ve even set a record with 11 straight quarters with a TD. Out defenses has to follow up with that and get stops though.
They had 3 drives late, all they needed to do was score a TD on one of them and the game would have been over. Some really puzzling third down calls by the OC too. 3rd and 8 and you throw a 20 yard pass down the sideline when crossing routes had been working all game and are a much higher percentage? The Defense is going to take the hit on this one from a lot of fans, but the offense got conservative when they needed another score and a lot of that is on the play calling.
Oh, and Craig Reynolds has 1 less carry than Swift? They keep talking about an ankle injury but they are still throwing him the ball and he looks pretty explosive when he's in. That doesn't make sense either. I like Reynolds but he's no Swift. If he's really that banged up he can only take 7 carries and a handful of passes they need to sit him down and get him healthy.
@@steel7302 The vikings aren't that good. Cousins sometimes pulls a rabbit out of his hat, but when it comes right down to it, in big games he folds.
Detroit was so concerned with JJ and Thelien and they did shutdown JJ with double teams but Osborn made the defense pay in the end, minn has so many options and Osborn might be the best WR3 in the NFL, last year it was between him and V.Jefferson
Dope to see Goff swinging back against the elements, taking no sh--, especially as a Rams fan.... he making sure he aint going away quietly... starting to see why him and McVey handled their business so many years together against tough defenses. Was pulling for him this one... almost had this one in the bag.. dude shocked me throwing down in a Lions jersey... AT MINNESOTA. 😳👌🏿💯

Mattison is underrated. Cook is obviously a top RB, but I think a lot of teams would be happy to have Mattison as their starting RB.
That was a tough 6 yards he picked up for that TD at 9:45.

Goff, in general, is super accurate. If he gets some time he can hurt ya, as we have seen these first few games. If they can stay healthy and keep getting better defensively they may have a shot a top 8 spot.

I root for them as long as they're not playing the Vikings. After watching their HardKnocks showing this season, if The Vikings dont win the NFC North, I hope The Lions do.

I think going for it on 4th down the coach is trying to show the team how they have to be more precise and accurate because some of these fourth Downs they can pick up if they know that they can win a game but can lose it if they don't come forth down it might make them play harder I like it you trying to add some toughness to the team
