Dynacord going from "average" to legendary status is one of the coolest stories in gear history. I can’t get enough of my Super 76, and I’d pay anything to keep it in perfect working order-same goes for my Twen 2. I recently featured the Super 76 on my channel and plan to do more with it.
@@3str I’ve been cleaning everything, replaced the tape and all the tubes and still nothing but a distant echo. i quit, too difficult, you really have to desolder everything. But it’s a nice overdrive though! I
I currently have one and a later S/S init and have been fixing these for years. I have been a FOH mixer and tech since 1977 and the tings that go wrong mostly concentrate on the switching . To simplify , the switching on these controls everything about them. most if not all persistent problems will deduce down to poor electrical contact at a switch point. Another big prob is dumb hands moving and prying on things they should NOT touch.

Fantastic sound, the Echocord is a gem!
Looks like my Klemt Echolette but with a different faceplate. Great demo, by the way!
hi

I’ve just found one ! But it’s not working yet! I keep on searching the net to get more information🙂
Well it's quite the endeavour to get these restored. I have two more my tech has given up on :(

@@rickyboorman3924 I totally understand, this is a big undertaking. And I actually know of a couple of Echocords that never got repaired..
@@rickyboorman3924 But yes, it's still a gorgeos overdrive, and you should also try to use it is a mic preamp.
There's definitely enough gain!

What's the main differences, sonically, with the Echolette?
Does the preamp when pushed, acts the same way?
Thanks for the demo!
Yes, it does. I used to use mine as a tube distortion preamp.
@@THEScottCampbell Good to know, I've heard Echolettes are slightly better designed than Dynacords, but they really look the same.
@@massesesclaves644 I've heard the exact opposite, haha. FWIW, it was from a dude that works on them a ton
