TILE SAW vs AGATES! Cutting and exposing beautiful minerals

- Hey everyone!
Lets cut some Agates with my tile saw! Today we are cutting a bunch of gorgeous minerals that have been found throughout my last year of rockhounding. These have been found around the Lake Superior region. I use my new, to me, 7in tile saw, another enormous thank you to that tremendous person who gifted it to me! We are going to be cutting everything from moss agates, chalcedony, to a gorgeous agate nodule. Some turn out to be ones that are enjoyable to look at..some turn out to be duds..but some turn out to be the kind of cuts only a amateur like myself can dream of.. THEY ARE INSANE!!! I am extremely excited to share this video with you and look forward to your comments below!

I needed a saw to cut stone tiles for a backsplash. czcams.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I thought for sure I was going to need to buy a "better" blade than the one that came with this machine. I was surprised to see that blade worked great. Buying this saw was cheaper than renting and allowed me to take my time on the project. I wrapped the tiles (front and back) with blue painters tape and drew my cut lines with a sharpie on the tape. I performed all of my cuts free hand and had no trouble cutting the tile straight. There is a guide you can use to help with cuts if you prefer. This was my first tile job and this saw made it easy.

I have personal experience with that because I married a big goofball, and he makes me roll my eyes and laugh every day 😍. It’s so fun to see what’s inside the rocks. What beauties. Ok. I’m gonna plan a road trip for rockhounding at Lake Superior. As soon as I can. The agates are lovely. Even that worn piece has a subtle beauty and is worth polishing the face. You could tumble it. The exposed agates are amazing.

Agate Dad just need to plan out the trip and camping. It’s about a 15 hour drive so will need at least one or two stopping points. Planning it out soon.

Congrats on the new baby and thank you for doing this video. I have been lamenting over not being able to afford my own lap machine or have the space/money for a rock saw right now. However, a few months ago we were given a tile saw that a friend didn't need and it's just been sitting in my garage. I'm beyond thrilled to learn that I can put the tile saw to use for my work. Oh my gosh I’m a complete fool. I’ve been cutting minerals for three years with the same Skil saw and never once thought of removing the top cover and sitting behind it. Now I can’t wait to do that tomorrow. Haha 😂

I went back and watched this one again this morning to pick up tips before getting into my own first cut! I like how you cut the piece backwards on the saw so it sprays away from you and not blasting you like I've done cutting tile. Took my spray guard off so I could fit the rock, definitely safety first with the mask, glasses and ear plugs. Took me 30 mins to slab up this green jasper rock I found. So excited to try and polish it now... thanks for this video Taylor!
