    Thank you Ben. It was an honour and a privilege to be invited onto your channel. It seems that we have so much in common. Not only did we both start our teaching in Madrid but we also share the same perspective as to how English should be taught.

    Thanks for the pleasant chat.
    In an ideal situation, whitout preassure or obsession to pass now (that made me sick at school, etc), exams should be the means. The pourpose should be to continue learning and integrating the language as a routine of life, so i'm totally agree with you. Motivation and to work for it are our task, I'm aware ( Sorry to all of you for the mistakes , i'm beginer )

    Awesome conversation! Plus, as a Spanish native, I concurr with Ben about that inborn fear we spanish people fight with. If more of us could lose that initial fear to actually speaking english, we would be really surprised of what we can achieve ! Keep up the good work!

    It happens a lot in Spain. Language Schools hire native speakers who are not teachers to teach English. Some of them haven't got a clue. I think it's a huge mistake because being a navite speaker of English doesn't make you a teacher at all. "Intrusismo profesional", it's called. Not everybody is able to teach.

    Hi, I got the results for my CAE exam yesterday and managed to score 199 points, therefore I missed out on C2 by just one point. I remember having some trouble with the essay, as I went way off topic and also exaggerated with the amount of words, having to restart the essay with only a couple of minutes left and very limited space on the exam sheet.
    That's why I'm pretty sure that I'd be able to get C2 on my next attempt, but I don't know if I should try. I mainly did the exam in order to have my English skills confirmed on my CV and I'm pretty sure C1 level is more than enough.
    Would you recommend taking the CPE and if so, should I retry the CAE aiming for the perfect score or should I just go for the CPE exam?

    • @tothepointenglishwithben.
      @tothepointenglishwithben.  Před rokem

      The C1 Advanced is enough for most situations, as you said. If you find exam preparation motivating, you can go ahead and try the C2. However, English exams are short-term and you need to find extrinsic, long-term motivation in order to sustain your relationship with English.
