Thank you Ben. It was an honour and a privilege to be invited onto your channel. It seems that we have so much in common. Not only did we both start our teaching in Madrid but we also share the same perspective as to how English should be taught.
Indeed! Great minds think alike 😃
Good to see you here Gideon. Stay mellow 😂😉
@@freddiemercury8700 "Stay mellow!" - the best expression I've ever learnt from you, Gideon! 😁
I really enjoyed this interview, my favorite master in learning the English language
I'm blown away! A "grammarian" and a "to the pointer" sharing a screen. What a milestone! Thanks to both of you! 🤗
Glad you enjoyed it, Cristina!
Ohhhh my two favourite channels in one video!✨
Thank you so much for this wonderful chat! I do believe Gideon is the best English teacher in CZcams, a real professional who knows how to teach and motivate his students. I "go" to his classes every night
Gideon is such a wonderful speaker. He has a delightful accent and a nice voice.❤️
Ben + Gideon + Jon = Holy Trinity when it comes to English learning ❤
Ben, you really got me with Plexit:) Gosh, it cracked me up real bad:) That was so much fun. Loved this conversation series (I assume it is gonna be a thing from this day on if it hasn't been already). Keep it going!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice, two of my favourite English teachers in one video, thanks to both of you! I really appreciate this kind of interviews / spontaneous conversations, I hope this will be continued or repeated once in a while. Good luck and happy teaching!
It's such a pleasure to watch these two inspiring English teachers have a lovely chat. Great job Ben!
Thank you, Rurik 🙂
No way!!! Awesome. Thank you, guys!!! I love you both
Thanks for the pleasant chat.
In an ideal situation, whitout preassure or obsession to pass now (that made me sick at school, etc), exams should be the means. The pourpose should be to continue learning and integrating the language as a routine of life, so i'm totally agree with you. Motivation and to work for it are our task, I'm aware ( Sorry to all of you for the mistakes , i'm beginer )
Well said, Isabel!
what a great and low key interview.
I can listen to both of you for hours.
thank you very much for this video.
Thanks for giving us this amazing chat. The best one I have seen. Informal, easy to understand and with lots of pieces of advice.
Glad you enjoyed it!

He is an Eggcellent funny cockney geezer.
Greetings from Casablanca, by the way; I wonder where his mate Jon Monty is 🤔🤔🤔
Wow!!!!! So great to see the two of you together! Gideon IS a legend, and besides of all he is such a funny guy (we may say even "hysterical", may-be- !? 🙂) Anyways, you both are my favourite teachers of English, btw. Alongside with Lucy the Blonde - none of you does get even close being that beautiful however, I'm so sorry... 😭 Greetings from 🇪🇪 ! R.
My two favorite English teacher! Thank you, both! pls, Carry on!
TeacherS!
Yes, Loom of the Language or Die Sprachen der Welt! A great fascinating and easy to read book by the Swiss linguist Frederick Bodmer, predecessor to Noam Chomsky at the MIT. Still worth reading today!
What a collaboration😱😱😱😱😱
Great video Ben! I appreciate it.
Glad you liked it, Turi!
as you said beeing a teacher doesn't mean you can't make mistakes. you are human not a robot. it happens.
True
Awesome conversation! Plus, as a Spanish native, I concurr with Ben about that inborn fear we spanish people fight with. If more of us could lose that initial fear to actually speaking english, we would be really surprised of what we can achieve ! Keep up the good work!
Absolutely!!
My two favourite teachers in one video, great!
Thank you! 😃
It happens a lot in Spain. Language Schools hire native speakers who are not teachers to teach English. Some of them haven't got a clue. I think it's a huge mistake because being a navite speaker of English doesn't make you a teacher at all. "Intrusismo profesional", it's called. Not everybody is able to teach.
I agree.
Thanks Ben!
You're welcome 🙂
I follow both of you :) great to see you together :)
Thanks, K!
Follow your bliss
& enjoy it ☺️
No Gideon, we watch your videos simply because, not only are you a great grammarian, but also a comedian that makes us laugh more than Charlie Chaplin 😂🤣
Hi, I got the results for my CAE exam yesterday and managed to score 199 points, therefore I missed out on C2 by just one point. I remember having some trouble with the essay, as I went way off topic and also exaggerated with the amount of words, having to restart the essay with only a couple of minutes left and very limited space on the exam sheet.
That's why I'm pretty sure that I'd be able to get C2 on my next attempt, but I don't know if I should try. I mainly did the exam in order to have my English skills confirmed on my CV and I'm pretty sure C1 level is more than enough.
Would you recommend taking the CPE and if so, should I retry the CAE aiming for the perfect score or should I just go for the CPE exam?
The C1 Advanced is enough for most situations, as you said. If you find exam preparation motivating, you can go ahead and try the C2. However, English exams are short-term and you need to find extrinsic, long-term motivation in order to sustain your relationship with English.
Nice video. I was wondering if you offered one-to-one private video lessons. I have passed my Proficiency mock exams with good marks but I think I'd need help with writing and speaking. Let me know, please.
I'm afraid I don't have any time available for private lessons at the moment. 🤷🏻♂️
Is this a stand up comedy or what? Haha 😄 👍
😃
What's Gideon's full name?
