Rick- "I'm going to call a friend who knows a little bit more about these things."

Didn't Rick said he doesn't buy Nazi memorabilia?
There are 88 thumbs up at this moment. Awesome o/

My observation exactly.
Brilliant
😁😁😁👍
You’re reading too much into it. Even without the guys comment, the next logical transition would be to go on Rick
I read that as the guy said it
The seller is honest about putting new parts in
I think we could find that out ourselves
That's because half of them had been thrown off the decks of U-boats and ships 76 years ago.
Then again the asking price for an enigma machine with less than half of the original parts was just dumb. Im with Rick on this one and even 50 K for that seemed steep.
Yeah, but he refused to say what he actually PAID to acquire the machine. So many guys like him acquire "rare" items for peanuts and then they want the moon for them at time to sell. Betcha he paid less than 30K for that machine, including the cost to restore it.
"That's an odd number." No, Rick, 149300 is actually even.
I think he meant “weird” lol 😂
hhahahahaha so funny, you should do the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - I'm sure you will win joke of the Festival, and that would be yourself.
Happy ness woosh
Ok nerd.

Rick's wife: Honey I don't feel good. Can you bring me some food that won't upset my stomach?
Rick: The best I can do is Taco Bell and I'm taking a huge risk here
These jokes are so overused
@@musicELIAN yep, corny 15 year olds.
If Taco Bell upsets your stomach, you don't need to pass on your weak genes.
How unoriginal. Please just stop.
Lmaooooo
Forget all the "experts".
*Alan Turing was the real MVP.*
Not just him, the Polish were the ones that actually broke the codes
@@davidlewocz7271 yep, this is the 3 rotor one that the polish broke. Turing later on broke the 5 rotor one.
@@davidlewocz7271 My understanding is that the Polish had made great process on decoding the Enigma, but it was the British that had actually decoded it.
Locutus nope Polish break enigma before even WWII started. Turing just made process super fast. But nobody remembers that especially brits.
@@ihateyouall1648 Yep just forget Bletchley Park, and all the code breakers working there.
“Your Enigma did not make the cut, Rick will explain”
This guy was too tight with price, good luck selling that thing with body language like that.
not to mention it's a reproduced fraudulent piece of garbage
@@user-re3ux2ob3q It's either fraudulent, or reproduction.... In reality, it's a reproduction. At no time did he say it was all original, he was very honest about what work was done to it. Therefore, it's not a fraud. If the seller had said it's all original, but then used replica parts, then he is attempting fraud.
@@Locutus dont be pedantic, im just saying you shouldn't ask for so much for a reproduction and i used diminutive language to express that
@@user-re3ux2ob3q your right lol. That guy acted almost insulted by Rick's expert and you could tell by the expression on his face. You dont go to a pawnshop and expect high market value on items such as these in the first place.
@@user-re3ux2ob3q I'm not being pedantic. It was not diminutive, you said he was trying to commit fraud... Which he was not... If I said you were a liar, a thief, and a cheat, would that be diminutive? No, of course not.
There was no misrepresentation involved.
I love how rick always stops smiling and freezes when the sellers say the price
Pawn Stars running order:
Person comes in with rare item
Rick or whoever is working reels off some facts about the item he’s pre read before filming
Rick then laughs at one of his own jokes
Customer presents a figure he wants
Rick calls in a buddy to low ball customers offer
Customer tries to negotiate but Rick never budges more than 5% north of his opening offer
Customer leaves shop with item hoping to find another buyer or with 1/3 of the money they were looking for
Rick makes one final joke about the deal and laughs
Scene ends
@ArjenRobben Mr.Wembley that's a little harsh
@ArjenRobben Mr.Wembley found the 12 year old.

"This thing won't make me understand women would it?"
No rick, no it wouldn't.
He needs to take the red pill.
Unless they’re nazi women 😂😂😂
A perfect example of the seller being the one with ridiculous expectations.
Notice how they made it sound like the US cracked the code when in fact it was the UK.
Your right, the US cracked the Japanese code, not the German one.
@@MrLuckycentury 'purple' :) William F. Friedman created the word 'Cryptanalysis', so whilst Turing, and his team was genius, Friedman quite literally end up in a mental institution from exhaustion cracking purple, but all credit to them, they done it. Amazing minds all of them.

I always root for people to walk out. Pawn shops are, and always have been, rooted in human misery. They make money off other people's despair.
Rick: let me call in a expert who’s going to tell you it’s worth less than what your asking
he's had experts give higher prices than what was asked many times. Even he has offered more when he felt the owner didn't know what they had.
Colby... Before you criticise Rick, make sure your spelling is correct first...
Locutus this is funny because you didn’t spell criticize right.
At the Spyscape museum in NYC, they have an original Enigma as well as a fabulous exhibit on Alan Turing and how this machine turned the tide for WWII.
Seller: I think my price is fair
Me: Well of course you'd say that
Rick - “this is amazing, this is incredible” hypes every item that walks through the door and offers 5bucks for everything
Reproduction parts and non-matching serial parts? I don’t think it’s even worth the $70,000.
The slicked hair ranger guy walked out didn’t even shake the guys hand what a savage 😂😂
The seller was an irritable goof. I wouldn't touch the dude either.
Guy: *brings in a robe that Jesus wore*
Rick: lemme call a friend who is very religious and works for a church
There’s one at Bletchley park too, where they cracked the code.
The real enigma is how Rick inexplicably seems to know an "expert" for seemingly almost any type of ware that passes through his shop...
that's his business to know someone.
It's a tv show........
What's stupid is that you people have just added further credence to the fact that people on the Internet don't understand a joke when they see one.
Not everything has to be taken literally at face value, calm down, stop attempting to prove how "clever" you all are and live a little.

I’ve seen one in person myself and it’s in amazing condition
Gets called in to evaluate an Enigma
Talks about hair.
Expert: sorry rick but I'm gonna have to ask to leave the shop.
Expert: okay sellers and buyers you're all going to the next round
Guy probably spent $120,000 to
Buy and restore the Enigma machine... just because you are willing to buy overprice pieces and willing to put time and labor into something doesn’t mean everyone does ... it just means that you are the biggest dummy willing to pay so much for something at that given time. Economics 101 buddy!!!
pretty sure the seller knows more than you do... cos they mentioned somewhere that he owns a museum for these machines
@UCdh_tpInnWf0D7ij4R5iHWw His has a lot of important reproduction parts in it it drives the price way down along with the case not being original if he waits another 10 years he might get the price he wants
That is true... Some people will spend a lot of money restoring cars, and after all the work they put it, they don't get their money back.

I am gonna call my friend who knows about these machines
*Alan Turing appears*
I feel bad for Wil Willis his parents literally named him him Wil Willis I bet his middle name is lis
i thought his middle name was LEE
I actually found one of these things, except it was a 4 rotor model in the attic of my best friend's wife's grandmother in Memphis TN in the early 1980's. It was in pristine condition, but us teenagers had no idea what it was. We thought it was some sort of typewriter. We hauled it to the city dump with all the other crap we pulled from the attic. I'm now 62yrs old, and this single event has haunted me ever since I discovered what it was. My question is "Why would a little old lady have one of these things in her attic in Memphis TN of all places"?
I swear that these pawn stars are like villagers from Minecraft sometimes
It's a tv show.......

As soon as I seen Wil Willis face, I recognize that face from somewhere Forged in Fire
“Super rare” should be hyphenated in the video title.
