That cab looks rather posh. Just got my class 1 on Thursday. Had an interview today & i'm just awaiting his return call. No more buses for me.
Just cannot understand why these delivery points take so long to unload. Good to see you in Bridgend which is only 10 minutes away from my house. Hope you enjoyed the Devon Truck Show. Stay safe and take care.
Cheers Luke. Thanks for the ride. Stay safe. Mick.
I love how I'm learning all the drive time and shift time rules for my HGV licence and you're talking about it as well, really cool how well you know the rules and how to comply with them. Here in the Netherlands you need to pass 3 theory tests, and I passed all of them first try! now onto the real lessions
Cracking content yet again Luke, thanks for that and keep up the good work and keep safe!😀🚛
Yep it was a good laugh when I noticed your Shirt was inside out, you certainly keep us entertained. I love these vids, never a dull moment.
Another superb vlog once again Luke and I hope you have enjoyed yourselves at the Devon truck show
years ago i did the home deliveries for wickes up in Scotland and they were the slowest crowed every 3 hour to load 4 pallets
Another great video luke well done mate, always like watching your videos cos when you say "we" it feels like we are all on the road with you lol and your knowledge and experience comes handy for us future hgv drivers. Have a safe journey home.
Great video Thank you Luke Enjoyed again. The man without a hard hat. Bet you Said. O K Sir. 😂😂😂. Thanks again. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
Been watching your videos for a while now just done my medical today, hopefully when I pass it all get on a 4 on 4 off pattern
Nice one Luke. Thanks 👍
Thanks for this. Question given the video title, you were doing a lot of walking previously, how do you find walking now after Covid?
Picked a good spot there. A Gregs Bakers just a bit further up. :)
Hi Luke, great video, watched one last night from 2016 I'm Not Going Down There, you were in the Cotswolds. Take care
Keep up the good work luke love you're vidios
Do I take it you got dressed in the dark, and when did you noticed your t-shirt was on inside out... ha ha keep up the good shows buddy....
I Luke hope you are well. How's the best UK driver doing ok. Nice to see you and I hope you had a good day. Take care buddy and happy trucking to you phil.
I really don't know how you manage to drive for so long. I did a 2hr drive last week and struggled half the time to not nod off. Not dangerous levels of course but I did feel tired.
Hi luke great video keep doing them mate 👍
Another enjoyable vlog - Thank you 👍👍
Just started watching, great vids 👍
Another great video Luke keep it up looking forward to see another video
Enjoyed the video chap...excellent
I’ve actually drove past your yard on a couple of occasions I’ve only just realised, I stayed in the caravan site right opposite for a few months😂
Have you fallen out with a planner and he’s given you a shiner.!!!
What do you recommend for sat-navs please, such a wide range of devices including apps! Which one do you personally think is good? Thank you
TomTom professional are pretty good. Not let me down yet anyway and my trailer is 16'2
yeah another Bridgender here. think knowing how bad the main road is to pull out of anytime of day as a car driver just a junction further up on the road that leads to Tremains Road (Kev would vouch as a bad junction to pull out from!! when he has done scrap cars from Brackla), then think if I was driving an artic then would try for the Industrial on the B&Q side of the round-about instead, at least then you got the traffic lights to help slow the traffic down especially with trying to leave sometime between 7-9 am. great vlog Luke
I see Luke is still playing DAF bingo again. Standard DAF hahahaha
Great Video Luke
Brilliant vlog again mate ps loving the bogie
Great vlog luke
hi great to see you all at the show thank you all from norwich
Most of the wind come from SW where I live
At least you realised your shirt was backwards in the end!
If that car had spun out Luke it wouldn’t have been your fault, it didn’t exactly slow down did it!?
Hi Luke, i love your videos and you really helped me when i was going through gaining my class 2 licence. Ive been driving a hgv for 8 months now but this week ive begun to lose confidence in myself because of a recent event where i accidently pulled my front driver side light of as i was reversing. Im now paranoid about having future accidents and as such im debating wether or not to carry on as a hgv driver. Do you have any advice that may help? Cheers.
Carry on, everyone has had an accident before
Bumps and scrapes are almost inevitable driving trucks. The fact that the accident bothers you is a good sign. The important points are 1)No one was hurt and 2) You learn from your mistake and move on. Every near miss or incident is an opportunity to learn and improve. Best of luck to you.
If that's the worst you've done in 8 months you're doing v well fella! - keep on trucking (but ok yes reflect a bit and learn...)
Ref shift lengths its actually not mentioned anywhere how much you can work or how long you can work. Its governed by hours of rest in a 24hr period.
If you work 13hrs say, you can still have 11hrs off in the 24hr period (13+11) which is a regular daily rest whereas if you work 13hrs 1m you can then only have 10h 59m rest and is therefore a reduced daily rest.
Ultimately it means the same thing to most people as that's hiw we look at it, but it comes across weird because it's governed by periods off of work rather than how much time you spend at work.
Planners often cock it up I find and seem to think that doing a 14hr shift and then giving you 11hrs off isn't a reduced rest and all is good but when you explain it to them and say you can't fit 14 and 11 into 24 so it's reduced you often get a blank look in return.
Correct, it's the reduced rest that matters, not the shift length.
Taking a daily rest less than 11 hours counts as a reduced daily rest.
Working a shift longer than 13 hours counts as a reduced daily rest, even if you take a rest longer than 11 hours (ignoring the multi-manning rules for brevity).
You can reduce your daily rest up to 3 times between weekly rest periods.
Gotta say, that Bright Shinny Audi did look nice, even if it seemed out of place in between all those Units, just if I wasn’t too ‘embarrassed’ to say hello you you all, Scott was sat in the car at the time too 😅
Hi Like, just dropping by to say hello after meeting you with Claire and Martyn at Honiton. Learnt after that the red car was yours. It was a great show and hope you enjoyed it too. Take care and thanks you.
Nice to meet you. Hope you have a a great day and enjoy the rest of the week
@@lukecinahgv Thanks Luke and you.
Thought you were getting G16 back on the road !
You look like your eye problem returned. Hope it's not a bad one this time around. I also think that you make driving your truck so easy just like Scott Andrews. Both of you rock.
Yeah it was improving and then the hospital have said wait longer between appointments, my next appointment is in a few weeks time essentially all it is is my eyelashes are going into my eye and I keep rubbing it.
A very good Tuesday morning to you all
England so much like NZ rain and wind with bit of sun if your lucky
Another great video.
Another awesome video
I'm just curious. How do you take a dump/piss in the middle of the night if you had a little tummy pain at such secluded places
Awesome video buddy from Alan in Lowestoft
Stay safe Luke 🚚
Makes me laugh that someone tells you off for not wearing a hard hat but isn't wearing one themselves ffs I'd have said Where's yours then but I suppose that's why I wouldn't last 5 mins doing your job🤣,can't believe noone told you your top was inside out😆,great content luke as always thankyou, cheers 👍
Luke is great
Lovely burger van at wickes Newbury 👌
One in b&q is a lot better!
Lukas, when you doing a live video? Got a serious question I wanna ask you that I need answered lol (about truckers) By the way - How's your Dad?
yo thanks for the shoutout yes i work at nolans on the industrial estate wish i could of spotted you
Oh you contracted covid recently? So did I. How was your experience after going back to work?
Cheers from Singapore 😃
It’s what you do with it Lukey boy
Hi luke i just put your code in tomtom for go expert discount cheers feller and is the go expert good for multi drops as i will be doing at least 20 drops per day and does it put them in the correct order from first to last thanks
Hi Luke, I'm doing my hgv training and i was just wondering if you have to wait outside a unloading site while another truck is being unloaded how does that affect your driving time?
It doesn’t because you are stationary it only affects working time.
@@ianhepburn6550 So for that you would change the tacometer to working time? And is that a maximum of 6 hours until a break is required?
@@deepfiix When you put your card in tacho you are officially working doesn’t matter if you are getting loaded or unloaded or sitting in traffic you are still working,if you are getting loaded and sitting in cab you put the tacho on break.Driving time only counts when the wheels are turning.
@@deepfiix Waiting to be unloaded could potentially be recorded in up to 3 ways:
1. Other work (crossed hammers). This is the "safest" way to record it. It counts towards your working time for WTD (the "six hours before a break", "average 48 hours per week", "max 60 hours per week" stuff), but it doesn't count towards driving time for Drivers' Hours Regulations.
2. PoA (box). PoA means "Available to work, but not actually working". You're allowed to use PoA only in cases where (a) you have been told the length of time that you're going to have to wait, or (b) you are able to make a reasonable assumption about how long you're going to have to wait. So, in the case in the video, Luke could see that there was a truck in front getting unloaded, and how long it was taking them to unload each pallet, so he could make a reasonable assumption about how long that would take. PoA doesn't count towards working time for WTD.
3. Break (bed). I think it's probably legal to class this time as "break". The rules define "break" as: "any period during which a driver may not carry out any driving or any other work and which is used exclusively for recuperation". Personally, if you're parked up at the side of the road reading a magazine, I don't see much difference between waiting for the truck in front to get unloaded, or for the clock to tick over. I'm happy to be corrected if there are documented cases of drivers being prosecuted for incorrectly recording this time as "break". It's certainly true that you can't unload (or unstrap, or even just supervise someone else unloading) whilst on break, but I believe that it's legal to record the waiting time as "break". If you were in a queue and having to move forwards every few minutes, though, I wouldn't do it. I'd want to have a reasonable expectation that I'm going to be stationary and idle for the full 15 minutes.
@@misterflibble9799 Thank you for your reply it has been a massive help
Surprized you didn't equal the cross on the last stack of pallets, there is a lot of pallet trucks just putting one strap over with 3 x 4 pallets without the cross on the back never looks safe to me., but I guess being an old hand at this and doing it with ropes it was standard practice to cross the front and back whether sheeted or not
Na it was fine mate. 2 over the top and a 3rd crossing the back. Was plenty 🤙🏻
Why are not using one Brand of Truck lot cheaper to run Parts for one
No more top off shops!! Lol
Excellent vlog enjoyed it safe driving
Can we have the old intro music back
How do you know the height of that load , is it measured in that yard
With a stick 🦯
You said you started at 6am. Yet your tacho says 4:59 and your dash says 3:59. How do you ever know what time it is, that would do my head in that would. 😂
That’s what she said .....
Does that crack in the glass over your display not annoy you?
You know if you press and hold the bottom button on the daf fob it cycles the lights for checks including brake lights and reverse 👍
👍
Who wants to see a chappy Honda at a truck fest.
Your mum
@@lukecinahgv it should have shown as crappy, I don't think she would even come out of her grave for that.
How do you measure the height of your load when doing flat bed work
That’s a better load on there mate
i skip the begining cos that avail is crap
I thought if you did a 15, you couldn't have 9 off it as to be at least 11 hours off
You just have a minimum 9 hour rest in a 24 hour period. So if you did a 15 hour shift, you have 9 hours still to get a rest in. 15+9=24. So legal 🤙🏻
In "an" HGV
Papiezguwniak
@@lukecinahgv hi
Am I the only person who noticed your shirt is inside out at the 20 minute mark?
Note: I made this comment before you changed your shirt around
Wow that’s a big load 🫣 well done 💪🏻💪🏻
hello
That is not an 11 hour off your day is over 24 hours if you start @ 06 00 you must finish before 19 00 to get 11 off, do a 13 plus 11 = 24 I used to get these infringements as I was doing same as you until I was corrected by a mate
Yea I know mate. If you go over 13 hours working time it’s automatically counts as a reduced 9 hour rest. You can still take 11 hours off, 12 or even 13 if you want. But it’ll count for 9 🤙🏻
15 hours some Breaks I hope
Of course
Tut tut tut luke did you not see the keep clear you blocked at 11:28
Damn hgv drivers
Oops.
🚛👍
Just had lunch then seeing lukes snotter 🤮😂
Hi, See you are not to bothered about driving an unroadworthy vehicle then ? Would you know if some of the brakes were not working ? doubt it Maybe you should read the book of Malcolm Green,
Do you have a bee in your bonnet?
Why didn’t you put another strap over the back and make a proper cross to hold the pallets, also the same at the front double cross them, 😱💩job
The load was strapped perfectly adequately. Thanks for your comment
@@lukecinahgv I beg to differ!! Always double cross over the back…and front… hey ho. It’s called a Dundee cross and it’s in the HSE guide lines to securing a load at the rear.
There were three straps over those back pallets. More than adequately Strapped. Don’t drive like a dickhead and it’ll be fine.
@@lukecinahgv you said it….. I’ve only been driving for 30 years classone, so hay what do I know eh?
Congratulations on driving for 30 years.
I’ve been driving class 1 for 5.
That doesn’t mean your automatically right or what ever you say is the way. Remember that 🤙🏻
I’ve taken your advice onboard. I was happy with the way I strapped it. If you wanna strap it differently that’s cool. That’s your business. Not mine.
That looks a big load how was truck fest
As a visitor, I gotta say it was good, but H&S put a stop to all vehicle movements so that stopped the parades, and recovery demo 😩 was too embarrassed to say hi to Luke, Kev and Scott though.
