BRILLIANT!!!! I just got my first sled, I’m a Michigan transplant from AZ, just like yours. I love it so much. And was looking at all these expensive cans, kinda disenchanted with the sound. You are AWESOOOOME!! Thank you thank you for the tip. You kick ass. 🤘😁👏👏👏 We’re doing it tomorrow.
Thank you. They are great sleds if they’re maintained. I was also not a fan of the sound of most of the aftermarket exhaust cans and this was an easy enough mod to do and it does make the sled sound more aggressive but it’s not obnoxiously loud. I also changed out my entire rear suspension which was a complete game changer for this sled as far as handling goes. I cover that in a few videos as well but if your machine is already good to go, then just ride it and enjoy it. Mine needed some work initially which is why I updated a lot of things. Welcome to Mi, I’m about to say F this place and move to AZ. The older I get, the more I hate being cold.
I have done this mod to a couple redhead machines. One was a 700 XTC and the other was a 600 Venom. It's sounds louder in video, concrete floor maybe, than what I experienced outdoors. No jetting required but I did have to add weight to the clutch arms so it does make a little extra power.
Sounds great! I did That and a single layer head gasket and reed stopper notch good for 10hp on a 700,just adjust fuel screws to 2 turns out and leave the jetting stock
Nice job on this old sled man, if we could just get snow now.
Thanks, Its been fun working and modding this sled. It sucks about the snow situation though. I have been itching to try it out.
Any difference in how it runs? loss of any power? throttle response changed?
Does this work for 500?
Did you Jet it Up?
as of now, no. stock jetting. it is to my understanding that jetting it up is really necessary if the actual pipe "expansion chamber" is altered or changed. I do however plan on stepping it up to 140 main jets across the board. the muffler mod doesn't really change the restriction of the exhaust very much, it more or less just allows the exhaust to bypass the baffles int the muffler which makes it louder.
I word for the Wise, Don't run the sled at full throttle, Until You Jet it up, Any time You relieve, change the Airflow in a Two-Stroke, It Always "ALWAYS" Has to be jetted for that Tune or Airflow? Please! You will Kill the Engine if you don't? Good luck! They didn't have many four-strokes, when I was younger? I learned the Hard way!
These come jetted rich enough to where jetting isnt required. If airbox was opened up aswell it would be a good idea to go up a size.
Dose anyone know how I can get my 2000 srx 700 triple with power valve's to idle right I tried every thing when I turn idle screw counter clockwise it revs really high if I dont take the belt of itll take off I'm only new with sleds and wish someone could teach me how to set the idling to 1800 rpm but mine is running at 3000 rpm and when I first start it it verly idles at all and sounds like it's only hitting on two cylinders could it have sucked up dirt is that why I cant get it to run a 1500 or even 1800 i dont have the cash to get someone to fix it I'm out of work and just would love to fix it before I end up blowing it up
Please someone get back to me on how to work on this triple Yamaha 700 srx
@@sterlinculleton3139 I had the same problem with mine. Turned out to be the choke cable. Adjusted it and it idles fine now
@@123devinzz1 so you dont think it needs to be jetted? im nervous, i dont want to blow up just for a little more sound
