Love the idea that the battery can be standalone and used as DC options - not everyone needs a giant inverter all the time! Pecron seems to have hit a home run between features, price, usability. Looks like two thumbs up.

Yeah, the cost per Wh for a complete system is now basically on par with what it was for JUST the batteries a few years ago. It'll be extremely interesting over the next couple of years to see if Sodium-Ion becomes a real disrupter in making these kinds of solutions accessible to pretty much anyone who needs it. I can 100% confirm that you can have the following all at once.
e2000lfp = port 1 x 600 watts
e2000lfp = port 2 x 600 watts
e2000lfp = barrel port 1 x 100 watts
eb3000 battery 1 = 400 watts
eb3000 battery 2 = 400 watts
You can put up to 2,000+ watts into the full 8kw system (we have tested this ourselves)
fully tested with solar on the main and 2 ac chargers on the batteries with power meters on everything.
now, The only difference is the main power meter will not calculate correct until you restart the system and the power meter re-calculates. Each battery knows when to stop because of the built in mppt controllers that stop any charging at capacity.
P.S. So YES, I can 100% confirm that you can charge up to 2,100 watts !!!!!
P.P.S. But you have to reset the system when it is done so the meter can re-calibrate the power meter...

There is also 2 versions of the unit....
Version 1 is what you have (That is why you have to use solution 2 to set the batteries)
Version 2 has updates....USB-fixed protocol to 100 watts on USB-C (Your version 1 is only 65 watts)
Version 2 has 120v ac outlets (Your version 1 only has 110v outlets)

Hey Bob I have a question. The unit charges at 1200w but pecron states the batteries charge at 400w. Does the unit not charge the batteries at 1200w when they are linked together? Is the battery only capable of accepting 400w or is that 400w in addition to the 1200w the unit can take? This is the deciding factor on whether or not I buy it
We have done many tests and videos on this unit.
When you charge the main system at 1,200w, Those watts flow to the complete system to fill everything.
Pecron is talking about when you use this charging board on the EB3000 battery to charge it by itself. Then it can only bring in 400w per battery :)
We have charged this unit at 2,000 watts+
1. 600w on port 1 (5 pin)
2. 600w on port 2 (5 pin)
3. 400w on battery 1 input
4. 400w on battery 2 input
BUT..... Because the power meter can ONLY understand what power comes through the e2000lfp, it will fill the complete system BEFORE the power meter reaches 100% and then the meter has to catch up, This takes up to 30 minutes to do so)
Hopefully the new systems they make power meter will understand the power coming in through the batteries as well.

You are the only one on CZcams who has been able to provide me with that information. Pecron has them for 1500 Canadian on their website right now. I'll add batteries as I go along. I need to run a large deep freeze off grid. May run the occasional other thing but the deep freeze is the important one. I needed to know if I could charge the additional batteries in the average winter day and it looks like I can. I'm watching your channel now. Thanks a ton!
@@canuck7268 Please remember: Always keep an eye on you system for the first 30-90 days or so to make 100% sure that your setup runs perfect with no issues. Pecron did not design the system to be charged this way, It just happens to work this way. That is why the power meter does not work when you charge through all 3 pieces like that. So just keep an eye on it for safety :)
Like driving a car, Learn what you system "CAN" and "CAN NOT" do.
We charge this way sometimes, But we ALWAYS keep an eye on it when we do this :)
After that, You make the system earn your trust that it works the right way, Always better safe than sorry ;)
I was just planning on charging it through the unit. I was going to hook up 2x390 watt panels to each input and go that way. I just got confused when the website said the e3000 only accepts 400w. 1kwmor 1.2kw is more than sufficient for what I need it for, I will still keep an eye on it and it will be in an unfinished basement, cement floors, cement walls, nothing flammable nearby.
I am thrilled with my first day of testing/using my new E2000LFP....
First Test Results:
After a FULL 100% charge, (shipped at 66%), and waiting for the power brick to turn off, (it took ~30-40 minutes), and then applying a 315 Watt load and letting the Pecron shut down at 5 hours 52 minutes....
Watt Meter ONE = 1790 reported WH = 93.2%
Watt Meter TWO = 1814 reported WH = 94.5%
I would have been happy with anything near 90% conversion efficiency, but, even with the more stingy meter I still received a 93.2% efficiency. Now, the last 1% to drain took damn near 20 minutes before the unit shut down, and as I am not to be using this Solar Generator to this extreme all the time, I believe it was important to "condition" not only the battery cells, but to also "calibrate" the BMS to know/learn how the cells performed.... I am now charging - one more time to 100% - and then going to power my refer overnight as that use will be the main reason I bought the Pecron. This overnight refer run will use maybe 30-40% which will be at a good level for storage. When the next hurricane approaches I'll only be a couple of hours at most to top off before a storm hits. If this unit holds up as well as how it performed today, I will have made a good decision to buy this unit....
P.S. The term "conversion efficiency" may not be the best wording as the cells of the battery when new are maybe "over-performing" with the electronics having their own efficiency rating, but, the TOTAL performance is way above what was expected....

Hey, thanks for posting this one. I originally purchased the 2000LFP because of the promise of extra battery units were coming soon, so got the bundle with the "trolley" & the 2 solar panels. When the EB3000's did come out, I was put off by the price tag, as I wanted two of them. Then, like you stated about the negative review on Amazon, I heard the same story several times on the Pecron Facebook group & have considered selling my whole bundle & switching to EcoFlow Delta Pro series, which was what I was looking at 1st. Your video may have convinced me to stay where I'm at, I also shared it on the Pecron page. Couple of small gripes w/Pecron: 1. The trolley is overpriced for what it is & not big enough to add a EB3000, so IMO, makes it almost worthless. If I do purchase one or two of the EB3000's, I'll buy a furniture dolly & rack them together on that. 2. When most of the competition have their invertors built in, why couldn't Pecron follow suite? 3. I'm not a big app guy, but seems it would handy if they ever wanted to update their firmware, as apparently the newer E2000LFP's have a different version, since there's 2 methods of calibrating the firmware with the EB3000(s) 4. Customer service seem to vanish after the products are delivered & they've been paid. Still, I've been very pleased with my E2000LFP, as we have had a few power outages & it's kept my enough lights on, the internet up & my bride's beloved TV on. Thanks

Since the EB3000 had not come out yet, I wanted to wait until it came out and for your review of it. I am mostly interested in this to run a small off grid cabin for the few weeks that I am there at my property. I am seriously considering buying this. When you did the DC capacity test through the 12v output, I bet it can do more, but because the internal battery is a 24v, it uses a 24 to 12v converter, so there are some conversion losses.

Thank you for not buying in to the marketing that calls these sort of devices "generators." They generate nothing, but are very useful to store electricity that has already been generated.
i am literally thinking about just having the expansion battery and not the main power station. since it is so fully featured. and just pair it with another small 300w or 500w power station to give you the AC inverter when you need it.

Good review, a little confusing at times, thank you for taking the time. Overall you did highlight some real concerns with both these units. The company should be able to provide a clear and concise owners manual with the product. It is an inconvenience having to go online, ensure that you are looking at the correct manuals and download one. It is not acceptable when you connect the battery to the main unit that it would not reflect the parameters of both units seamlessly on the main unit. Having to go in and reconfigure menus, honestly-- that is not good. You would imagine that this could not have been hard for their programmers/engineers to make possible. The price for the main unit and the battery are relatively good value for the watt hours provided. There is better value in terms of features provided “app connectivity” and warranties on the more expensive units. So, hard to make an apples to apples comparison. Again, thank you for taking the time to post and providing all this information.
Good review! You mentioned that the EB3000 has build-in MTTP charging controller, but seems all ports on the unit are output port, how to connect solar panel to this unit to charge it without E2000LFP?

Hi, love your videos and now have the EB3000, E2000, and 2 E600’s. Quick question, I’m registering for the additional year warrantee and need help with the serial number of the EB3000. The sticker on the box is smeared and the unit would be a pain to remove to get the number which is on the bottom. I can read most of the number on that sticker but the first look like WX22. The other actual power stations all start with MY22. If possible, could you verify the WX22. Greatly appreciated!!!

Shouldn't matter if the unit is actively power-on or off when you apply solar or AC charge. I do those regularly without an issue and the BMS should handle it fine regardless of how you do it.
For me the price is not an issue it just seems a bit complicated. I’m just a simple guy 🤔

HELP!!! Great video first of all. I followed all your steps abd was able to sync my batteries. I live off grid and use them for my refridgerator. Anyway. When I recharged them the screen doesn't show them synced, so I did all your stepa again and it's still only showing 277 hours. What am I doing wrong? I charged them using a gas generator and took about 8 hours. I double checked that both batteries were charged by plugging the 3000 in and the light shiwed green within a second or 2. Any suggestion on how to get the window to show the true percent of charge?

For a similar price you can get the the anker 2400 power station with an app or even the delta pro. They both have a free 5. Year warranty too.

@@SuperBacDoc I just tried it with Tosot 12000BTU, it does NOT work !! Can't handle the surge. I got overload error. The Tosot uses 1.1Kw during normal use but I could not tell how much was the surge.
Would be cool if you showed testing on appliances- how long can you power a small heater for example, at your camp site…lights, coffee maker, hair dryer?
You can make those calculations easily yourself. All you need to know is how many watts an appliance needs to run (usually found on the label) and how many watt hours your solar generator has available. If you have, for example, a device that requires 50 watts of energy, and you have a solar generator with 500 watt hours available, 500wh/50W=10 hours of runtime for the device. Two things to remember: first is that the more devices you plug in, the more watts you draw, lessening the run time of any single device; and two, all solar generators do not make their full watt hour capacity available, so it's best to reduce the run time by 15% or so to account for this.
All you need is math. He provided the usuable Wh, all you need is to calculate the rest yourself.
Obviously…other reviewers do tests- I just asked if he would too.

Fridge time tests are pointless, depends on load, ambient temp, model of fridge etc. it’s far better to just figure it out yourself.
I do sometimes throw in some quick demos on common things, but in this video I didn't bother since I'd done that on the review of the E2000LFP ( czcams.com/video/qsGtuLXrUAU/video.html ) and it didn't seem necessary to rehash it again, when nothing really changes in terms of WHAT you can run...just HOW LONG you can run those things (which is ~2.5x as long with one EB3000 added to the mix). But I do take your point that not everyone would have seen that E2000LFP review and so some review of that might've been helpful. It's a hard balance to strike. ;-)
ReeWray I need help from you and your viewers. I just purchased the E2000LFP and the EB3000 expansion battery. that gives me close to 5000 W of storage. I did a 24 hour study on my freezer and it used 2.634 kWh. does this mean I would use 2634 W of the 5000 W system in 24 hours? I purchased the Renogy 400 W suitcase and also three 200 W Renogy panels and I’mounting those on a portable adjustable mount. so I’m guessing during peak times they would produce 800 to 900 W. i’m just trying to plan if I have enough power stored if we had a multiple day blackout. I know I have enough power for my fans and CPAP and lights. I would just like to also include the freezer. I used your discount code and paid $806.00 for the E2000 and about $1000.00 for the expansion battery.

Just got mine in January! Used it for the first time to charge my cell phone! Unit was @ 80% charge! After a couple of hours! It completely died! ????? Display blinks on and off! Will not take a charge when plugged in! And Ofcourse it takes for ever to get a response! Help?!

Been rock solid. When I'm not taking it out, I keep it connected to 600W of solar and use it to power a couple of DC Fridge/Freezers (and sometimes my main fridge as well).
I just tried it with Tosot 12000BTU, it does NOT work !! Can't handle the surge. I got overload error. The Tosot uses 1.1Kw during normal use but I could not tell how much was the surge.

Great video, Im new to this and would like some input. What exactly would be the remedy for running, 2 freezers/fridge and some outlets in case of a blackout.If there blackout is less that 12 hour or more than 24 hours ? Been looking at many videos
For less than 12 hours, you can probably just get by with a couple of 100Ah LFP batteries and an AC inverter (or a 2000Wh Power station). But for more than that, you'd need some solar recharge going on and so something like the Pecron E2000LFP (with or without the E3000 expansion - depending on how much buffer you want for poor weather days) and 600W of solar would probably be about right. Put in a manual transfer switch for your critical circuits and you're in business. :)

How will all these electronics, solar panels and batteries work in the event of a E.M.P. strike?
Guess that would largely depend on your proximity to the strike, but I'd assume they are not immune due to the electronic components they rely on.
In the event of an EMP strike, Power will/should be the last thing on you mind. IF the strike took out most all of the US infrastructure, "appropriate" firepower and LOTS of ammo will be a necessity to protect yourself and family, since there will DEFINITELY be "people" wanting/stealing the basic necessities of food and water.... I, for one, AM prepared 🙂
When running the 2000 and 3000 together, is power being drawn from the 2000 first and then the 3000 charges the 2000 as you're using it or how does the flow look?
I don't recall the precise behavior off the top of my head, but it either pulls from the expansion battery first, and then the main unit...OR the BMS balances power draw from both with a slight weight from expansion so all the cells remain at approximately the same state of charge. I suspect it's the latter since the unit does seem to always try to balance the SOC when you first connect them.

I was wondering what the cable that connects the battery to the main unit is actually doing, because depending on how this works, I would imagine that if you plug in something that uses 2000w, the unit as a whole may not be able to discharge both batteries evenly. Still, I am impressed at the 90% efficiency even drawing from the battery at the same time. I have just the main unit but will probably purchase the expansion battery later

Yeah, as I was doing the review, I'd gotten the $2799 price off of Amazon and didn't realize their website price was slightly different. I don't see the bundle on Amazon now, so might be something changed there too.
So can you not hook Solar to both units at the same time? Potentially giving you 1600ish watts? (2kw if you had two of the expansion batteries)
Well...let me clarify: when the units are connected, you don't want them to get out of balance with each other. So you really don't want to charge them separately, unless you disconnect them and then ensure they are FULLY charged before you reconnect them.

Overall, I'd have to go with Pecron. Slightly more $/Wh, but for me, worth it for the extra DC (solar) input capacity and UPS capabilities...and expansion battery being usable (charge/discharge) independent from the main unit.

Yep! You can use the AC adapter that comes with the main unit, or buy an extra adapter for the EB3000 if you want to charge both via AC at the same time.
