subscribed to your You Tube Channel on feb7th2021.A fan too, from age12 of this group also, I reside in the United States,.Mtv music Television gave the later albums, " Something About You" heavy rotation after it dropped as a new single. The MTV heavy rotation helped level 42 gain exposure as a band. I do admit the True Colors songs are more comfortable. It was World Machine here in the states because of MTV helped the band gain interest in the USA.

The Kansas City milkman is a metaphor for The simple Man who doesn't know, or doesn't care to know about what's really going on behind the scenes in today's corrupt political power structure. do you really want to know how deep the corruption goes??? Maybe the truth would irreparably make you lose faith in the human race. The Kansas City milkman doesn't know the truth, and maybe that's a good thing for his sanity.

@@MusicLoot it's been all of six weeks since taking up two bass guitars. Sure has me appreciating real players of such a fine instrument. My 2nd is my first build. My initial bass is pukka although it's design is mainly for playing while standing upright. I ain't either. Or neither. I've been a wheelchair user for some six years therefore a different approach etc. With build I shall craft a comfy bass. I trust.
I met Marc Kings dad when he worked in Albany prison IOW during 80's. Interesting indeed!
Are you an admirer of 42 work?

Ronny, I wish you the best in creating your bass guitar for your unfortunate situation. Sounds like you are indeed going to create lemonade from lemons, and I greatly admire that positive attitude you have. BTW, yes...Level 42 is my favorite band of all time, and I have an absolutely massive music collection, everything from rock and blues, to jazz, fusion, funk, soul, metal and electronic. Level 42 stands above everything I own. When I saw that this song wasn't on CZcams in the original studio version, I knew that I just had to upload it. Again good sir, I absolutely wish you the best in your endeavors, musical and otherwise. Vaya con dios, if you know what that means. Please look it up if you don't know the translation to English.

The question I don't see anybody answering is what exactly is the Kansas City Milkman?

Its a song about when Mark was a milkman on The isle of Wight.

I reckon it's some kind of metaphor because the whole song is totally esoteric to me

Here you go, this is the Source. 1950.
Yet, it appears the group added some stuff.
This mid-century novel by Reynolds Packard chronicles the world of an international news agency set in Paris, France. Why then the title? As the seasoned vet coaches the young and hungry cub reporter, "And remember, you are writing so it can be understood by the Kansas City Milkman. If the Kansas City Milkman can't understand it, the dispatch is badly written."
