  • I changed my coolant hoses to silicone and here is why. Also I install a Mishimoto thermostat for the performance. These "cool" looking radiator hoses are available here:

The Mishimoto racing thermostat is also available here:

I always like watching these videos because everybody's trying to do their work with just one hand. I do it it two and get it done in half the time.

This trashbag, "Flyboy", talks shit about people living in poverty and homelessness in other forums.

I found some blue silicone hoses for my crown victoria in the junkyard. I have all the special clamps except the ones for the small tiny hose on the coolant tank. Would you happen to know what size clamps those are buddy?

i just changed this radiator hose to silicone too. but i wonder, what else hose can i change? in my simple non-mechanic mind, i want to change all available hose to silicone. but, not all hose available for buy online. specific hose i can find is radiator hose. and else, just standard long straight hose with their own diameter. can u suggest what hose should i change? i don't want any of those hose to break when im driving.

You can't use fuel lines as silicone ones but I could be wrong not sure

I like all the Mishimoto stuff but in reality the thermostat will not make your engine run cooler. The lower temp opening thermostat will do just that and open at a lower temp. Once the engine is hot and the thermostat has opened the only thing that will cool the coolant is the radiator.

Ihave heard that you have to use special hose clamps with silicone.

Yes I use t bolt style ones so they dont cut into silicone

Mishimoto radiator hoses are the worse hoses you can get for this car.

Just curious, why do you say BRZED instead of BRZ? 🤔 The alphabet does not end with ZED, It ends with a Z.

Cooler engines doesn’t make more power. Drag racers will ditch the entire cooling system to save weight. Installing a cooler thermostat will stop your engine from hitting operating temperature and accelerate wear.

Running cooler makes less power. When the engine is cool, combustion energy escapes as heat into the engine. The hotter the metal is, the less energy escapes.
You want a high temp thermostat, but a better water pump and radiator so that your system can handle high loads and never let the engine overheat.

That was my thought immediately. Also, the engine tolerances/clearances are designed for a specific operating temperature range. Otherwise, what would be the point in the thermostat if you could simply run the coolant through the radiator all the time.
