  • Uzbekistan no.2 Nodirbek Abdusattorov is in terrific form. He won two consecutive strong open tournaments in Spain before he started his World Rapid and Blitz 2021 campaign. In the third round of World Rapid 2021, he was paired against former world championship challenger and current world no.3 Fabiano Caruana.       @theinvisibleman While I totally agree that these youngsters aren't exactly new to chess, I think a lot of older chess players relaxed a little bit during lockdown while the youngsters kept busy by continuing to train really hard. And once tourneys resumed, you saw a lot of players under 20 make huge rating gains at the expense of older 2600+ players

    I have some feeling that fabi didnt take this game seriously. Like, he got a brand new position out of opening and still played very quick with basically no thinking. Reminds me of nepo.
