  • My before and after photos look either the same, or the after photo looks a bit worse, 12 days after my recent TCA peel. Next time I think I'll go with a less harsh option. :)

I just want to say as someone who has done these tca peels, I didn’t realize how important it is to know your skin type because what I found out is if you get alot of post inflammatory erythema the tca peel can exacerbate that and you can have permanent redness. It usually depends on how strong the peel is and the only thing that helped neutralize the redness was picosure laser. I think your result is good but I am not sure if you have noticed this issue on your skin.

Can’t wait for more details! So curious to know how it compared to your last TCA peel and what you did differently. One of my friends did a strong peel and it took over two weeks for the discoloration to go away. Your skin is impeccable ! ✨

Aww, thank you! A few years ago when I did a TCA and it was stronger, I ended up using tretinoin a few times a few weeks before the peel. And, then I also took the recommendation of Platinum Skincare and applied a retinoid the day after the treatment (It's supposed to help speed up the peeling process). What I've learned now is that for me when I applied the retinoid after the peel, it made the peeling more aggressive and it actually lasted longer (years back). This time the peeling was quicker and there was less of it. I've read some articles that advise people not to use retinoids right after after a TCA, so I decided not to do that this time. I also find that your skin has gone through so much with the TCA, that I didn't want to put anything else on it for the first few days - I just wanted to let it heal. :)

@@LifeDIY I still struggle with retinols/retinoids and sometimes the internet gets me more confused lol I’ve heard nothing but positive things about Tretinoin and I’m wanting to hop on that wagon at some point. I just did my 4th micro needling session on myself today and oddly enough, this time the inflammation was as bad as my first session (same burning and tightness, not as much peeling) though I did go a bit deeper (.75) in fine lines this time. I just find it interesting and sometimes frustrating how fickle our skin barrier can be lol beauty is pain i guess! 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😆 Can’t wait for more videos! 💖

With chemical peels like that, you will look worse for a few days before you look fabulous… Just remember that
