I Finally Fixed My Excessive Hunger Issues on Carnivore/Keto! + Sleep Update
Are you always hungry on carnivore or keto? I mean, ravenously, excessively hungry? I dealt with this over the last year, and it continued to be a problem even after adding some foods back into my diet. I finally discovered what caused this issue for me. This is also an update on my sleep struggles that I've shared in recent videos - about my issues of waking up at 3 AM - here I'll share how my sleep has also changed recently and why.
I have spent so much time tracking every aspect of my life to try to fix the hunger and sleep issues, but I was blind to something that was right in front of me.

    Were you gluten free before you started taking LDN? I have Hashis, and struggled for many MANY years with different symptoms, drs dismissed me for about 11-12 years, I got to the point where I didn't/couldn't get out of bed, but I had to, I had two small children. It wasn't until I had pain in my thyroid, which scared me, and going in to see my dr for blood tests, and having asked for an antibody test for several years, he still said to me, "let's see what your results look like". And as usual, everything came back "normal" . .. . THEN he finally agreed to do an antibody test and it came back and they were over 1,000. (diagnosed in 2017) They are still high, over 700. I have been gluten free, dairy free, high histamine food free, everything free . . . with on top of that, MANY MANY food sensitivities and intolerances. I got to a point where I got sick of not being able to eat anything and totally went off the rails with food! If I want it, I eat it. It does not make a difference in my antibodies, it does however make a difference in how I feel physically. So I am trying to get back on track with food. I am going to look more into LDN . . . thank you for sharing your story.

    I'm actually watching your video at 1:45 am because I searched for "Sleep issues on Carnivore diet". Unfortunately I have been suffering with Chronic Insomnia which is one of the reasons I started carnivore which has been since January. I would go days without sleep and then only sleep a few hours and then go another day without sleep....etc and NOTHING works for me! I did improve sleep with carnivore where now I at least sleep 3 or 4 hours a night. I would say before at least 2 days a week I wouldn't sleep at all. I mean not even a nap....up straight 48 hours. One time I was up for 65 hours straight and let me tell you sleeping 3 to 4 hours ever day is a miracle!!! I still hate that I only sleep so little but I hope it will eventually get to a point where I can sleep 5 hours every night. I wish I could get a consist 5 hours! I've tried every single sleeping technique under the sun and nothing has worked but carnivore. My doctor told me I have the worst case of insomnia he's ever seen. So anyone reading this that is "only getting 5 hours a night" of sleep, Id trade with you in a heartbeat. Imagine the hell of not sleeping for days straight and still have to hold down a job, keep up with my wife and take care of kids....and yes I did take care of the kids from 2pm to bedtime every night by myself because my wife and I are working different shifts. Carnivore has helped me at least get a few hours a night and if I didn't find carnivore I would of killed myself by now.

    This was really informative. I was wondering how many carbs you get each day??? I am internested in Ketovore, and keto in general has helped me to loose weight and keep it off. I am starting carnivore soon, so I was going to do keto/carnivore hybrid diet. I just don't know if I should go under 25 grams of carbs or not. Thanks!

    Wow, this is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you. I'm down to one cup of caffeen in the morning with decaf the rest of the day. Took me over a year. This morning I had a half and half at 5am and I'm ready for at nap at 10am. With a slight headache.

      Good job on cutting down to one cup a day. It's not easy. I totally understand the fatigue and other side effects. When you do end up quitting, it'll be worth it. It's great your decreasing your intake now.

    Well I have good news for those who believe. The Lord/God the Father said that he heard the prayers and cries for a cure for cancer. He said that he will put the knowledge into a chemical scientist who work for a well-known supplement company to put a few supplements together who will discover a cure for ALL CANCERS. The FDA will try to stop it but will fail. This cure will not come as a medication, but as a supplement. The Lord also said that it will work immediately. (Meaning you won't have to wait a weeks or months to see results). This was said about a month ago? The Lord didnt give a specific time this will come forth, but if I had to take a guess I would say maybe within 2-3 years or less???? Just know I don't play when it comes to God and I pray this will bring comfort and hope. God bless! 😊

    Thanks for this video. I'm desperate to know what to do. I think I'll switch my meal time to breakfast instead of supper and see if that helps as I saw this idea suggested here. I hardly slept at all for two nights. That is not sustainable.

    I've heard about hypoglycemia in the middle of the night causing a cortisol spike resulting in maintenance insomnia. I don't think I heard about coffee causing the hypoglycemia in night though. But, coffee does mess with cortisol, and I think blood sugar too. I don't drink coffee or caffeine. My dad does though and he falls asleep super easy and wakes up early and can't go back to sleep. Make sure you are getting all your electrolytes though since those are also important for sleep, especially on a modern carnivore diet extra electrolytes are important. I think calcium and potassium are really important for sleep and magnesium helps potassium get into cells. Sodium and chloride are important too and taking citrate helps maintain the electrolytes from wasting out of the body so potassium citrate is great and so is calcium citrrate, both taken with food. You can also do some sodium bicarbonate 1/8th teaspoon per 4oz cup on empty stomach at least 45 minutes away from meals and the bicarbonate also helps keep the alkalinity, though citrate binds with 3 acid hydrogen molecules and bicarbonate only 1, so citrate is more powerful. Coffee also depletes minerals.

    The whole 10,000 steps thing was completely made up, a made up number NOT backed by science (it was a marketing thing for the first German Olympics I think) that has unfortunately stuck like chewing gum in hair for decades. So please, people, do not stress if you cannot attain this daily

    For doing TCA peels what is the strongest % on the website going over 13% isn’t recommended ?

      The strongest is 30%, though I don't think they recommend using it for the face. 20% is quite strong, especially if you layer it and prep your skin. Hope this helps.

    Have you tried calcium? I think calcium is the main thing for sleep and a modern carnivore or ketogenic diet can deplete minerals due to lack of bicarbonate. Dr. James Dinicolantonio talks about this. I would try adding calcium, magnesium and a citrate like during meals. You can also add a bicarbonate like sodium bicarbonate on empty stomach at least 45 minutes between meals. And, of course plenty of sodium to help retain the minerals. The citrate is more powerful than bicarbonate by a 3x factor to retain minerals and alkalize.

    I quit a 3 decade, 4-5 coffee a day (black) habit. Worst week+ of massive compression headaches. It was horrible. But I have to say, I didn't notice that much of a difference. But now that I'm off the beans, I might have one coffee every 3-4 days. I still love the taste.

    Hey, I am planning on using dermaroller soon. but i am confused about what size of needles i should use. My main issue is DEPRESSED ACNE SCARRING AND OPEN PORES on my cheeks and nose area. So I need Collagen induction. So as a beginner, should i use 1mm needles cuz lesser length neddle such as .5 or .75 mm do not target my specific problem. So what should i do?       I know that at 0.5 mm, you will have collagen induction and it really should help with the pore appearance. When it comes to acne scarring, in order to get better results you may need to go deeper though. I've never heard of anyone doing this depth while at home and it could be really painful too, so be careful, or see if you can get it done somewhere if possible. But, here is a study onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/ijd.17006 using 2.5 mm depth for atrophic acne scars. They found it to be a lot more effective than 1.5 mm. I have used my pen at 1.5 mm before and It was fine when done in small areas as a spot treatment, but I've never done 2.5 mm before. One other study showed that a depth of 1.5 mm to 2 mm would be effective for these types of scars. I don't think you can get good results with these types of scars with a roller, but a pen should be helpful.

    What has worked for me, with regards to hunger and sleep, is prioritizing FAT (energy) instead of the carnivores protein. I slice off a generous chunk of butter to melt in my morning coffee. With the body having had its energy needs met (I think) I now eat less protein. I also eat FAT (Butter is my FAT/energy choice) late afternoon/early evening for sleep purposes. I usually do a FireBottle-ish slather lots of butter on a mini croissant. So instead of being carnivore-ish, I believe this is called Lipivore-ish. #Lipivore or #KetoAF

      Yeah fat is important. It's awesome it's working so well for you. For some people their lack of fat can be a cause of the excessive hunger. It's a bit trickier for those who cannot have dairy, but there are ways to make it work and have more fats from the meat or other sources.

    I'm on the carnivore diet but a huge coffee drinker. This video was so very helpful! It explained my ravenous appetite and sleep problems. WHAT DID YOU DRINK TO REPLACE THE COFFEE? I need a good substitute. Thank you so much for your help!

    i did carnivores and kto too i feel so hungry i drink alot of coffee..not satisfied at all.i feel like i cannot think without going to coffee

    I am 65 and I have never had mammogram.. I remember when i was about 16 seeing on the News that Canadian doctors had put out a report saying how dangerous mammograms are. The news that even said that the report was saying they can cause cancer but that a high percentage is false diagnosis. Later in life around 30's when my doctor said i should have one - I just didn't say anything.. few years later i was told i should have one every couple of years now , I just didn't . A couple of years ago on social media reading though posts , someone in another country talked about how Canadian Doctors discovered how dangerous mammograms were but they were hushed up. I had just determined it is unnatural and through the years i heard to many stories of false diagnoses . I determined somewhere in my 30's if i get Cancer i will deal with it and accept what ever comes but i was not going to go for any testing because it did not feel instinctively right.

But, I also talk a bit more about my sleep issues and how it's been impacted. Hope it helps. There are so many factors impacting us. I did discover since posting this video that my glucose levels were getting too low at night (hypoglycemia) which sometimes caused the early wake-ups, though not every time. I don't seem to be having these issues anymore.

    So much enjoy your content. Hi, I’m Karla, I just did my 2nd Platnuim Skincare TCA 13 peel on my face and neck. ( I did my 2nd peel on my decollete on Aug 25th and did 3 layers and getting great peeling. Anxious to see if it lightens my larger, darker sun spots. Anyhoo, I realized I didn’t have enough solution on my gauze on my 1st peel, so this time I made sure I did have enough, just not dripping and wow! Did it ever burn. I did 2 layers and the 3rd I just spot treated. I wish now I had done a 3rd layer on my entire face and neck. Would be great if you showed what you apply to you skin after neutralizing the peel. 😊. I applied Fade Bright, then Luminosity, then healing oils and A calming thick cream.

      Hey Karla, thank you! I really hope the TCA peeling goes well and hope you get great results on the sun spots. I'll try to do another video on this coming up, sharing the after-care. Last time I did my peel, I really don't think I used anything the first night or next morning as my skin felt a bit too sensitive. I remember spraying it with water to soothe it. But, after that, I used some healing/calming oils + a brightening serum by Good Molecules. I have used tretinoin or retinols in the past too, but I didn't do it last time.

      @@LifeDIY thank you so much for replying. Yea, I’m a bit disappointed in 2nd peel on my chest, I started really peeling and then it stopped. Still same ole sun spots. I’m sure they’re a bit lighter. My face is starting to get super dry and wrinkly, so fingers crossed I get a good peel. Yes, I am only using Fade bright and Luminosity at night after hydrating essences and serums. Then a healing oil and rich moisturizer. Am: after wash) I use my toner and essences, then fade Bright, hydrating serums as well as a peptide serum. Look forward to your upcoming videos
