- We are officially ready to start customizing the 1959 Volvo 544!!! The first step will be to cut 4.5" off the bottom of the doors. This will probably confuse a lot of people but if you stick to the end of the episode... it will all make sense 👏

I believe that the material on the inside of the door is eliminate vibration and to help reduce noise. It has nothing to do with insulation. But then, I could be wrong.

It's always fun to watch things getting cut up. To each his own. I learn from seeing how he cuts the vehicle up, and creates new metal work to fix it. "Take what you like. Leave behind what you don't" it's simple folks. Watch and learn or just enjoy the show.
Why would you not brace the whole body before you put it on jack stands thats the norm. Why does the door not fit now?
Cos Chaddy likes to do it his way, which might be right, wrong, and even one of many, many ways, but MUCH more often than not, is NOT the norm.
Its going to be great when Jolene figures out how to adjust the sound levels of the grinder on the videos. watch other channels and see how they lower the grinder noise. a lot easier to watch without that insane whir!!
This is my mindset: Chad is a Self Employed Artist/Sculptor. Who is generous and willing to take us along with the essential and exemplary camera work of Jolene. His goal is his and Jolene’s happiness.

Keep up the good work both of you! I have an idea for you. Before you go on your next trip you should hire a company that will strip your cement floor so they can then put down an epoxy flooring. Since Chad uses the floor so much, it would be nice to see a clean floor. I did this to one of our 30’X40’ building and we used a maroon color that looked great. The other color you could consider is something that your logo looks good in!

Chaddy says he's restored many cars. Has anyone seen a car he's done a full restoration on? Is there one he's kept in either of them 2 sheds?, Any photos of one on a display wall, or in an album? If not, I suppose one man's patch panel is another man's restoration 🤣🤣.

Jolene, consider getting chad some shorter blades for reciprocating saw. It will be more manageable for smaller areas to cut . Some applications ,you will not be able to get a long blade in a certain area,shorter blade will do the job better with less frustration. Hardware stores have different lengths for reciprocating saw blades and will work on any brand saw. (Blades to cut metal).

Nice work Chad. I am an old fan of 544s and friends and I put a built 302 Chevy in one and it was a bad-ass street racer. Did 11 second 1/4 mile and almost no wheel spin. I kind of wish you wouldn't take that great roof off but I will reserve judgement since your are the artist. Good luck.
You have given me confidence to try repairing 87 year old tractor fenders that have some rust. I am 75 & purchased my first mig welder. Thanks for the lessons will keep watching!

Because people don't agree with things they do to cars, doesn't mean they are haters. Many people see things differently or do things in another way and offer their comments. Chad might to boost his reputation as a top chopper but I don't share that. Many of his finished cars look great and others are lacking. I am not a hater but I am not always pleased with what he dies to some beautiful stock cars. I love the Volvo and wouldn't try to make it a custom because to me its existing lines are beautiful. My three cents!

Why don’t you use any cordless tools
I have often wondered this also. ALL of my tools are 18 to 20 volts. Makes it a lot easier to move around. just have plenty of great batteries and a few chargers.

Cordless don't have longevity
Because…have you ever worked with dying batteries or forgot to charge a back up battery..I have and it’s a monster pain in the ass. Corded provides constant dependable power. Battery tools are good for small quick projects. But for hours of hard work corded is the way.

I'm losing track of what your current project is is. You seem to be just reshaping bodies and moving on. I realise the 50 is maybe 80% done but It seems I've lost track since then.

Thank you for telling us what you were going to do to it, I had really lost interest because I thought it was just going to be another chop top, and I had already seen that done to them a couple times, and didn’t care for it, but I have never seen anyone build a convertible out of one, so cool

I've followed you for a long time, Chad, but dam stop all the talking and just get on with the job. Think about what you're doing using the sabre saw. It was just painful to watch with a long blade from that side of the door. I can appreciate you doing it as fast as possible, but slow down and think a little bit more about what you're doing. You look like an amateur sometimes.
I first I thought you were nuts with what you did with the door but as I waited till the end I like what your doing to solve this issue of rottened out sill and door.
I was really looking forward to this car, have to admit I was a little disappointed at the thought of convertible. Only because I really wanted to see how you would chop roof however I reckon your right roof of will really suit this car.

Tie a half hitch with the ends of power cords, then plug them together. It can't unplug itself unless you break the cord.
