to make it clear: NCT is one whole group that consists of sub units. You have NCT U, NCT127, NCT dream and WayV. NCT dream was originally a group with all the youngest members and when they would turn 20 they would leave the group and join other units (Mark and Haechan are also in NCT127) Because of this Mark wasn't in the last 2 comebacks, (and in Boom there were parts with only 5 members because Haechan also had a comeback with NCT127 so he didn't have time to be in every portion of the video.) BUUUUT sm recently announced that they will make NCT dream (including Mark) a fixed unit (meaning no members will be leaving) :D

Hold on thatâs not really true, nct dream isnât a fixed group itâs a rotational group which has ot7. Which means during different comebacks some members wonât be in it because they might not fit the theme of the comeback. So technically itâs not a fixed group, itâs a compromised decision that sm made to keep what they want and also what the fans want.

Its called "Noise music" thats what we call nct music, thats kinda like their style
Nct Dream had a graduating system where members who turned 20 would âgraduateâ from the group. Mark (the one you liked in the first two vids) turned 20 and graduated, so heâs not in the Boom MV. This left the group as a 6 membered group. Haechan, whoâs a member of both Nct Dream and Nct 127, was absent from most of the group shots in the Boom MV (which is why most shots had 5 people and some had 6 people) because Nct 127 was having a US Tour, which Haechan was participating in. Also Haechan might have been injured during this time which meant he couldnât dance...Iâm not really sure tho. Last year tho, 4 members who were born in 2000 were supposed to graduate since they would be turning 20, but fans begged the CEO of SM Entertainment to keep Nct Dream as a fixed unit (this was before the Ridin MV was released). And he released a statement saying that they would be a fixed rotational unit (like Nct U, meaning that they pick specific members who they think will fit the specific song; for example if theyâre making a ballad, they will only pick the members who are part of the singing line, same goes for if they were to make a hip hop based song) So, Mark is supposed to still be in Nct Dream, but reason heâs not in the Ridin MV is because the other members of Nct Dream were already preparing the song as 6, but Mark is surely to be in future comebacks with Nct Dream.

the guy who got ur attention is MARK LEE (he is also in nct 127!!) he is not in boom because he graduated from nct dream. the concept of dream is that when u turn 20, you leave the group. (hence why he isnt in boom) but!! the concept changed now and the graduation system is no longer followed which means mark is back in nct dream! you can see there are 5 people in some clips its because their member, HAECHAN (also in nct 127!!) is busy on world tour and being on america with nct 127 thats why he isnt in some clips. but as a whole, nct dream boom has 6 members!

Ok so yeah youâre kinda right about the âfire dudeâ in the first two videos. His name is Mark Lee (a legendary rapper whoâs basically in every NCT unit except WayV). He kinda had a leader role in NCT Dream even though they donât have an official leader. The reason he âleftâ is because NCT Dreamâs concept used to be that they only have teenage members, so when the members become adults they graduate. Thatâs what Mark did, but very recently it was decided that NCT Dream will be a fixed unit and Mark will return! Hopefully heâll become the official leader of the group. And fyi, all the members except the youngest one (Jisung) are now considered adults.

SM made NCT dream into a rotational unit like NCT U meaning that if mark and haechan are busy with other promotions (127 or superm for mark) nct dream will simply promote as ot5 or even less as sm has said the dreamies will be joining new units.
I believe sm made this decision so the dreamies don't have to wait for markhyuck to be free in order to have a comeback, it's not ideal but at least they'll be in the basement less? đ

There was a graduating system, so whenever a member turned 20 they graduated from the group so that's why there was only 6 in Boom and Ridin'. The reason there was only 5 in some of Boom was because Haechan is in NCT127, and he was busy with NCT 127 comeback and tour. So Mark turned 20 after We Go Up, so he wasn't in any other comebacks after(Boom and Ridin'). Most of the NCT Dream are born in the 2000s making 4 of the 6 remaining members graduate this year leaving only 2. Fans have been wanting a fixed unit for a very long time since these boys grew up together and the company finally listened so Mark will come back and there will be 7 members from now on(no more graduation system).

Anyways NCT Dream is a unit where once you reach adult (age 20) you graduate out of it. Which is why you see some videos with Mark in it and not in it. They are scrapping the whole graduation system this next comeback though and Mark will be back in it :)

NCT Dream is like the sub unit for teenagers and the youngest is born in 2002 his name is jisung (He Korean) and then there chenle who Chinese but is born on 2001 and then there Jaemin, Haechan, Jeno,(Those 3 are full Korean) Renjun who is Chinese but is also currently the oldest but they are all born in 2000 there was one other guy named mark lee he is Canadian and he was born in 1999 but he "graduated" because he turned 20 - There system is like once you turn 20 your graduating from that sub unit and leveling up to the adult unit which is 127 and U but Sm (the company they are under) has found a new CEO and he has declared that Mark Lee will make a comeback with NCT Dream which ALSO means OT7 Full Sub-Unit.

since you're going to be reacting to the other units, ill explain them quick for u haha. so nct u is going to be confusing because there are different members for every song, as its not a "fixed" unit. the company will pick members from nct as a whole, from any unit, based on if they think they will suit that certain comeback. for example, nct u debut song is "the 7th sense" and it has 5 members. another nct u song is "boss" and it has more members participating.
if you react to nct all together, you will probably see "black on black" by nct 2018. as you can guess by the name, it was released in 2018 and all of the members who made up nct in 2018 participated in the performance. since then, more members have been added to the nct "universe" lol, and more members will continue to join, probably with new units too. watching guides to each of the units and nct as a whole will definitely help, but I hope this clears up some confusion

So the reason there's less members in Boom is because the rapper you really liked in the first 2, Mark,, left because they "graduate" when they turn 20 since dream is all the youngest members of the group. Mark is still active in NCT 127, and actually as of this year SM said that he is re-joining! So the next song after Ridin should have Mark again! Also one of the members, Haechan, had a broken leg at that time, so he's in the mv and he's singing in the song but he couldn't dance.
Edit: I was thinking of 127's song Wakey Wakey which was the one he didn't dance in because of a broken leg. He wasn't in all the dance scenes because NCT 127 was on tour for the first time ever & he could only be in a few scenes.

NCT Dream used to be the teenager unit. So when you turned 20 y.o you have to "graduate" from the unit. That what happens to Mark, the guy you liked from the beginning. That's why at some MVs, you wont find him.
But now the system changed and the unit becomes a fixed unit, meaning that there wont be any "graduation". So the members wont change anymore and the Mark guy you like will come back to the unit!!
If you check the release dates, the Boom MV was filmed around the time when NCT127 was doing promotions in the US for Superhuman... which explains why Haechan isn't in all the scenes.
Mark "graduated" from Dream in 2019⊠which is funny because there are indications that they're ditching the graduation system, and may be bringing back Mark at some point.
