There's nothing wrong with deciding not to support The Acolyte based on what you've seen and heard. Ditto that for sharing your opinion with others. It becomes an issue when a person or entity tries to silence someone for saying something or expressing an opinion they don't like. the trend is the number of reviews have dropped, episodic ratings have increased. Within the data, number of 1-star reviews (ie review bombs) have significantly decreased while non 1-star reviews have fluctuated within an acceptable deviation.
Also the data they presented in this vid actually shows the acolyte has one of the BEST viewer retention with only a TINY 11% drop between snapshots.
That’s much better than other shows listed.
Also using watched minutes is a dumb metric for comparison between different shows. Typically you would normalised the dataset with each episodal runtime

If people didn't care they just wouldnt do it. It is simply people disliking the show. For that matter if there are people that like it and actually watch it they would see all the negative press about "review bombing" and run to IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes to write 10 star reviews in attempts to ostensibly counter it. They are not because there is way less people that like it than hate it. This is an irrefutable fact.
Besides that the only entity that can afford to hire bot farms and ratings/review astroturfing is Disney marketing, which they do, a lot. With Disney's financial woes I often wonder if an extremely wealthy company head person wanted to purchase the Star Wars IP, Lucasfilm and Marvel Studio and 20th Century Fox and its IP's to repair the damage, and start making good movies with good stories, how much money/cold hard cash would Disney ask for them all? No way could *I* do afford it, and I realise that Disney would want a premium sum, but I often wonder what Disney's price would be.

Looking at the variances between star ratings as episodes have been released… it’s clear that the RATING will be much higher.
Ie reviews are significantly down, and the trend is from the difference in datasets, 1 star reviews have the highest (significantly high) variance.
Considering alot of CZcamsrs have done polls, many respondents state they haven’t watched the show, so I doubt it would greatly impact runtime minutes by a significant amount.
But I am also curious to see if anti-woke reactionary CZcamsrs would stop watching, how it would affect the score.

There are almost 2000 visual effects shots in that film... How many you think are in Acolyte? I doubt there are 50 per episode (and the ones that are are simple masking and comp jobs, not huge space and land battles with hundreds of entities that last for 15 plus minutes, remember the pod racing scene? Almost none of that was real, the Gungan city and underwater sequences as well).
Even being generous and giving each episode 50 tops out at 400 total (and they still don't count in scale plus they have the volume and modern Unity engine to do most of it on the fly in camera)...compared to 2000!
So where did all the money go? Cuz they didnt spend it on VFX, big name actors, John Williams, there is way less characters and the wardrobe is ass (remember Padme's wild get ups?). They also didn't travel near as much nor make nearly as many sets or use even 1/100th as many practical effects lol

DEI (Diversity Equity Inclusion) is a term used to mark representation in media, such that minorities, especially children of those minorities see themselves represented. There is some evidence due to the effects of systemic racism to support this.
But… DEI is often used by the anti-woke to label something as a “far left or woke agenda” to shield their prejudices.
For example Bridgerton is a period piece, where they go for more “historical accuracy” over representation. The anti-woke are fine with this because, for a lack for a better phrase, DEI components are set within their set class in society. There is nothing wrong with this in context of the story. Anti-woke seem to be ok with this as it seems to hold within their world-view (I assume)
The real issue comes when DEI is applied by the anti-woke crowd to anything else.
So should I need to ask, in a sci-fi show where there is a tonne of existing diversity… Why is DEI a problem? Does it matter if the main character is woman? Is a POC?

I'm sorry, but if women are not into Star Wars already, they're not going to start now. I think they need to cater to the existing fans who will then get their kids into Star Wars lore instead of what they're doing. I’m one of those that quit watching. I watched 1-3, then said no. The Acolyte has made me consider canceling my D+ Subscription and setting up a Plex server for kids shows and movies for my kiddo.
I’m a nerd who works with nerds (IT) and a point I want to make is that we talked about X-Men 97 every Wednesday & Thursday for 2 solid months. But nobody talks about The Acolyte. Not only am I not watching The Acolyte, but my friends aren’t watching it, my coworkers aren’t watching it and all of China is definitely not watching it...

You know Disney and their bot friends like to make some wild assumptions, comparisons, and accusations. I’d like to make one myself. It’s a comparative piece. This show cost over $180 million and looks like shit and moves like shit. On the opposite side of the spectrum, we have Night of the Living Dead. A movie that cost $114,000 then and would be around $1 mil today. Looks better, more emotional range from the actors, more care and love put in by the director and producers, filmed independently, was not mired in controversy, the actors actually love and care about the fans, directed by an incredibly talented man by the name of Romero who would change the horror/zombie scene, made good money off of it, and we are still referencing back to that movie in countless books, films, games, and music. The fuck can the acolyte say? Not a damned thing. Oh oh and let’s not forget. Who was the lead of that movie? Duane Jones. A black man with charisma, the harshness needed to make the role seem real, leadership, caring, and a sense for the audience to care. And all of that because he was a good fit for the role. What a novel concept. Back in the year of 1968. 56 years ago? Holy balls, by Jove, Great Scott, oh Horacio I think I’ve stumbled upon a fantastical discovery. Holy Wingdings Batman, the people cared because the crew cared and they did a phenomenal job, without taking a hammer to their audiences head like what happened to Pelosi’s wif….I mean husband.

I can honestly say that I watched the initial two episodes. I never take someone elses word over my own observations I guess you could say. Those were the last two episodes I watched as well. Now I just watch the weekly grift on youtube because it is FAR more entertaining than most "content" these days as it's not just The Acolyte that is bad.
The most central issue of The Acolyte is how poorly written it is. Even *I* could have fixed these scripts and I'm not even a writer. Although with the volume of "bad acting" and crap sets despite the budget. I'm not sure a good or at least better script would have changed much.
