  • In this video I make my first visit to The National Portrait Gallery in central London.
There are many hundreds of portraits on display in all kinds of mediums - paint, photographic and sculpture, the ones featured in this video are simply the those that caught my attention the most during my brief visit.
My favourites of all? Inspirational Falklands war hero Simon Weston, the only portrait of William Shakespeare painted from life, and the beautifully serene painting of the future Princess Diana were definite contenders.
    I hope you enjoy!

Thx for this wonderful visual essay and all the captioned insights. The redone NPG is a thought provoking gem, which engages the viewer with every aspect of Britain’s history and vibrancy.

That large family portrait ‘The Tudor’s’ is actually the family of Thomas More, after Holbein. I really loved this video. Thank you.
