@@55plusboxing I also noticed that you said you felt more natural using your right hand as your lead, Usually you would want to use your Dominant hand as your rear power hand. for example if your dominant hand is your right then your Lead hand should be your left thats called the Orthodox stance. flipped is the southpaw stance, but you say that you can use both styles which is actually pretty impressive. what i'd recommend you doing is Changing up stance in between rounds from orthodox to southpaw and southpaw to orthodox, this can be crucial when your in the ring or in a fight since your opponent would wanna get used to your style so you gotta switch it up so you got them confused and mixed up. To efficiently change styles you can quickly shuffle your feet from rear to lead and vice versa. Also if you wanted to gain more punching and speed you should shadow box with weights or dumbells.

I started out boxing training by just shadow boxing…
The first couple of months I stood in the southpaw stance. I did this because it felt natural. My right jab was strong, fast, and accurate.
I learned however that this was not recommended for right handed fighters. Every coach that I follow teach this way.
So, I switched my stance to orthodox. I struggled with my left jab… it was weak, slow, and not very accurate. I was motivated to continued to train this way by telling myself that I needed to strengthen those weaknesses that I had in the orthodox stance. I was still training in southpaw as well (about 10- 20% of the time).
After a year of light training, I found a new coach on CZcams who taught a way that I was very comfortable doing… he says to train both stances equally. Just like you suggested for me to do… switch from round to round.
I now train 50/50. I believe this way gives me more abilities, and options in a fight.
My left jab is much stronger, faster, more accurate, and a lot more comfortable now in the orthodox stance.
Because I continue to train in the southpaw as well, Ive gained more strength, speed, and accuracy as well.
I think one of the coaches was Viteri boxing out of Italy (awesome coaching).
I follow a ton of coaches on this channel and my main channel (Hillsberry MTB).
There are boxers who are right handed that fight very well in southpaw stance (what one man can do, so can another).
I think that in a fight, I would definitely feel most comfortable and confident in a southpaw stance.
I think Bruce Lee said that the power hand is too far away in an orthodox stance… I agree with Bruce.
I will focus on the technique mistakes that I am making (they are endless it seems). And probably spend more time in the orthodox stance because of my weakness that still exists.
      🙏

I’ll be adding the weights soon. I just need to get some. When I searched, I found some waited 20oz gloves that are same size as my 14s. I’m going try em out. I’ll look for the link … www.titleboxing.com/products/title-boxing-infused-foam-interrogate-training-gloves-2-0
