hi
Best accessory is Winny’s CZcams channel.
I personally use gloves on exercises that screw my hands up because I’m doing massages as my side hustle so I don’t have sandpaper palms
Yea they all have their place otherwise they wouldn’t exist. If you have shit knees for example, wraps or compression sleeves might not be such a bad idea. It’s when people are using accessories without considering if they really need to/should use them where it becomes a bit of a laugh.
I lift heavy and i have a home gym, i noticed when i use my own stuff, my hands isnt that fked up anymore, guess the gym have shitty stuff?
@@tklasson some of it is piece of shit ig but probably my skin isn’t that tough lol
@@tklassondepends on the exercise too, behind the back curls for me absolutely destroy my hands cuz the weight folds my palm up basically, it's quite painful but i still hit it cuz i love the exercise ❤️
If you're just starting out and it's more comfortable for you don't be afraid to use gloves. In the beginning I hated the feeling of the bar and the calluses that would form on my hands. I found I was focusing more on the unpleasant feeling than my form or mind-muscle connection. But once I started wearing gloves lifting became comfortable and I was able to focus more. I used them for years until going without didn't really bother me anymore.
But I think creating some calluses with lighter weight is better than building then with heavier weight lol. Your hands will get tougher together with your progression, like the joints. And honestly is not that bad, the worst part is the first 2 to 3 weeks
Gloves are underrated. Honestly, for the first few months you really should use your hands only and take care of of them by regularly moisturizing them and shaving off blisters and PAINFUL calluses, not the good ones. But occasionally if youre having pain or just cant hold on for too long because of pain (not grip) using gloves can help your hands keep nice and soft without compromising the lift. Though, I wouldn't use them all the time, just whenever the pain gets too much, and you haven't taken care of your hands in a while.
Today was my first day using straps and I totally recommend them. Not having my grip fail + the control it brings when executing the exercise are amazing
You ready for the dandadan anime?
@@niterush361 I'm ready to see the turbo granny in 4k 🥵
Agreed. I forgot them today and my rep count was 1/3 of what they normally are. 😢
@@jchan2299 Praying for you man 🙏🏻
Same bro I use them but I also do heavy rack pulls (2x bodyweight) to keep my grip as strong, i mostly use the strap for pressing
bro if it wasnt for you, i wouldnt even know what i was doing in the gym and at home. you literally make the BEST gym videos, so simple and easy to follow. thank you so much and PLEASE keep up the GREAT work.
wrist wraps are life savers, can only recomend
My only equipment is rock and stone
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?!?!?
ROCK AND STONE FOREVER!!
WE"RE RICH
YEAH BUDDY
MUSHROOM
Thumbless grip on pulling exercises will increase back activity & decreasing bicep activity
Sorry but I would disagree with u about the gloves. I go to my university's gym and everything there has rust on it. Also, I don't want my hand to be rough and hard. I want it to be soft and gloves help a lot with that. Maybe I'm a special case, but gloves helped me a lot. Before them my hand would smell like rust even after I showered
Lmao as if gurls would lift any significant w8 as to harden their soft hands.

0:28 on that video ^
I love my hard calloused hands. People respect you more when they see your hand.
Me 2 mate i just don't want hand pain and friction to lead me to failure
Same I prefer my hands to be soft. Without gloves my hands get calloused like crazy which is uncomfortable.
One very underestimated use of straps if for any leg exercises where you are using dumbbells like lounges or Bulgarian split squats. It allows you to simply not think about holding weight, even if you use two small 15-20kg dumbbells it might look weird but the ability to fully focus on leg/core work during those exercises is super worth it
think about legextensions doing 20 reps of a weight thats heavier than your bodyweight, youre going to expend so much energy just pulling yourself down on the seat
always a great day when trainer winny uploads
Sir, you forgot the hat or hoodie to fight the demons
He is the one who made body building so simple that now i am doing it and seeing great results 😊😊
You will pull my gloves from my cold, dead, callus-free hands.
Same :D MUST use for me
Your channel is like a hidden treasure i wish i would've found it sooner.
Wrist bands helped me a lot when I started lifting. My right wrist used to hurt after bench press, and it was more comfortable to press with bands. After a couple of months I forgot to put them on and noticed that there is no pain anymore and I'm good now.
I am 7 months into my gym journey. Noticed my knee hurt when squatting. I bought knee wrap and it's a game changer for me. My knee hurts less when i reach a deeper squat and makes my leg day more effective.
Thanks
Thanks for the insight. I do use bands regularly even though I’m a beginner because I can’t do a proper pull up yet. 😅my goal is to be able to do at least ten unassisted by the end of the year though! Your videos are awesome. Keep it up!
the belt was a game changer for me, i have powerful legs however i always struggled in squats cause i had a massive surgery in my lower right abdomen leaving me with with problems in increasing my core strength and stability. Since i bought it my leg days have been really goods.
It’s always a good day when trainerwinny uploads :’)
Another honorable mention IMO is an equipment that I feel is most effective on the forearms than any other exercises: The Wrist Roller, like after every set I feel the burn on the forearms only, even with very little weight
I use the straps because I have forearm pain when I'm using moderate to heavy weights
As a Para-powerlifter I can say that bands on the bench is not for beginners at all, it helps for handle heavier weights. You are going to have a spotter for this as well
The only accessory needed : cuffs for laterals raises. Game changer. ✌🏼
What are cuffs mate??
@@abdullahmalikzada3823 Search : cuffed lateral raises. Once you tried, u never go back on it bro
@@abdullahmalikzada3823 handcuffs maybe?
Haha I'm using the SBD sleeves and those exact weightlifting shoes, so this was really fun to watch!
Winny is also a mind reader, I have been looking for straps and trying to see if I really need one but now he confirmed my need and his emails have been giving me extra pumps.
I rewmember that I had quiet huge wrist pain issues back when I started. I got myself some wriststraps and kinda just went wirh them on exercises like barbell curls or benchpress.
Now since I started to train forarms and stopped doing any kind of barbell exercises for a long time my wrists also got much better. I honestly do not need them anymore and any pain I had is completely gone.
also barbell pad for hip thrusts ;) and gym chalk before defaulting to straps
I tried using wrist straps recently and it really helped with my shoulder press, which is good because I think my shoulders are one of my weak points.
Gloves are non-negotiable for me.
I don't always use one, but I frequwently use mine.
Me and my partner abhors sandpaper and peeling hands with calluses.
On the topic of weightlifting shoes I actually do put small plates under my feet and it's absolutely enough to help me get in a more upright position.
I used to think straps were useless until I used them today and they helped me hit a new deadlift PR while also making sure my hands didn't bleed like it does every week on a new PR attempt.
even though I dont use bands that often they are still something that I would def recommend. This because with those you can actually get into some quality exercise when you are away from the gym.
You forgot to mention the cable cuffs. They can be used for leg exercises. Also unilateral tricep exercises and lateral raises.
Totally agree with all of these, except the gloves. Doing bouldering and lifting at the same time really had my hands get suuper callousy and those things tend to bleed and hurt a lot in harder sessions. Putting some lifting gloves allowed me to minimise the damage at least half the time haha
Tough calloused hands are just a nice symbol representing your struggle and dedication. I like mine, and it doesn't hurt that much lol. And you just need to sand the callouses a little bit, put some moisturizer and your hands are soft again
I try not to use wrist, back belt, and knee wraps when doing routine lifts, but just like Trainer winny said, when i go for heavy loads in push pull legs, then I use them. the Belt and wraps help me when I squat 3 plates.
While I agree that a belt, and wrist wraps aren't needed right when you start, I do say a belt is extremely useful as you keep pushing your limits. I was stuck at like a 225lb squat, maybe slightly more. But it was stressful on my lower back (I've had 3 spinal fusions) I added a belt instantly shot up my squat to 275lbs, and within 8 months my squat was over 400lbs. My beltless squat also increased greatly easily able to go over 300lbs. It's a tool not a crutch, and bracing against it also activates more of your core muscles.
Wrist wraps are fine after you get a bit stronger, no reason not to add some support to them to reduce stress on the joints when you start getting heavier and heavier weights on the bar.
For me the only gym accessories I think are needed, is a good Belt, Straps, and wrist wraps. Everything else is fluff. But beginners just need to get their ass in the gym and start putting in the work.
You missed the one that was behind and next to you the whole entire time, which is gymnastics rings. Very good things to train your upper body, my gym has the yellow suspension system thingy which si similar and it really does help a ton in upper body movements. They also really train your stabilisation strenght, like how well you can keep still and prevent yourself from wobbling, which is very important. And you can also use them to do basically any bodyweight upper body exercise, and you really have a good stretch basic exercises like pushups, inverted rows, pull ups, dips and pike pushups and you can also use them to do isolation exercises like chest flies, rear delt rows, bicep curls, pelican curls which is so fucking good for your biceps it is crazy, tricep extensions and so much more. Then you can also practice calisthenics skills and other variations if you really are that guy or even add a weight vest to the mix.
It would've been nice if you went over lifting grips like Versa Gripps and Cobra Grips. While costlier than traditional lifting straps, they can perform better, especially for machine and cable exercises. You can't wrap a strap around a D handle or rope with lifting straps. For some machines, the surface of the handle is hard to wrap around with lifting straps. That's where the lifting grips come in.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the weighted vest. It's the only accessory I've ever purchased, and along with the ab wheel, it's what I consider to be the most important accessory of my workout.
You should do a tier list video or other video about supplements
Missed point on the weightlifting shoes, there are insoles on the market for cheap that’s just a wedge for your regular shoes. If you aren’t comfortable using the plates or want a more comfortable fit check it out.
Winny, is it maybe an idea to go over the most common splits? For exame
PPL x2, PPL x arnold, bro split etc. I figure this is a common struggle that people who are new to the gym face. Including myself when i was new, figuring out a split which allowed for enough rest and volume was hard.
Nice
Sometimes, in the gym there are bands, (or maybe only in mine because i go to a small gym), so free warm up
5:10 I think you should make a more indepth video about weightlifting shoes, as I personally have the opposite experience to the one you described. I feel much better on leg day if I use very flat shoes, rather than the raised heel shoes you described (I don't lift barefoot because I go to a commercial gym). In fact, when I wear my regular shoes that have slightly thicker soles and some padding, I feel more unstable.
Also some stretches
For me Versa Grips, Weightlifting Shoes and a Belt were gamechangers.
The Shoes make Leg training Technique so much better and safer. The belt helps on RDL/SLDL, cause it lets you fail because of your Glutes or Hamstrings not your errectors.
The most useless thing to have in the gym is laziness
I totally disagree on the belt.
For squats the back is much more of a limiting factor than legs.
Having a belt enables you to do more reps for more hypertrophy.
I did squats without any equipment for about a year before getting a belt and knee warmers, and it really helped to make my sets more productive ...
Cheers.
You're gonna need a weightlifting belt if you're lifting 80% or more than your one rep max
Other than that if you train your core and know how to brace it properly your back wouldn't be a limiting factor
I'm a beginner with barely 1.5 year of gym experience but trough most of that time I've been using straps because my palms were so much sweating during (romanian+)dead lift I needed to get them and they help me to complete all series although I lift bearly 70kg in DL and 50 kg i RDL.
My biggest accessory is the blubber I wear around my body
WINNY!! 👍🏋️
What do you thank bout arm blasters Winny? Recently started using one and it feels like I can really target my biceps on curls
Pls make a video on bracing
I like your email letters they always have some kind of story in it which makes you different in CRM process👍
I love my gloves. My hands don't hurt, and on top of that I can actually grab stuff and not have it slip due to my sweat.
Disagree with you on the Belt, it's a lifesaver for Overhead Press, deadlifting, Squatting, and even below the knee rack pulls.
Hey man I got a question
I have been having a lot of popping in my joints since I started lifting, I’m always making sure I’m using good form and making sure I’m not going too heavy but still feeling a little bit of stress in spots I don’t want to stunt my growth (I’m only 14)
I’ve switched from ppl to full body now so that I get more rest but please let me know if you have any other recommendations
I appreciate your videos man I use your workout plans at the gym and your advice has helped me a lot 💪
Need a video Push Pull Legs Video with all the piece of information shared in the body building simplified series
straps and dip belt is all i use, i bought wrist straps but barely use them because i quit the bench press.
We need a physique reveal 💯
what do u think about using magnesium before heading to straps to keep increasing your strength grip? Nice video, btw.
bro i fucking love your content
Hey winny! I got some lower-back problems for some reason, i think i got hurt even tho im trying to maintain good form of my exversies. Can you make some videos regarding what shouod we be aware of durring a workout...?
Straps are a necessity for back day. I have some Gym Reaper versa grip type things. I'm trying to train my back, not my grip.
1:09 exactly why I use lifting hooks (easier to use than straps) bevatte my hands fail before my back.
And I don't do really high weights, but I do really controlled reps surf store eccentricss
I only use the straps for my back exercises because my forearms used to reach failure before my back
The thing with straps is that after 30 mins-1 hour they really start hurting the wrist if put on correctly. And sometimes i forget to tighten my straps, but hey, that's part of the journey!
Please do Full Arm Day workout simplified!
What should I do to stop hurting my lower back?
Used to use gloves and got roasted for it. But they tricked my brain into lifting harder. Realized what I needed were just wrist straps, changed the game for me.
Do you like wrist straps or versa gripps type?
The only gym accessorie that I use is the belt and only while doing squats to help me focus more on the quads and I also use it on a really weird hamstrings extension machine that kind of needs a built-in belt because your bodyweight can become a problem with bigger weights and ruin the exercise. Also the belt is the gym belt so basically I don't even own any gym accessorie.
Shoes are also an important accessory for those of us with silly leg geometry. All the ankle mobility in the world won't get me low enough
Chalk!
Winny, as much as I don't want to ruin aesthetic by training oblique, I also do calisthenics and my goal is to do human flag, which requires oblique strength. What should I do?
Can you make a video about supplements pls?
I`m very strong on rows. (2 plate barbell rows for reps with good form even though i`m an intermediate lifter in general.) There`s no way my grip would hold onto the weight without assistance. Straps are god send.
The only accessory i use is belt for hitting a pr on deadlift.
Do resistance band content plz
can you do a video for plyometrics
Could you do another aesthetic video
Hey winny, is 6 sets per muscle too much? I do ppl split, for example I do 6 sets of overhead triceps and 6 sets tricep push downs.
trainer winny where is the holy grail of accessories the squat plug? I increased my max from 245 to 310 the stability and support it offers is unmatched
Trainer winny saying "If you need to use straps, USE STRAPS!" In a previous video is forever stuck in my head whenever people mention straps.
Ab wheel is good on it’s own. I just hard af.
I only use gloves during my arm training. The bars grinding back and forth against my palms fucks them up and I lose grip strength later on cuz of the hurt hands
It would be super cool if you made a simplified version of bodybuilding for women!
Make a video about supplements, vitamins and stuff like this
Can you please recommend some cardio exercises
I have VERY skinny wrists. I am still a beginner trainee but I need my wrist wraps or else I injure my wrists. It really is necessity for me. I would recommend wrist wraps for anyone with very skinny wrists.
straps is the only thing i've bought. i used it on left extension because there's only handles to hold you down. so the straps help me pin my ass to the seat
Hi winny i need some help i have been watching for some time and i am planning my workouta for every week but i workout at home with things like a chair, bench but no dumbells not even a pullup bar😢.so please can you conaider making a google doc or videos on the diffrent body parts and exercises but at home with minimal equipment❤
Nejsi náhodou z česka ? Jestli jo tak tvoje angličtina je hodně dobrá a nejde to skoro poznat , a pokračuj s kvalitním kontentem a ať se daří
Amazing video as always, i do still like my gloves tho. I am a guy and have had extremely soft skin since birth... All my female friends have told me their jealous of my soft hands and ask me which moisturizer i use... lol, i don't, it's naturally like that, it's just genetics. Without gloves, skin on my hands will shred to pieces.... forget about callouses.
In defence of gloves: some people need to keep their hands from getting calluses. For example, I work as a masseuse and thicker skin will hinder me at work.
