    Absolutely incredible customer service experience with Tesla's Rockville Service Center as well as the roadside service rep I spoke with. This car has been fantastic over the last year or so.

    Glad to hear it's been fixed. And wow no other dealer/ service center can replace a motor/ engine in 1 Day. Not toyota, nissa, chevy, bmw, Mercedes, need I say more. #TESLA

    Most but not all people who are Tesla haters
    Have never driven one. I was one of them
    Until I drove my cousins and was hooked
    Do you have Tesla mobile service in your area
    The screen bubbles and sun roof seems
    Like a job for the mobile service guys.
    Happy for you bro

    Telsa's ROCK!!!! I had a blown engine in my Cadillac 3 years ago. It took 4 days to get it swapped out. An engine done within 24 hours with a Telsa???? That is the GOLD standard. I'm finally going to throw in the towel. My next car (this summer) will be a Tesla because I'm tired of the endless maintenance and gas costs. Thanks for sharing.

    Same happened to me after a hand car wash. So it was the car wash that killed your drive unit? Won't you be worried that water is still getting into drive units. Has a water ingress issue? Perhaps when using a water jet under the wheel arches?

    We might be best friends after this. Car shield will warranty our cars fully except for the drive train and battery for like 190-200 a month.

    My 2012 model S had its drive unit replaced around 50,000 miles before I took owner ship. When I got it, the new drive unit only had about 20,000 miles. Hope it holds up! I don’t want to pay $10,000 no thanks!

      It's all about how your treat the car if your constantly beating on it it's not going to last. Just like a gas motor it can blow up anytime , piston, rod or head gasket.

      Tesla is a great car. As long as the drive unit and battery are under warranty. They don’t do unlimited warranty anymore
      I just bought a January 2019 model S with unlimited battery and drive train warranty until January 2027. When that runs out I’m selling car

    • @bossman4401
      @bossman4401 Před 8 měsíci

      You don’t want to own a Tesla that’s out of warranty. That could be extremely expensive

  • @livemeyer

    So Kyle... It's now 2023 and the 2013 Model S 85P I just bought with 39,200 miles is out of warranty. I want to be prepared in case the motor fails. Did it make any noise or have any odd behavior before it needed to be replaced? It sounds like you just ended up going out one day to drive it and it wouldn't work? I did just get out of a Toyota Avalon Hybrid which was a very nice car but still uses gas, and is nowhere near as fast as these P85s. I'm just hoping I made the right decision and don't have to worry about replacing my motor.

      I've been keep track of the Tesla vehicles (mind you I don't have one of my own yet) but if I were to get a used one I would start with 2015. It seems that year was when they start getting things right with the overall quality of the vehicles. I am with @carsandkyle the newer the vehicle the better insulated you are with the warranty.

    • @robertoangel4419
      @robertoangel4419 Před 5 lety +1

      It's not a specific yr. It's kinda like when an engine has a misfire from the vehicle just being used for 3 yrs. The misfire could be the injector, spark plug, coil or worst case you been beating up on the car and damages a piston, or piston ring.

    • @robertoangel4419
      @robertoangel4419 Před 5 lety +1

      It also comes down to the driver b/c if your constantly smashing the accelerator pedal it puts a lot of strain on and motor or engine. No different then a gas motor.
