  • Rebecca Coriams parents are convinced that their daughter was pushed to her death after being violently attacked on board the Disney cruise ship she worked on. How can someone simply disappear at sea, and why did the CCTV footage that’s all over the ship mysteriously fail to record what happened to Rebecca? This case leaves more questions than answers, the biggest of which remains ‘did Disney cover up murder? Em xx

I worked on cruise ships for 3 years. My sister has worked on them now for over 10 years. We have both hit some incredible storms. Being young, I never thought about the dangers of being out on deck during some of these storms. To be 'taken' by a rogue wave, I dont believe that for a second. I worked on the ships 98/99/2000, they werent built like today's cruise ships. Even back then, falling overboard wasn't as easy as it sounds. Thanks Emma for your sincere and kind covering of the cases that you do. 😊 💜

When I was younger, I wanted to work on a cruise ship. My parents talked me out of it. In fact, the look of fear they had on their faces was scary.
I don't regret choosing a different career path. I have severe problems with motion sickness, so it's probably for the best.
I think young women are extremely vulnerable in these situations. I'm glad you've survived it all and nothing horrible happened to you. That said, I think it's wise to have a tag team or partner to be with on these types of ventures.

I find it horrendous that the British Police wouldn’t share the report. I work in the NHS and we share confidential health records to individuals/police/courts/social care etc regularly. We just redact third party confidential information prior to sharing! If we can do it, why can’t the Police??

    • @suzimonkey345

If they’re still investigating & don’t want suspects to know that they do have some evidence, just not enough to prosecute…? There must be some ‘red-tape rule’ that can’t be broken.
These governmental departments are full of paper pushers, “just following orders”, bound by procedures & processes that are enshrined in law. (Even WORSE in this case!…international & corporate law!
(I don’t believe in skullduggery or conspiracy theories (in most instances) when it comes to most branches of the British government. 😊

I watched a documentary on the tragic deaths at the Disney world and Disneyland, trust me they've been covering up these things since October 1, 1972. Some of the rides were badly designed and a worker was crushed between two steel walls of an exhibit. There was a fire in the scary tunnel ride, killing two brothers. Even when I've tried to Google it, the articles tells me Disney wasn't required to report incidences on their property. Wth? A death is something you shouldn't be allowed to cover-up even Disney.

If the kids were crying at 11pm for Cinderella, she would volunteer to go sing em to sleep, etc. She had this AMAZING smile and.she was GORGEOUS! She passed in a car wreck before continuing her journey but, they all mourned her loss with us. Even kids asked for her and old guests as well. I miss her so much and she introduced me to you, Em. when i was on a cruise ship, i was approached by an adult man (i was about 13 or 14 years old at the time) when i was on the side of the boat. it was nighttime and i was watching the boat leave the port we were just at. it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. and in hindsight, those moments with that man were horrifying. he left me alone once my dad started to walk over, but asked me to meet him at the pool the next day because he enjoyed my company and i was fun to talk to. i’m very lucky that i chose not to. it might have been that he was just overly friendly, but it also could’ve been so much worse

I don't know - Tracey's story about Rebecca "banging her head on the walls" and "punching herself in the face sounds really weird. I don't believe that just because Rebecca got drunk that she started self-harming.
It seems improbable that she would consent to a'3-some' even if she was blind drunk - she'd have to have been almost totally out of it.
I wonder if Tracey or her boyfriend didn't have a hand in tossing Rebecca overboard.

Ive been on cruises since i was six years old. Im now 58. Its nearly impossible to fall over board or be swept off. Thats rubbish.

There’s something about cruise ship cases that just weird me out entirely, not that other cases don’t, but in a few I’ve looked into how on earth do people just mysteriously vanish off the ship while it’s out of port and I don’t mean unfortunate accidents. These ships have cameras and other safety measures, or are supposed to. Plus the ways companies will act after something like that happens just really bother me as big corporations don’t like negative attention on them and will try to brush whatever it is under the rug as quickly as possible as tragedies are “bad for business”. Not to mention their terms of service, if anyone remembers the whole poop cruise ordeal 😶

I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a series maybe twice a month about cases that were supposed to change ... things, the supposed "groundbreaking" cases that opened a country's eyes and all that. Like with Lisa Neusbaum - did things change with adoptions/foster care/child abuse? That's honestly the only one coming to mind, but I hope it's enough. Oh - and the families who helped pass laws, created organizations ... It would be great to learn how effective/helpful they've been. I know it won't all be good, but some of these have to have silver linings that stick.

And even if it wasn't large enough to wash over the deck, you'd see the ship ( well the reaction to the ship) tilting FROM a rogue wave. So...the fact they are not showing them the CCTV camera? Esp when it would be so easy to prove it was a wave that way? Yeah, not buying that. Not even renting it from Red Box.

The family should use the settlement money to hire a proper hacker to steal not only the report but also any material Disney may have. Cruise ships are very dangerous because no company will risk revealing any crime that took place on their vessels. Rebecca’s case is a perfect example.

How did the flip flops stay neatly by the pool while a grown woman was swept over? I am an avid Disney Cruiser and the Wonder and Magic are my favorites. The crew pool is right below the bridge. There are tons of cameras there. If there was a safety concern there is no way she would have been permitted on that deck.

Very, very sad case. Well it isn't really a case, because we don't know what really happened.
The girlfriend sounds a complete b****. How does she expect Rebecca to feel when the minute Devon comes back she's back with him. You just can't treat people like that.
I can't say for sure what happened to her. My guess she ended up overboard, because anybody would have a perfect opportunity to kill her and then throw her over or more horribly threw her off alive.
Also as you pointed Emma, Devon was laughing rather malevolently through the interview. That in itself is completely inappropriate. To have to be told by a police officer to pack it in, is ridiculous for someone in their twenties, which he must be.
I feel very sorry for her parents. To be denied that information by British police and Disney's cctv of the wall by the pool or whatever it was is deeply suspicious. It's almost as if they're frightened of something.
So, if they have nothing to hide then why hide the it.
Also, as you said why wait 5 hours to notify the Bahamian police, 4 hours to notify the coastguard and then give then the wrong coordinates so they search in the wrong place it's almost as if it's been done on purpose.
The police officer who only took a bare 7 hours to interview crew and passengers, should not be in that job. With it comes a level of responsibility again couldn't be bothered to do a good job so should not be in that position. Go and do something else.
Unfortunately jt may take years for all this to come out properly.
My heart goes out to her parents❤❤

  • @midget_princess2200

This case has always bugged me, they know what happened. They should tell her parents the fact they haven't makes it look like Disney have something sinister to hide. I personally think it's a more mundane answer but they are going over the top to protect the brand and the experience they sell. Bad move really because it leads to conspiracy theories and misinformation. Disney need to put their big boy pants on, tell the truth and deal with the consequences which I don't think will be anywhere near as catastrophic as they fear. If you don't acknowledge the problem and learn from it it will definitely get worse. Show responsibility and make changes to protect your guests and brand. I don't trust Tracey or Devon who knows what they are capable of given the narrative tracey seems so keen to push. Either way she used poor Rebecca. Whatever her fate at her own hand or not Tracey had a big hand in it morally. In my opinion tracey loaded the weapon no matter who pulled the trigger, if I were her I would feel emense guilt! The ones that live with the consequences is Rebeccas loving family. I hope Rebeccas at peace!

It's all very suspicious and it is sad that most of the time, these huge ass companies get away with it. Also, Devon's (hopefully I get his name right) behaviour sounds very alarming. Laughing with the fact that someone he had a threesome with is missing is just disgusting. Like, what is going through his head? Maybe he knows more and tries to joke/laugh the stress and tension away or maybe he is just a disturbed individual with a huge lack of empathy. I really hope they'll find out what really happened. 😔❤

I think Tracie and/or her boyfriend killed her. Disney probably told them they wouldn't turn them in (and/or would pay them handsomely) if they didn't tell anyone. Then they dumped her body overboard. That's why the search area was inaccurate. They knew that no one would ever find her. I feel so bad for her family and (real) friends...

I don’t think understand what the boat getting hit by a rouge wave really means. Honestly if you watch videos of the North Sea, you’ll get some understanding as to what a rouge wave looks like. There was no displacement of water? No passengers or crew reported the extreme motion of the boat? Yeah, miss me with that.

I personally have no desire to go on a cruise but I'm certainly not supporting Disney anything at this point! This is absolutely horrible!!
The fact that they don't want the case spoken of in public, speaks volumes!!
The family should speak of her case publically so this will be prevented in the future!!
I agree the more you dig into this case, the smellier it smells!!
