I just bought a Model Y in May when they had 1% APR.
I'm good.
MY are heavily discounted (6k) since last week in Europe/Germany, thus this might be an indication for stock clearing for the MY 2025.
Itâs an indication that people are not buying EVs. And the resale values suck, so those people who canât afford to pay for them are going bankrupt and having to walk away
@@kevinW826 teslas make A LOT of model ys due to manufacturing simplicity
and they have no problem moving cars, we are talking an inventory hovering at around 10k of all models in stock, globally, this for a company that pumps out over a million every year and growing
selling is NOT an issue for tesla, that being said they will discount Ys heavily to push them out as people wait for the newer models, which is fair enough, why buy the old one when the new one comes out in 6 months, but at a discount they'll move them quickly
sooner they can move on older stock the sooner they can streamline sales, orders, training, procedures, etc
@@elduderino7767 thereâs the cellphone mentality, replace it every two years. Why buy the old, get the new one? No one will buy the old ones, they pile up, they take up space, they canât be sold, people donât want them. To easily damaged and totalled by insurance companies. Wasteful human society. Destroy the earth to save it, yet thousands of vehicles lay on a back lot, rusting and rotting out. Thatâs what you get with EVs.
It is indeed an indication for clearing stock, if you look at the numbers you'll find that Tesla sales have increased a lot in the past few weeks, and stock parked on the airport is akready sold. But it doesn't have to do with Juniper, it's just a reaction to overproduction.
@@elduderino7767 exactly, why buy a two year old phone? No one wants one just like no one wants an old EV. Buy the newest and greatest and let the old one build up and sit and rot in the back lot of a car dealership.
Save the world by destroying it. Strip mining the world and creating disposable cars that last as long as the software is working.
Itâs why EVs donât sell and why people are bankrupted financially because they are overpriced cell phones.
EV sales have dropped in Germany due to subsidies being withdrawn, nothing to do with the Model Y being old.
Oil is subsidized $US 9T, that makes fossil cars subsidized $US 31.250. In 2025 the forcast in 2025 are $US 11T.
And, the imports of oil are more expensive. So, Germany are gaslighting their citizens. All to conserve their car industry, that drags their feet.
I dont exactly understand why should us be exited about model y juniper,it will have the same motors, same short life lasting 750 cycle panasonic 21700 NCA cells, same range, almost same interior with fewer physical buttons, same weight, almost same every thing,i think its not intresting at all, tesla should wake up very soon
@@ISuperTed Exactly! Sales are increasing in other EU countries, but Germany is a very big market, so it does not really show in the total numbers of Europe.
@@ISuperTedTesla needs to focus on getting the prices down.
You can get an EV in China for less than $US 10.000.
With high tariffs this is $US 20.000.
So, where are the model 2, and 2 suv?
And, the 48v architecture?
And, the 350-500 kw super charging?
I think that Tesla are more conserned about paying Musk, than building the factories they need.
The payment to Musk alone is 3-4 new factories.
Not true, but believe your lies.
I was WAITING for these news!!!! I am about to by Tesla in Norway. , was thinking about new Model 3 Highland -- but now I can wait for new Model Y. I hope it comes as early as Model 3 came - prior to US market
Really needs to have bidirectional charging.
Agreed. They all should.
Would solve a lot of problems
@@massimo7219 What problems? I can see it being handy thoughâŚ
@@fractalelf7760 you can charge another vehicle or a home battery.
Test Model 3s were driving around for what seemed like a year before it was finally released, and then it was released in Europe a few months before America.
Yes, but this is a slight refresh, essentially the same car with a few tweaks.
I'm more interested in lifetime of the battery than charging speed. Also, with all these different battery details, in the future when you want to replace your battery (a long way into the future), will they have a generic good battery pack to replace any/all of the versions with? Also, with top arm squeaks, are moves being made to modify them to make it much less of a problem. Finally, when i think of it, I think that as soon as different brands come out with VtoGrid and VtoHouse ability, any brand that cannot do this will be in big trouble. I think đ

So why did Tesla just fire 14,000 workers if they're doing so well , little fella? đđđđ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ą
â@@brucemitchell5637why do apple, google even Microsoft firing people
@@brucemitchell5637 To stay profitable
@@brucemitchell5637Have you read the famous book "The innovators dilemma"? I think it explains new emerging markets very well. The grow in waves. Ir's because it is very difficult to forecast demand, so at one point you'll end up with underproduction (and rising prices) or overproduction (and falling prices). This happens even in markets that grow exponentially long term. So right now, everyone has created too much production capacity, that's why we see cuts in workforce (not only at Tesla) and Tesla piling up unsold cars at an airport. Right now, the situation is changing again. Tesla was able to sell most of its overproduction in the past few weeks.
Elon reposted
"There is no new Model Y this year.
Please stop hinting that there is, as it damages our sales of the current version "
i can't see him posting this? link?
Hmm but when he posts and TESLA or other companies shares going up/down then what?? Also they should expect current sales drop at some point later this year anyway. since before 2025 sales will slow for the "official" release date... So SPEED up the development and it won't be bad :)
and then later... New Model Y on sale, Elon: "suckers! ha!"

There are many hateful people here, like they're part of the hate Elon/Tesla fake media. Tesla 3 and Y are the best and most refined EVs it's that simple.

I will watch them begging for a Tesla in one year.
Hey VikâŚordered my blue Model Y on Saturday and fine with it. Juniper would be nice but Iâm fine with the âoldâ Yđ
Thanks
Finally, I'm waiting for the specifications of the updated model Y. It's a choice between Zeekr 001 or model Y so far for me.
Go for model Y, everybody else will enjoy ONVO L60.
What country are you in, that you can buy Zeekr?
Strangely, I donât ever hear of any battery breakthroughs coming out of the Jeff Dahn / Dalhousie University collaboration⌠maybe the 4680 and refinement of DBE process is tied to that affiliation. But it seems like whatever they are spending on Dahnâs team, they are constantly getting smoked by the Chinese advancements.
waiting for a new MY in Canada hopefuly it comes soon because I have to order a new car by November
I like the stalks-delete because then it's easy for the indicators and the wiper controls on the proper side of the steering wheel in right hand drive markets.
Cheers mate
I like everything about the model Y except my understanding is there is no Vehicle To Home Capability. I want to get rude of my gas generator. I donât want to have to by a Tesla Power Wall to power my refrigerator and lights durning a black out if I have a Tesla Model Y sitting in my driveway. I want an easy way to plug an extension cable into my Model Y and plug that into a power strip and power my refrigerator and lights for 12-24 hours. Is this possible? I know the EV 6 comes with an adapter that makes this easy.
Save the stalk.
Thank you.
(Cbalmly chewing stalk) learn something.
No freaking wayv
never panic or hold grudges for something you haven't experience-never mind they're selling like crazy.
No stalk, no sale.
I don't want to reprogram 50 years of experience using a stalk on every car ever made, just because Elon wants to save $10.
The number of cars he won't sell because this ludicrous idea will negate any savings he was hoping for.
@ahaveland not really adapt or get left. I adapt, still can out brake ABS on most non-sport vehicles and out think most traction control in all situations. I still find those handy.
Speaking of variants. Singapore has a version of the model 3 highland with a 110kw motor. Thatâs because we have a car classification system that caps power at 150 hp for it to fall into a lower tax category. It saves about 7k USD over the basic standard range.
You cannot go on long road trips. Well any trips as Singapore is a city and a country đ
Pretty sure it software limited - motor is the same.
Yes I agree
I agree with your prediction of it arriving late this year. The later prediction from Elan is to keep sales going, to counter the Osbourne affect. I hope the new Model Y gets drive by wire and the 48 volt architecture. I have a refreshed Model 3 Long Range and love the quiet ride and better suspension. We will get a refreshed Model Y although I really want solar first.
Drum roll, Model Y Juniper likely to be same as Model 3 Highland. You give Tesla too much credit for changing things, we'll see, but my guess won't be big things like you mentioned.
I have the new highland. I like the new blinkers when they work lol. They aren't actually physical buttons so sometimes they get stuck or are not responsive. I've had many times where I'm pressing the button over and over and nothing happens or the button gets stuck. Great car though
That is dangerous
Last video about Model Y Juniper I didn't think is far away. Would be highly surprised if not on sale in a month or two. Expect will be copy paste from the Model 3 refresh. Correct Elon saying not coming until next year so can sell current Model Y inventory.
The Hiking Viking! Sam, Great show, as Always! Performance always improves the breed! The Chinese are fierce and do their very Best! Their cars are some of the very Best Made and getting Better!
Will the American models have LFP? That is what I was hoping.
I own a model Y LR in California and Waiting for a model Y LR Juniper in Thailand! I think it will be out before 2025! đ
i also like the minimalistic "no stalk" cockpit. AND you can get the sexy knobs if you want a more - for you - intuitive setup with those programmable nobs...
Stalk not stock.
@@ahaveland thanx
Yes
Makes sense for Tesla to launch the Juniper in the USA first as they have the batteries ready for the new car. If China and German built models are to have CATL's new battery then that may not be fully available until later. What they need to do for Europe is to make the M3 in Germany alongside the Y...the new tariffs on Chinese made EVs imposed by the EU will damage M3 sales here.
Vematum's impact on metaverses could be revolutionary. Glad to be in early!
I'm not even a Tesla fan, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new Y; I won't consider any other Tesla. If they have a RWD long-range, I might upgrade from my current ev.
You are making me want to wait for next years model y
If you want the stalks, better buy one now!
@@rozonoemi9374 Not necessarily. there are companies that have designed aftermarket stalks for the Model Y so that could be an option worse case scenario.
@@Teknomanslade2 Where can we find those?
@@rozonoemi9374 go to google and type in This $400 Tesla Aftermarket Part Fixes One Very Controversial Feature

I'm waiting for the Juniper to come online to decide if I'll buy it or the Xpeng G6. Though the supercharger network is a huge plus!
M3 & Y are based on a 400 V architecture so I doubt that the chargingspeed will be much higher on the new version
Yes, with 400 V, we are limited to 250 kW on the charger"s end. However, if the battery was able to take more than that, it would also mean that 250 kW could be achieved for a longer time (instead of only the first minute of charging). So even if max power was the same, the battery could be charged a lot quicker.
Come on, Model Y is not old at all!.. It is on the road in Europe for just 3 years now! Normally a refresh of a car model happens about every 5 years.
it is old and we need more for our bucks.
It is ancient in *"EV standards"* âď¸
nothing wrong with the first gen Y's
great if you are in the market, they'll want to move old stock out sharpish to update/streamline their internal processes, skip the newer model for an additional 5-10% off?
assuming they don't drop the Y's price on the new line
Still a better EV than anything else any where near that price but people see the Highland upgrades and are waiting for those on the Y
Just increased my holdings in Vematum. Feeling confident about this one!
Pretty bummed that the US wonât get Shenxing.
Tarriff baby on Chyna.
Both Model Y & Model 3 highland should change their battery as well to newer ones, example BYD blade battery v2, Shenzhen, Golden battery from Geely, etc. are more newer and better.
The kinks are being worked out of the new CATL batteries. When they released they will be good. Quick charging for one.
@@allangraham970 abosolutely. They have fast charging cabability, higher energy density, more range, ligheter in weight, etc. It might be one of the reason that Tesla is lowering prices with the current models because new ones with new battery are coming soon. If they use the new batteries it will be almost 50% better in all aspects. It is exciting time to see when Tesla does this changes
It'll be interesting to see the Juniper specs whenever they come out. If the batteries are capable of giving the car 20% more milage, will they keep to the same range and just reduce the size of the battery, which inturn will reduce the weight? Im not sure if a longer range than what they have now is a priority for them? Probably the biggest concern with evs for most people, is the thought of needing to replace the battery, even though they are guaranteed for 8yrs. If they can greatly reduce the cost for a battery change, I feel a lot more people would be happy to crossover from ice. If you were happy to replace the battery after 8 years or whenever the battery failed, could they still supply a battery? With how fast the technology is changing, could a new battery even be installed in an 8yr + old car?
Morning mate
Iâve never driven a Tesla (not a hater), there is one thing that Iâd like to see on them, and that is vehicle speed in my line of sight, ideally a head up display. I donât like the thought of having to glance across to the centre display just to check my speed. Granted, this might be something you adjust to (well, would have to really), but it feels less than ideal to me.
There is a GPS speed app you can use which can show the display mirrored for use as a HUD.
Personally, autopilot manages speed, so you don't need to keep glancing at it because you know it's not going to take you over the limit if you don't want it to.
Otherwise I know pretty well what speed I'm doing without needing to keep checking, and the speed is displayed prominently next to the steering wheel on top left of the screen.
I drive to the road conditions, as the speed limit is not a target!
@@ahaveland thanksâŚ.I think Iâve seen devices which plug into the OBD connector and provide a HUD unit which you can mount infront of you. Think Iâd investigate something like this if/when I get a Tesla. Maybe having the speed in the top left of the display would be sufficient, but it doesnât seem ânaturalâ to me.
@@TheLDunn1 I've done 20,000 km since I got mine in December at age 60.
No issues getting used to it at all. Just an amazing voyage of discovery with the alien tech and instant power. Am driving it with every spare minute I get!
Driven all over Europe - have not received any speeding tickets at all, but I did get a fine through the post once for inadvertently using a toll highway in Slovakia.
Your worries are unfounded - give it a try.
I don't get it: if the market cannot wait for the upgraded model Y, they could just fix a M3 front bumper on and change the rear end in the M3 style and they could make everyone happy. That would be in the style of every other legacy car company. Instead, they're redesigning the whole damned car by the looks of it?!
If it looks that old, how come they are still # 1 at BEV sale & most sold car in the world?
Vematum's low presale price is a steal. Time to load up!
I personally love the stalkless design. I've had it on my X for nearly two years. The only thing that I didn't love was the capacitive horn button originally on the car. I replaced it with the newer airbag horn design, which is 100X better.
What I really want to know about it is Battery Type and Range next thing is Hardware 5 on the Menu. At least a stalk for turn signals would be nice and having the park brake on the stalk is hard to get used to . Last chance to buy a stalk might be a selling point. Also Porsche never changes there design that much and it's a selling point. Model 3 had no giga castings so maybe the basic chassis will not change that much.
Vematum's roadmap looks promising. Exciting times ahead!
Vematum stands out in the crowded crypto space. A real gem!
Buy a nice EV with miserable range, but a good price. In 3 years you will be able to buy an inexpensive replacement battery pack for it that will double its range. So many people don't understand that by the time the battery pack reaches its end of warranty, or even less that generic replacement battery packs are going to be very cheap and very long-range.
Structural battery packs may be harder to teplace
I bought a nice EV with good range, like this approach more than having to live with miserable range.
No common battery standard, so no certainty that new batteries in 3 years will be compatible..
I live in Thailand and the Model Y comes from China but it doesnât have the semi-updated interior. Seems odd that they would make two interiors from the same factory. Are you sure the Chinese market cars have the interior ambient light strip?
I wanna know if they will increase the price when the new y is released
Vematum's team is top-notch. Expecting big developments soon!
6 months before Model 3 Highland in first markets ( Europe/China ) there were the same tests as today we see with Model Y.
Therefore in 6 months there will be Model Y Higland in firsts markets ( probably USA/Europe/China this time )
Model Y Juniper/Oppal will be sold about January 2025.
Did I see an instrument panel behind the steering wheel for the driver?
It would be nice and it would be a smart thing to do.
At least a heads up display.
That part of video is from model S / X obviously
Tesla is in a bit hurry with that facelift: Model Y sales have tanked 50% in several European countries.
can't wait to see charge test with the new battery
Manufacturing start for 2025 model is usually in Oct/Nov 2024. AKA you can have a "X" model year that was made in the previous year.
I think they are very worried about robing their own sales of course. We currently get california Ys in Canada but Chinese 3s. Hope we get the Chinese Ys.
November.
Vematum's whitepaper blew me away. VEM is the future of crypto!
If they can hit the same suspension comfort as the Highland, I will change my Highland to a Juniper to get a bit more ground clearance and practicality. Highland is super low - I am scraping speed bumps and steep curbs.
Stalks are gone for Tesla - live with it or buy something else..
âOsborne effectâ is already affecting sales. They will roll out the updated Y as soon as possible.
Good riddance to the stalks- although my 2019 Tesla obviously has stalks, Iâve driven the new 3 and LOVE the lack of stalks. Eg: if it was optional Iâd pay extra to NOT have them.
Sam loads of model y in Brisbane. Don't think regular people are waiting for the update. It's more like Tesla fans that are waiting.
You are probably correct.
A lot of people buy things without researching.
Proof is so many (well to do) people bought that stupid "hydrogen" car đ¤Śđź
@@icosthop9998 40 years ago people were calling battery vehicles stupid even though they were being used in a wide range of applications. There has to be another source of energy other than electricity in my opinion.
model Ys are produced in massive quantities due to manufacturing simplicity compared to other models
last time i looked they had global stock of all EVs around 10k, Y's were around 7k of those
they sell more Y's than anything else, it's just down to the sheer manufacturing output that results in the ratio, they still move them out of inventory ridiculously fast, we are talking about 2-3 months, compare that to legacy auto of 2-4 years!
Need to add DOG seat LOL
I think Elon Musk means with Juniper a 48v version Model Y. But he said small step by step interior or exterior changes will still happen in 2024. This can include the other buttonsetup, the new light design language and the display in the back.
Essentially, the new Model Y "Juniper" is essentially using much of the underpinnings of the Model 3 "Highland." Hopefully, the Model Y "Juniper" will offer the same stalk mounted controls as the current model to avoid the transition issues of the Model 3 "Highland."
What if they start shipping in December 2024?
In the next bull run, keep an eye on DOT, VRA, and SOL, but don't overlook Vematum's VEM
I don't see them introducing the Juniper update this year at all because they are laser focused on FSD, Robotaxi, ramping up mega packs and optimus projects.
Elon will not introduce a new model Y as long as you keep saying Tezla instead of Tesla! The difference between z and s is there for a reason! đ¤Ł
Tesla is a European name and is pronounced TeZla .
Listen to how Elon pronounces itâŚ. With a âZâ
Hey Sam, Ilon will hold the car until 2025 even if it's ready - 100%. He already said so and we will not risk having low credibility over something so small and yet very relevant to customer trust. That's my op anyway :)) Cheers!
Also Elon does not have a good track record of delivering before his set dateđ. Many might think if he said it shipping in 2 Week's, you would be lucky to see it before 2026đ
Please save the stalk!
You know it wonât happen. It will be gone
@theelectricviking Now I see youâre a proper cyclist! You grow in my eyes!
Just filled my diesel up. Love it. But heavily invested in Tesla just to be safe
Diesel is an abomination
Stand behind it while it's running and breathe deeply.... still love it?
I own a diesel too. My money over the last 5 years goes into TSLA. I might buy a Tesla after the share price goes above $585.
Canât wait to put in my preorder for the Model Y Osborne!
My theory is that we will get a iPhone like launching: they will start retooling of all the line in November, and we can get the new model at the 1/1/25.
Europe did impose extra taxes on Chinese cars from outside of Europe. So probably most model Y production is going to be sold in Europe đ
Surely this is a testbed vehicle for FSD HW5 RoboTaxi
I just hope it has its own look, not just hump-backed Model 3.
Elon is not lying in that he is actually mean next " model" year. All car manufacturers start making next year models around July-August to stock for distribution to dealers for sale in Sept- Oct. Standard practice.
I have always wondered why there is not a standardised battery pack with standard sizes so that as technology gets better you can swap the old battery pack out easily for a new one
Be great if everything in the car was swappable with many suppliers for each part. Make maintaining the car much cheaper
Planned Start-Of-Production is 2025. I know for sure. Thank me later.
If we are starting to see model Y Juniper being tested right now, then that means theyâll start to be sold in the year 2025.
Is common for auto industry to release new models in the last quarter of the year. And because is at the end they will name it model current year + 1.
New model Y 2025 will launch in October/November this year but not sure if will be available on all the markets from this year.
Thatâs why Elon said that this year no Model Y refresh will appear, because it will be a 2025 model and probably as for Model 3, wonât be available in US from this year.
No stalk, no sale.
Tesla should hire 6 people to constantly drive around public places in Tesla models with disguise kits on. This way it wonât be a news item when someone spots them and posts ânew model due in soonââŚit will keep everyone guessing.
MUSK DOESN'T Want to Osbourne Effect the Model Y, that why he said no Juniper this year. Even if that's true you know Juniper is landing right at the beginning of 2025 (January)
I think it will be announced close to end of the year.. and then won't be delivered until q2 next year
Don't think we will see a new battery chemistry
No way they leave the stalks on the Y. Itâs all about streamlining manufacturing
The IIHS is mandating that physical buttons be on all cars for 2026/2027 to be considered a Top Safety pick. And the US government is considering mandating breathalyzers and speed limiters be in all cars for the same year. Have fun not driving your EV when youâre drunk. The FSD wonât work in that case
â@kevinW826 Good, no one needs drunk drivers on the road driving .
@@kevinW826Same for NCAP:
âEuro NCAP, and its Australian counterpart, ANCAP, urge manufacturers to incorporate physical buttons for crucial functions. These include indicators, hazard lights, horns, warning lights, windscreen wipers, and emergency âSOSâ features. The move aims to enhance driver safety by minimising distractions caused by touchscreens.
âNew Euro NCAP tests due in 2026 will encourage manufacturers to use separate, physical controls for basic functions in an intuitive manner, limiting eyes-off-road time and therefore promoting safer driving,â said Euro NCAP Director of Strategic Development Matthew Avery.
Meanwhile, ANCAP CEO Carla Hoorweg told the press, âPhysical buttons or stalks to operate these key vehicle controls will be encouraged through scoring, with manufacturers awarded points for the prioritisation of physical controls.â
The automotive industry, led by Tesla, has been shifting towards touchscreens to reduce manufacturing costs. However, the overreliance on touchscreens has raised concerns about driver distraction.
In response to the growing issue of touchscreens causing distractions, ANCAP also emphasised the importance of easily accessible controls.
âWe know driver distraction is a growing factor in road crashes, so it is important that certain in-vehicle controls are easily accessible by the driver and donât complicate the driving task or contribute to in-car distraction or inattention,â Ms. Hoorweg saidâ
Don't you mean - "It's all about increasing profits".
I made a comment that NCAP will be making physical buttons necessary to receive a 5 star rating wiki be necessary from 2026, but it has been removed. I wonder why? The line âphysical buttonsâ would also make the capacitive buttons used for indicators not enough. From the ETEC website: ââThe overuse of touchscreens is an industry-wide problem, with almost every vehicle-maker moving key controls onto central touchscreens, obliging drivers to take their eyes off the road and raising the risk of distraction crashes.
âNew Euro NCAP tests due in 2026 will encourage manufacturers to use separate, physical controls for basic functions in an intuitive manner, limiting eyes-off-road time and therefore promoting safer driving.ââ
They will have to modifiy/upgrade all production lines.
My prediction, they will do it end of 2024 and juniper production will start in Q1/2025.
4680 performance is already obsolete and behind the best LFP from China. Iâd give up a little extra power in return for 100% charging capacity between charges. Iâll live with 0-60 in 4.5 seconds đ
Isnât the Chinese batteries tariffed? If it is wouldnât it cost more if Tesla uses it in the American made teslas? Just wondering
đđťđđťđđťâđť
Will show up in 8/8
I'm waiting. I can wait til 2025 if need be.
The Y may come in 2024 in China, but America won't get juniper till 2025 in my opinion. No stalks on Y, they'd copy model 3. Seeing juniper tests is compelling.
We need a ute. Battery, motor, aircon, heater and nothing else. đ đđ¤đđ¤âď¸đ¸
