Small hatches and city cars 400km range is fine.
But for Australia, 900km range is what you get from a hybrid. That's what's needed for Bev's to be competitive for all round use.

You must have a iron bladder. I find a 2.5-3.0 hr drive in my Tesla and then a 15-25 minute charging stop is great. Just enough time to have a bathroom break, get a snack/drink, and walk the dog. And I don't have to do oil changes, transmission fluid changes, no spark plug changes, etc., etc.

Even a Tesla Y - which is the most efficient SUV - would get nowhere near 900kms on a 100kwh battery. I just drove a Tesla Y LR and got around 200wh/km with a couple of quick motorway stints. So around 600kms real world range for the Zeekr long range. Getting it to just 700 or 800 you would need to really eco driving.
But that is still very impressive. I wish Tesla would throw a 100kw battery in the model Y giving it a real world range of 600kms. And then 10-80 charging in 10mins - wow, bye ICE.

There's a point where range is absurd. What if I told you that Tesla is about to come out with a car that has 1000 miles of range? Is that what you need? I thought that I needed 400 miles of BEV range to buy a BEV. I find that 280-300 miles is more than sufficient in my Model Y. About 2.5-3.0 hrs of driving and then a 15-25 minute charging stop. Barely enough time to have a bathroom break, get a snack/drink, and walk the dog. 550 miles of range is kind of absurd, in my eyes. You certainly don't need it for your daily drive and you're just lugging around an expensive battery you don't need 99% of the time. Give me a smaller battery and less cost.

If you put out a new car and want to promote it, just communicate, it will have 700+ km range. Podcasters and newspapers will immediately talk about it. And the best is, nobody can test the model at this time and maybe prove the specs wrong. So math is very important. 900km with 100kwh would mean 9kwh/100km. Wow! They do what nobody so far was capable of. Not even Tesla comes close to it. So let´s see, what will be fact, once it is really available.

They can capture that sliver of animal-rights people while explaining to those who don't care as much, "Well, low-carbon and animal rights go hand-in-hand." In Tesla's case, I think it was a smart move, because we know the ADDITIONAL amplified hate they would get otherwise.

Hello, I don't understand how such data related to the performance of this car can be thrown into the market? 900 km range with only 100 kwh battery! It results in a consumption per 100 km of only 11 kw! I repeat, I have and had all Tesla models from the M3 to the MX. The lowest consumption that I could have but for a short period, in ideal weather conditions of 15C⁰ was 15-16 KW/100km. with M3 LR. So, even with the launch of such specifications in the market related to e.g. of this Geely. The car must weigh at least 2,200 kg, and the aerodynamics cannot be better than a Tesla MS. Isn't it better to give real values? That is, if the manufacturer announces a 900 km range, the real range will be 900 - 35%, i.e. 500 - 550 km. in ideal weather and traffic conditions.

My house has a 240 V, 200 amp servicce. About 50 Kwatts. So this car would use the power required by 11 houses drawing maximum power. ( Many houses have a 100 amp service ). I understand a Tesla Supercharger is 250 Kwatt. Does this car have 2 charging ports?. How about the size of a charging cable. My arc welder is only 250 amps. With a 1000 V charger, this vehicle would draw 560 amps. Less voltage would be higher current. Liquid cooled cable? Liquid cooled connectors?

    • @96Lauriz

Charger cables are already liquid cooled on the very fast chargers
In Europe we have 360kW chargers, and 250-300 is the norm now.

Network supplier allows somewhere between 2-5kw continuous supply per connection (which is why it can be difficult to obtain permission to connect over 3.6kw inverter )
UK regulations get nervous with voltages over 50v to earth outside with unskilled hands ( hence 110v construction equipment which is actually a centre tapped isolation transformer which is 55v to earth making 110v between phase and neutral)
I'm guessing you would need specially trained staff operating infrastructure built close to substations to deliver 560kw of charging safely
As a UK JIB gold card approved electrician qualified in '86 tell me what am i missing (side note I've installed upto 600 mm² trefoiled 3 phase 415v football stadium supplies which is 3 cables about the thickness of your arm and City water works supplies of 4core 400mm² which is about the size of your thigh, UK apartments are either wired in 25/35 or 50mm² single phase depending on the height of the apartment)
Even if this video is factually correct I know of no Safeway of delivering that kind of power via a flexible connection outside by untrained hands

    Too big!
The UK needs small, affordable EVs.
    Not sure about Australia though.

Does Australia even have one charger capable of those speeds?
Personally, I'd avoid using a supercharger purely for longevity, obviously if you're on a road trip you're going to use a supercharger but that is the exception, not the norm
These hyperfast charging speeds are largely irrelevant, they kill your battery, The infrastructure doesn't exist, and it's a rip-off

I heard that raccoons and squirrels think Tesla Cybertruck is a garbage dumpster and are persistent at scratching any body part that looks like it can opened - causing a lot of cosmetic damage.

Anything above 400 mile range is inefficient.

But it’s efficient to wait 1-2 hours to charge in LA during the holiday on a road trip ? 😂 , I prefer 500-600 miles range

@@curiouspeople6441 Yes. Unless you get your car just to go on holiday, you’re carrying around dead weight.

The leather free interior is about respect, those animals are mammals just like the humans, they make bonds and families in the same way. The difference between the human DNA and those other mammals like cattle or pigs is less than 0.01%. Would you use the skin of your dog inside your car, or human skin - probably not. As I'm sure most of you would not kill a precious sentient being like those every day to make food. They are just like dogs or cats, no difference at all. I really hope that you all can see this and become free of this karma.

Why the obsession with fast EV's? None of these will go to a racetrack for the vast majority of owners.
We all have very draconian speed limits (Germany excepted) so acceleration needs are more about ego than any logic.
Fast charging on the other hand is far more useful and negates the need to have BIG batteries.
When you think about SUV's on road trips you think kids, spouse etc needing toilet breaks fairly regularly and 15-20 minute recharge stops would work perfectly.
Zeekr do need to turn profit at some stage though & if not, will become irrelevent.

Tesla facing charges of violating US federal and state anti-trust laws. Making repairs nearly impossible violates implied warranty principle, too; that's introductory contract law.
