Skinny Weak Vegan? How I gained weight

  • In the picture on the left I weighed 115 lbs. In the picture on the right I weigh 155 lbs. After 3.5 years of eating a raw vegan fruit based diet, and hundreds of days only drinking Juice, I healed many of my health issues, but I still couldn't gain weight. Everyone told me I needed to eat more, not aware that I was already eating 2000-4000 calories per day. Many other people told me I was skinny and weak because I wasn't eating meat, unaware of the fact that I ate a heavy meat, egg, cheese, and milk diet for 32 years of my life and even ate a carnivore, and RAW carnivore diet for 6 months before even going raw vegan. I had tried everything.
    You can gain plenty of weight and muscle eating only raw vegan food (and only fruit) and the people who say you can't have obviously just never done the research to see the people who have because there are thousands among thousands of amazingly strong, ripped, buff and healthy LONG TERM raw vegans who are some of the healthiest people I know with zero health issues (and even more buff looking cooked food Vegans) So its is very obvious that it has nothing to do with the lack of meat in my diet.
    This is how I gained weight still eating a fruit based diet after not being able to make any gains for several years of eating only 100% raw living foods.

    Thanks for this great video. I'm having trouble gaining weight. It's been a long, difficult healing journey for me too, but wow, the energy, happiness, and removal of pain and other symptoms, has made it all worthwhile, and I plan to keep going until I also can do long fasts without symptoms (and can gain weight easily.)

    Well said Jeff, its not a deficiency issue its an absorption issue. Without deep healing, juicing, fasting the detox/deprogramming cannot occur, thus why most fail.

    Hey Jeff!
    Nice to see your post more videos! Your journey is so inspiring! I fit in the same category too... It's nice to emphasize the long journey some of us might encounter on that journey.
    When you mention the juice fast, did you use the mix bentonite/psillium?
    So you got weight, after your water fast, while staying low fat? Less than 10%??
    When you organize your next water fast and plan to do a retreat, I would like to be part of. How could I reach you?
    Don't give a shit about people say. You are inspiring and commited.

    Hi, I'm wandering why deny the microbiome the fruit fibre when a healthy microbiome is supposed to be key to a healthy system. Is it to take out the bulk so you consume more? Would it not make sense to add at least some of the juice pulp back in?

    • @koalamama2
      @koalamama2 Před rokem

      When you do a juice fast your hunger mechanism is completely turned off, whereas if you do smoothies, it's not. Removing the fiber allows your digestive tract to take a break and go into reccovery mode while absorbing nutrients passively. Doing extended fasts reset your microbiome in a healthy way, which is a big part of the magic that gives you pristine digestion when you're done.

  • @Nata-ch2bk
    @Nata-ch2bk Před rokem

    Your story seems similar to that of Thierry Casasnovas, a french guy who makes youtube videos about fasting, juice fasting and all that lifestyle. He’s kinda known in France now and has about 600k subs.
    He started making videos about 12 years ago, and some of his first videos are him very skinny in Thailand eating tons of fruit calories and not gaining weight, but then he got into a lot of fasting, juice fasting, etc and it healed his digestive tract so that he was able to better absorb his food and get back to a normal weight, and for a good number of years now he’s been promoting fasting and juicing. One small difference I think though, he doesn’t necessarily promote a vegan diet, although he does recommend a high fruits and veggies raw diet. He advocates more for intuitive eating, so that doesn’t necessarily exclude all animal products, as long as it’s raw.
    I’m also on the skinny with weak (pretty bad) digestion side of things. (1.75m ~56 kg, with no capacity to gain weight on any kind of diet).
    As opposed to a lot of people who go into juicing because they want to lose weight, I’m actually recently getting into juicing in order to, further down the line, hopefully gain weight. My normal weight when I was younger and still healthy was around 65kg. So I appreciate all the info I can get about juicing, especially from the point of view of people that recovered from being underweight with weak digestion. 👍

      unnecessary processed crap that is harmful and you don't need if you're willing to detox yourself and eat a well balanced raw diet :)

    • @koalamama2
      @koalamama2 Před rokem

      @@BlazeBoxing People water fast no matter what diet they're on - SAD, carnivore, anything. But if you're unhealthy and have been on pharmaceuticals a lot over the years you'd want to go slow. You could clean up your diet first, then do smoothies, then juices, then water. Or you could go straight to water but start with 24 hrs, then a couple weeks later go for 48, etc. Also personally, I love supplements and they have made my detoxes so much more comfortable. For example, I had arrhythmia for an entire juice fast once and now I know to just use vitamin/mineral patches. Also, the first time I went high carb raw vegan, my adrenals were toast so I couldn't control my blood sugar and the diet was really hard on my body. I took adrenal glandulars and was able to adapt to the diet in days instead of months. Then my healing was complete in months instead of years.

    I'm new too long fasting ... just bought the nama j2 and healing diabetes, eye issues , nueropsthy. Do you think a mono fruit juice cleanse(watermelon) would be good like 4(33) ounce jars. Also i'm 122 lbs at 5'7" , but I know i'm not healed and want to fully heal. I also work night shift which my job is alot of walking and lifting.

    • @koalamama2
      @koalamama2 Před rokem +1

      Watermelon would be perfect for yoru vision problems. I would add B-vitamin patches to help the neuropathy. I also found that green juices gave me blood sugar problems so i had to stick with fruit only for the last half of my juice fast, so I do think watermelon would work great for you. My only concern is, are you allowed to take as many pee breaks as you need to? Maybe since you're on nights the answer is yes.

    It is not only bicep muscle that gets eaten by the body when fasting but the biggest muscle: the heart. Be careful telling someone who’s underweight to fast. They may be anorexic without knowing, keep losing weight still believing they have body fat left to survive on and die of starvation. Electrolytes can get out of balance from lack of sodium or potassium leading to server heart, bone and brain problems risking death.
    Agree with this more than I do a dr, just be safe. It can be better for one who’s underweight to drink the over 3000 to even 6000 cals or more from juice or fruit needed in access as the body catches up and restores before further depleting with a water fast. I personally needed above 6000 calories in hospital bed rest to gain as a hard gainer including an ng tube.
    Do you think this was the body needing that much to restore from under eating and repair tissue or just not absorbing it and a gentler approach would have been the break then possibly less to gain? Wouldn’t the initial gain of solid food just be water weight from consuming carboHYDRATES again anyway? Let me know your thoughts and thank you for speaking truth.

    What about dry fasting?

    • @jeffjuices
      @jeffjuices  Před rokem +3

      absolutely not. I do not recommend dry fasting of any kind. this is the opposite of detoxification, and only further dehydrates an already dehydrated body. if you have mucoid plaque, this would make the plaque even more dehydrated and further from getting eliminated. the reason this works so well, is because you are drinking loads of water, the right amount, and it rehydrates the old material enough so the body can properly eliminate it.
      without enough water in the body the body cannot build enough blood and the bodies eliminative channels do not work properly, thus why so many long term raw vegans have diet dry fasting

      All dry fasting does is suppress symptoms because the water required to keep certain healing processes go is missing.
