- If you are going to Hawaii and end up on Molokai then you have to check out the main street in Kaunakakai. Original and full of charm. Totally cool and laid back. There is no stress in this town. Interesting place where they have a few stores. There are a couple of small and local restaurants in town as well.
Lived there for a few years, way back in 1993. My mom was a teacher I'm town, and I worked at the now defunct Kalua Koi resort on the west end.
The island is still very nice and different from the other islands. A great place not yet destroyed by tourists.
Walking the "back" streets are fun. Manilla camp, Ranch camp. Good times. Hard to beat main street. The park and harbour. Lived on the western end before I had to move back to Mainland. A shout out to Kimo Nakii. A good friend and brother.
I miss you Molokai, I miss Midnight inn, Kanamitsu bakery, and all my Friends and family, love you Molokai
A great island to visit!
@@SwedishVideoGuy that's my home
A really nice place!
Hard to beat Turkey tails at Kanimitsu bakery.
Great place!
Lived there right below the hospital in the teacher cottages.
Very cool!
friendly market center is molokai
primary store for food its very small
I have recently Watched your visit to Kaunakakai, Molokai -where I once lived long ago.
Rich tourists buy art and ship it back to the mainland. I was in Kauai in 2005 and regret not buying an overpriced piece of art that was just so unique and cool. Would never find it anyplace else. Still regret it. There is no middle class in these outer islands(like most of Hawaii) but there are plenty of rich with lots of disposable income. The locals know how to take advantage.
Well, at least you went to beautiful Kauai and had a great time!
I can't wait to go there! 2020!!!
You will enjoy every second!
I am going to be there next week!!
That sounds great! Have fun there!
You should have visited the gravesite of St. Damien of Molokai. The people of Hawaii greatly honor him.
I did ... I went to Kalaupapa. I posted two videos from there. A very interesting place for sure!

THE BEST HOT BREAD ON THE PLANET!
Well hidden yet the very best!
Kanemitsu Bakery da bomb. Turkey tails and rice! Most testy
Best sweet bread of all the islands👍
been there in Dec 2005 for 3 weeks
Like going back in time!
Been there 2003 living in town. Ranch camp, Manilka camp
Manilla camp. Probably a reference to my Asian friends.
Any vegan shops out there? I'd love to see a Falafel Brothers open up on island... It's already in Japan!
I have not seen any. Very few places to eat on Molokai.
@@SwedishVideoGuy there are a lot of places bro
Yes, there are a lot of places like the pizza cafe they sell a delicious chef salad
I bet you crime in the county is '0' compared to the rest of the chain.....especially oahu.
100% true!
I clicked 'dislike' for the first part of this film. I am just back from Molokai and I really didn't think you did credit to the Main Street, and the film could have done with some serious editing. However, the video really improved when you started walking round the back streets, past the bakery and into the residential area of the locals. That was very interesting to me and showed places I had not seen. So I will change my dislike to 'Like'. Thank you.
Hello. I am glad you changed it. I figure you you have a fantastic trip to Molokai. A pretty cool and interesting place!
