- Hey friends! This week we are in Exmouth and on the Ningaloo Reef, in Western Australia. We'd heard a lot about this area, it's one of those epic vanlife spots, where people come and have trouble ever leaving! We love being back on the coast, and now we know what they mean about WA having some of the best beaches!
We snorkel with the abundant marine life on the Ningaloo Reef, go kitesurfing in crystal clear turquoise water, and enjoy life on the coast. Our one goal was to see turtles here, and let's just say we were not disappointed! We have one of the most incredible nature experiences of our lives, as we see turtles mating, and a female preparing a nest to lay her eggs.
Please consider subscribing to our channel, it really helps us out!

Thanks Nigel and Sue. It was such a pleasure to be able to re-live my time in the Cape Range. I've never forgotten my Ningaloo experiences. Your pleasure was palpable. Judy, Nelson Bay.
Isn’t it just such a magical place? I’ve been here for a month now while Nigel has been away working. I almost don’t want to leave. Though it’s getting super hot! When were you here?
Awwww swimming with the turtles 🐢 🥺🥺🥺SO beautiful! Magical magical 🌞
You’re going to love it up there. When will you be there?
@@nigelandsueadventures We are thinking possibly next month.....
@@living.simple_van you will love it!
Thanks for the great belly laughs about trying to get out of bed post kitesurfing 😂
The struggle is real!!
@nigelandsueadventures Yes, can really relate... and have lotsa empathy!
You guys are so lucky having each other and enjoying each other’s life. So happy for you both. I had it twice and lost it twice. But I do enjoy sharing your videos. Thanks oxox ❤and thanks Nigel I love how you make me happy and laugh 😂I should add how lovely you are Sue ox
Thanks Patrick, we are very grateful to have you along for the journey and happy that we can bring some joy and laughs to your day
Fabulous snorkelling and beautiful turquoise colour of that sea 😍 What an amazing experience seeing the turtle laying her eggs! We’ve also been lucky to swim with turtles, it’s a magical experience, we’ve yet to see one laying eggs 💛
Where did you swim with turtles? We just need to see the hatchlings now. That would be the ultimate!
@@nigelandsueadventures we were luck to swim with them in the Maldives and also saw the green sea turtles in Turkey 😍❤️
@@travelswithforrestflo1239 I loved Turkey, though I was there in the winter. Haven’t been to the Maldives yet
What an amazing experience!
Thanks Nick!! We will never tire of swimming with turtles!
Wow, how good was that. Seeing those turtles is very special. They were quite relaxed swimming with you too. Well done.
It’s like they don’t even realise we are there! We’ve swum with them so many times now, I swear you could crash into them and they wouldn’t notice!!
WoW 🐢 fabulous experience, great video. Loved the snorkeling to.
On our list to get there and see it all for ourselves 😊
Oh you’ll love it! People come here and never want to leave!
17:07 great video guys. Cant wait to see all those places and yes I’m very jealous of that beautiful water.
I need to learn how to snorkel. 😂😂
It’s not that difficult Simon, and the good thing if you’re that at Exmouth is that the coral, fish and turtles are in really shallow water.
How wonderful! Will have to get there!
So many adventures to have over here Jules, you will love it!
Loved it there
Oh us too! We never want to leave 🧡🧡
Really loved the underwater shots. Just beautiful. The West Coat and sunsets are just lovely. Great to catch the turtles too. Very special. Are you guys not concerned about sharks over on that west coast?
Not up here, just reef sharks and they are pretty harmless
@@nigelandsueadventures yes they would be. Good to know. There’s a lot of big ones down south. My husband was working at Albany hospital when they brought a young bloke in who had been attacked but survived luckily.
@@LynneCarey yeah that’s scary! I know there’s a lot down south
Super vlog guys, so close to nature.... your vlogs always cheers me up especially the Australian weather... 5 degrees Celsius in Ireland right now ❄ ❄
Thanks so much for watching Martin! How are you? Haven’t seen you online for a while.
@@nigelandsueadventures been a while alright, hadn’t been a great year so took some time away. Glad to be back watching again 👍
@@Workshop-of-Allsorts hope things are looking up for you now Martin 🧡🧡
Stunning! Turquoise bay looks breathtaking - very aptly named. How do you go with snornelling in water out of your depth Sue? Is it just the dark water holes you don't like? I'm a sook with any deep (& cold) water!!
This water doesn’t bother me. It’s definitely just the dark water I don’t like. When I can’t see what’s in there. And in fact, the reef is only in about 6-10 feet of water anyways!
Hi, where exactly did you go kite surfing? Amazing seeing and experiencing a turtle in the wild
Hi Kathleen, we went kiting at Sandy Bay in the Cape Range NP. It’s a beautiful flat water spot.
We saw so many turtles around that area!
Thanks for watching 😃
Thanks for your responses.
Last question, interested in wave sailing. What are your top 3 spots in Oz for windsurfing please?
Not sure about windsurfing, but our top kitesurfing spots would be Sandy Bay WA, Archer Point near Cooktown Qld, and Woodgate BEach (also Qld)
Looks amazing! For us non Aussies what kind of turtles are they?
We have green, loggerhead and hornbill. I think these are green… or maybe loggerhead?
Great video! We're going there in a couple of weeks. Which month did you go? Was the sea cold (you were wearing a wetsuit at one point)? Thank you, now off to watch your other videos!
Thanks so much! We were there from late October through November. The sea wasn’t too bad, I wore a wetsuit when staying in there for a while snorkelling. But I really feel the cold. Lots of other people weren’t wearing one.
Where did you camp while on the ningaloo?
We stayed in a couple of the National Park campsites , our favourite was Osprey Bay.
We may have also wild camped for a night or two, but don’t tell the ranger!!
Good choice of music for footage of dead coral. It's dying out quick 😪
It’s sad to see, but I reckon I saw more living coral here than I did on the Great Barrier Reef 20 years ago!
@@nigelandsueadventures that is very sad indeed
If you swim out a couple of hundred meters the coral is perfect and very colourful unlike near the shore where tourists have destroyed it.
@@levey2 good to know. We were super careful not to touch it whenever we were snorkelling, but it’s so shallow in places!
