- Went out with my friend nola to try out a new camera, a 1951 kodak retina ia and shot it with a roll of kodak tmax 100. This was my first time ever shooting this camera and the tmax 100, and for the first time ever shooting zone focusing.
We came back to nola's darkroom studio for him to help develop the film for me as well as learn from him. I hope you enjoy this episode and I will see you guys in the next video!

The Kodak Retina cameras made by Nagel Kamerawerke in Suttgart, Germany are true classics. And we see more videos and sample photos being posted in CZcams, which is great. Well-made, great lenses and very compact, these 35mm Kodak Retinas are a gem. Have developed film myself, but I think you have to have enough film/shooting to make it cost-effective. Nice to see people still interested in film photography.❤❤😊
It was a super fun camera to shoot for sure! Thanks for watching mate
Loving the b-roll in the beginning & the photos came out amazing!
Thank you!
That Tmax formula development 🧖🏼
Great video and pictures. 👍
Thank you Marco!
Nice video Edmund. It’s been 35 years since I have developed film. Can’t say that I have missed it. Thanks again. Karl
Haha thanks Karl, it's so much fun. I enjoy the process!
Cool to see you getting more into film. It’s amazing how well some of those old cameras still work. I’m afraid that won’t be said about digital 50, 60, or even 70 years from now. Thanks for sharing once again!
Thanks Dave, yeah I have always love shooting film since I started it. Mat and I are planning on shooting on Aug 5 in columbus if you'd be free to join.
Definitely! Just let me know the time and place and I will make myself free, thanks!
Will be after 3pm and definitely be downtown
We still on for around 3pm today downtown? I plan on coming down...
nice shots.
Thank you Rafael! Appreciate it!
Hello! Beautiful photos and beautiful development process, I have been thinking for a while about learning to develop and I will do this.
Yesterday I bought for 20 euros from a friend, who saw me with my Spotmatic, two cameras he had at home, found in an old garage, a Retinette 1A without rangefinder or light meter and a Zeiss Ikon with only the exposure meter. Both for only 20 euros.
I loaded a film into the Zeiss Ikon to see how it behaves and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
I need a light meter and a range finder.
:D
Hello from Italy!
Hello, that’s awesome. Yeah developing film at home is a great learning process and fun when you get use to it. Have fun with them cameras and enjoy the process!
@@EdmundKBoateng I'll do it! Thanks!
Nice work! I have a 1a that I acquired today and also a 119 I did a video of too. It is so much fun to shoot these!!
Such a beautiful camera! Thanks for watching!
Beautifull! At what f do you shoot? Cause this Rettina have not to do focus reference. Its estimated. I just bought one and im looking for references. Regards
I choose f stop depending on the subject and exposure
I just found this camera in my grandpas basement!
That’s amazing, I loved shooting with that camera, sad I don’t have it anymore. Enjoy it!!!
