Great Video ❤! You’re probably gonna wanna add a part two video once you hear about the Spirit Keepers Tarot!!! it is IMHP the greatest Tarot guidebook of all time! It’s close to 800 pages in color with every tarot reference you can possibly imagine. The author also wrote close to a 400 page workbook in addition to the guidebook!!! the books and the cards just blow my mind every time I use it. Benebel Wen has several versions of his deck, but the best one is the current version Revelations because she adds in the correspondences of the I Ching. Check it out as I think you’ll love it 🌈🤗🙏🏾.
As far as I know, the Tantric Dakini was the first collage deck. It was first published in 1979, and Voyager was published a decade later. If anyone knows of an older one, I’d love to know about it. I’m a collage deck enthusiast.
Oh cool! I always forget about the Tantric Dakini when I'm thinking about tarot, but of course it was published earlier. I love collage too, that's actually the video that's going up today!
Okay, I found an older collage tarot deck than the Voyager. The Dalí Tarot is an analogue mixed-media collage deck first released in 1984. Salvador Dalí used both his own, and classical works of art as components for the collages. I just got a copy of the newer edition that was released in 2019. I love surrealism, and Dalí is one of my favorite artists, so I love it!
🐝 save the bees! 🐝 I’ve been saving this video for when I had time to luxuriate in all the bookish goodness and it did not disappoint ✨ Edit: I need to keep an eye out for the Cat People, that level of world building is my kryptonite.
I enjoyed this very much, a refreshing look at LWB/companion books and I would say sometimes I have bought a deck purely because the companion book has come highly recommended.
I am studying Phantasmagoria now ☺️ and I am having a great time! I have decided to read the whole thing before using the deck (it is my first time doing this, and I think I am going to make it a habit).
That's such a good idea - I've been meaning to do that with a few decks, but need to make a point of making time to read them. Especially Phantasmagoria, I feel like I haven't scratched the surface.
I love this video! I want to shout-out the Zerner/Farber Tarot, AKA the Enchanted Tarot (same art, different cards), because that guidebook is amazing! It's a big ol Llewellyn sized book with really helpful entries that cover multiple applications or interpretations of the cards. I also really like the guidebook for the Wyspell deck called Neoteric Feminine Tarot. It's Little Full Color Book that is SUPER beginner friendly. It largely ignores the esoteric but really helps you understand how to apply the meanings to real life in exchange. Very good for learning. Ofc I'd mention the Tarot of Vampyres but you beat me to it. I want to get into the Voyager Tarot so bad but I really believe it'd just piss me off like how the Wanderer's Tarot does. Excellent video, as always! Thank you for makin it.
Ooh yes I've heard good things about the guidebook with the newest edition! It's on my wishlist for that exact reason. Looking up the Neoteric Feminine Tarot now 👀
Each edition of the Zerner-Farber / Enchanted tarot has a totally different guidebook! My favourite is the one that comes with the unworkably huge anniversary edition; it points out all kinds of detail in the cards that I had never noticed before. The book with the latest, pocket edition is not nearly as good.
I like this type of content. Thanks for creating it.
Ooo so excited for this video! Nothing better than a good guidebook 😍
You get it 😌
I will 100% just buy a deck for the guidebook alone
Me too!

I truly agree!! Her guidebook and work book the book of maps is just phenomenal!!
Yes the Spirit Keepers has been on my radar for a while! I love how much work Benebell Wen puts into everything, it's inspiring
@@TarotMagpie When you get it let me know what you think! Blessings
I’m new to tarot and have learned that a good guidebook makes a huge difference 😅
It really does!

"Oh, do they all rhyme? How twee." 🤣 I could hear that in my own voice.
... and - "We made it all up. Make it work for you." 👏👍❤

I've definitely done that too, it's most of the reason I got the Tarot of Vampyres but then I fell in love with the cheesiness of the art
Do you have a video in which you detail the process you go through for a deck study?
I don't, but that's something that is in the works!
The cyberpunk novel 36 Streets (TR Napper) matches Eldritch Overload 📕 😮 did you see the symbols on Herbcrafters?
Adding 36 Streets to my TBR now!
Thank you , great information, always on the look for a guide book that describes what artists was thinking for deck .
It's always frustrating when they don't!
Great video! I love a good guidebook! Thanks! 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed!
