- In 1994 we got the popular beat-em-up "Maximum Carnage"! One year later we got it's sequel "Separation Anxiety"! Venom and Spider-Man must fight not only Carnage, but five deadly symbiote spawns, The Life Foundation and a group known as The Jury. Does this game improve on what Maximum Carnage accomplished? Or is it a cash-grab? Lets take a look!

i always thought the difficulty of maximum carnage was what kept me coming back. to this day i play through that one about once a year because of how fun and challenging the game was. plus the music was so good by green jelly. i remember renting separation anxiety once or twice as a kid with my older brother and it was kinda stupid because we would beat it in about an hour then just be like uh...now what do we do. GREAT VIDEO BROTHER KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! i want to see those subs at 100k and i always look forward to your videos!

I saw this in a magazine as a kid and really wanted to play it since I thought Maximum Carnage and the symbiotes were cool, but never ran into a copy of it. Fast forward a few years later I play it on an emulator for only 2 stages and realized I dodged a bullet!

my dad had this game, i felt maximum carnage was way too hard and made it not so fun and this game was wayy too easy lol. Its like they couldnt get it figured out
I always thought maximum carnage was easier than this one. Also played the crap outta maximum carnage, this one not so much.

When I was a kid I saw the case art on this game and thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. As a kid I thought Spider-man’s classic rouge’s gallery was pretty plane Jane and after having a ton of fun with Maximum carnage My thought process was carnage is cool and venom is cool so this will be even cooler look at all the symbiote villains!!!! When I played the game for the first time I thought it was the predecessor to maximum carnage not the sequel it wasn’t until years after that I found out it was a sequel whew boy what a drop in quality. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Don’t judge a game by it’s cover

Outside of the multiplayer aspect and the passwords, this game feels like it should have been released before Maximum Carnage. It's like multiplayer taxed the system or something, it was weird what happened here.
It DOES feel like a prequel. The gameplay was fixed to be a lot easier, but EVERYTHING else feels downgraded. It doesn’t make sense. 😔
Fun but extremely flawed game :/ I would love to see a openbor remake
Separation Anxiety that title is too close to 2021 not sure what that actually means in context to the game.
The game was based off of the 4 issue mini-series "Venom: Separation Anxiety".

@@TheAgingGamer hey I commend you for even doing that! I rented this slog back in the 90s and boy what a let down this was coming from MC. Huge downgrade in animation sprite work DKC pre rendered background trying to capitalize in the moment. Only plus this game had was co-op but only a True A-hole would punish their friends like that.

I am glad in this game they downgraded the difficulty quite a bit from Maximum Carnage. This is definitely the easier game.

I agree. This game is just totally dumpy compared to Maximum Carnage, and I'm not in love with that game either but it's better than this.
Yeah, Maximum Carnage has its issues too, so in theory Separation Anxiety should have fixed everything up and been an awesome game. Not sure what happened there 🤷🏻♂️
