Idk if Davis or Duncan will read this, but I hope all is well. I miss the pod (like everyone in this comment section), but you two are awesome. I used to listen to podcasts like this whenever I was in my business analytics class. You two kept me awake lol, I study space so business analytics was hella boring to me. I am unsure of how Duncan feels but I will say I always root to see him on the court. He mentioned he does whatever Spo tells him but keep hungry. Got that contract for a reason, it sucks to see this whole thing get shutdown, but do what y'all gotta do to keep yourselves happy. Life fulfillment is all that matters!
Hope everything is all good with you boys. Duncan keep your head up, shoot to get hot shoot to stay hot yktv. Davis, let’s get this pod back up, was one of the best out thetr
i would argue australian rules football tbh. they have to be strong in all the components of athleticism. Fast twitch like football / rugby, hand eye coordination like basketball and then on top of that they run like 20 km / 12 miles per game.
As a player of both in high school, football is the answer. In basketball athletic ability is big but height can easily overcome it. In football if you wanna play at a high level YPU HAVE TO BE AN ELITE ATHLETE not necessarily in basketball just look at luka
I think the NBA far an away has the best athletes in the world. It's becoming even more so with the demand for players to be able to play multiple positions. The demand for bigs that can't shoot or create shots is diminishing. You can't just be a big guy to make the NBA anymore. You've got to be able to run the floor, be able to pass, shoot, defend multiple positions. Football players are much more specialized than basketball players now.
Dunc, I hope you find an awesome team to play with, and more importantly, start. A team that needs a pure 3 point shooter. You would have continued to flourish with the Heat if they didnt bench you for Strus come playoff time. A lot of good that did. It messed up the starting team chemistry. And at playoff time? You start all season, team winning, breaking team three records, making the playoffs, and come playoff time they bench you for Strus? What a joke. I know you will be the best 3 pointer in the league if you get to start every game. I hope you are a starter every game with your new team.
football guys are more athletic but basketball guys are more skillful and talented.most of the football guys are just specialist but in basketball especially in todays game you have to do multiple things like dribbling shooting passing and playing defense regardless of your position which is extremely hard
I agree basketball players have to be really skilled. But the NFL hosts a combine every year. A lot of players get critiqued on their athleticism before they ever play a professional game.
NBA players make way more, have longer careers & take less damage. But u gotta have height + great coordination for basketball. If u have a choice ofc ur gonna play in the NBA. Iverson could've easily been a HOFer in the NFL. He even said he loved football more but he chose basketball instead.
nfl guys are most explosive athletes but that doesn't mean they can play basketball at the highest level but a lot basketball guys nba or college level easily can be a football player
I believe he's getting skill and athleticism like skill is something that can be taught like you could teach an unathletic 785lbs guy how to swing a golf club dribble a basketball and look coordinated it doesn't take necessarily an athlete to be coordinated but athleticism imo is a genetic spectrum we are all born with a different spectrum So all though we may be low on our particular spectrum we would show athleticism like Zion when he was out of shape and 310+ pounds you could see All though he was low on his athletic spectrum you could still see the athleticism of him and potential in it. Hmmmmm 🤔 not saying this to be sad to Zion but he's a good example of someone that by no means has he got bad skills but you could definitely say if he wasn't born with the athletic spectrum he was that skill set isn't what's taking him to the league as opposed to say kyrie like he could literally jump a 30" vert and really low metrics and show average to below average metrics athletically and you would pick him up because of his ability to dribble which is a skillet he learnt while training I mean you ain't picking kyrie because he's athletic as
@@Soul_of_ that narrative is wrong. Talking on video a couple hours every week or 2 is not taking away from basketball. When you watch TV at home is it taking away from your work? No.
My guy that’s Pat Connaughton, a top 1% athelete. He has a 42 inch vertical and was scouted to play in both the MLB and NBA. I think he knows a lil more about being athletic than you and me
after winning the nba finals this year, y’all gotta bring this podcast back on
Damn bro you quit doing the pod during the season? I know I hadn’t seen it suggested any lately. Just checking on ya bro. Keep working hard cousin

I guess his focus is elsewhere

Keep balling Dunc we need the pod back!
Whether the heat win or lose, whether duncan shoots well or not. This pod needs to return.
Definitely more athleticism in basketball. But strength definitely goes to NFL. Skill is incomparable.
nfl players are more atheltic in every aspect
Speed.
Football players are faster.

I don’t think so man. So sad

the more athletic you are, the easier the game is. i still agree but defense is athleticism and all the skills are unlocked more from athleticism
Retire from sports and do full time podcast

Strength doesn't matter nearly as much in basketball where as skill does. Lots of athletic guys who don't have the skill for the NBA.
I believe its boxing tbh
100m and 60m sprinters.
Basketball requires more fine tuned skill whereas Football is a much more physically dominated sport except for the QB, Receiver and Kicker position.

Dribbling and shooting a ball isn’t necessarily athleticism so of course a football player wouldn’t come in and be a crazy nba player
