He literally fooled on the pitch because he loved it. People talk about Cristianos body but in reality R9 had far stronger physique and strentgh. R9 has stronger physique and strength then Cristiano? I would take into consideration that R9 in his prime with 20 had more strength then Cristiano. If you watch older Cristiano Videos, you can see he was rocket fast as well. But I still would consider Cristiano as physically stronger, cause he's working so hard on his body, he never suffered any big injuries. This is why he can consider himself as one of the greatest of all time. Cause he's gifted with a lot of talent, but his work ethic made him perform on such a high level for such a long period of time. That's why I would never consider Ronaldinho as the greatest. Great piece of art, no question, but a huge lack of discipline.

Ronaldo was only a one-dimensional poacher who waited inside the penalty area. If you watch his games, you’ll notice he couldn’t dribble the defense and generate attack on his own. He didn’t have any technique, ball control, agility, balance, vision or creativity.

He got injured and didn't recover 100% because surgeons 20 years ago were unable to do what they can today. Playing against the best defenders in the world during an era where defenders were allowed to use excessive force whilst tacking didn't help either. Despite that this lad was one of the best strikers around for 6-8 years after suffering a injury that forced him to completely restructure his game. He won a world cup and scored hundred of goals without being able to play explosively as he had done prior to his injury in 99. Anyway it was an honour to watch this lad play football. He's one of the only players I've seen that operated on the same level as Messi n Ronaldo for a couple of years.
So unstoppable that he even dribbles goalkeepers. In his prime he was the best striker of all time. R9🔥

I love watching his content but at the same time I miss him so much. It's criminal that so many people nowadays talk about Messi or CR7 and say they are the greatest ever. Peak R9 was born for nothing else but to play football, every movement is so natural, and he has it all. explosive, speed, ball control at speed, 0 to 100 in a second, skills, finishing, vision, passing, strenght, he was the best player we'll ever see. If only he was able to sustain for a little longer without getting injured, peak R9 was only really a 4 year period and he was still so young he would've still improved upon that standard he set during 96-99.

OK, he won much less than Messi at club level, but in his prime (96-97-98) he was simply unstoppable. And his injuries actually strengthened his legend. The fact that he won the 2002 WC and the way he won it (top-scorer) felt so deeply right and just, like a fairytale...

Yeah - I remember reading about his injury and seeing it on the news. I wasn't a Brazil fan or an Inter fan but I really did just despair - I felt so bad for the guy and for football. It was like a Rocky film that he came back - maybe he wasn't quite as dynamic running with the ball, but his finishing and pace were still off the charts. What a player - what a human being.

All those beautiful feints, elásticos, quick change of direction that would fool any defender in those days, would strain his knees an on-godly amount. Day in and day out sometimes the knees can’t anymore. We saw what he was capable of and lived to be the best 9 in his time.

1995-1999 greatest pure Striker of all time pre-injury. In 2002-2004 post injury he had some renaissance years but just never quite the same again. He was amazing in the 90s and even after the injuries he was still better than a lot of players. It was a treat to watch him even when he was older and injured.
