    A quick price comparison between this (at the time of publishing, on sale for $279, normally around $329) and getting something like an Ender 3 V2 and upgrading it to have roughly the same specs:
    E3V2 - $259
    Direct Drive - $40
    Dual Z - $40
    Flex magnetic bed sheet - $12
    BL Touch - $48
    Runout sensor - $15
    Total - $404
    And you still will have a smaller print surface than the SV01 Pro (220x220x250 vs 280x240x300).
    The Ender 3 V2 had previously been my go-to for like 99% of my prints, and is a fantastic printer, but this has quickly replaced it for most of my printing due to the ease of use, quality of prints, and larger bed size. It really is a fantastic printer for most purposes, but especially 2A related ones.

    for 3d printing guns, do you need to buy the metal slide kits? or can you just 3d print it and install it on the lower for the gun? even if you can’t shoot it.

    This looks almost exactly like the ender s1, same leveling system and hot end setup as well as the magnetic build plate with the spring legs. Do you use the A5 paper method to get the z axis set correctly? Also do you notice any difference between leveling before a print and not leveling at all?

    It's comparable to the E3pro with the sprite direct drive. But $300 less. Now I wish I got this one. The thing I dislike about this printer is the basic stepper motor for the extruder.

      @freshcharge Před rokem +1

      @@darbodrake89 about the extruder? The sprite direct drive extruder stepper motor is smaller and lighter than the common ones used for the zed screw and X,Y. More weight on the print head means it can't run as fast without more errors.

    How would you compare it to a prusa mk3?

    • @booliganshootingsports
      @booliganshootingsports  Před rokem +1

      I've never used a Prusa, but if we're looking raw specs of something like the MK3S+, they share many of the same features. Auto bed leveling (touch vs sensor probe), direct drive, dual z screws, runout sensor, etc. The Prusa has a much smaller print area (250x210x210 compared to 280x240x300) and uses an 8 bit board vs the 32 bit board here. Prusa has some nice software, sure, but I'm not personally seeing any reason whatsoever to pay $800-1100 for the Prusa when this has all the same features and more for $280-320.

      @@robertb7003 the difference is reliability and backend support. A friend of mine runs a printing business and only uses prusa.
      Personally I've picked up a mk3s and an ender 3 s1. Despite moving 4 times I've only had to recalibrate the prusa once, the s1 I've been messing with several times and continues to have some weird software glitches. (The bed doesn't heat sometimes)
      Both printers I would recommend. Prusa does also have a calculator you can use to generate quotes off of models.
