Making a Monkeyopolis So Big It Breaks BTD6!

- We make a Monkyopolis so big that BTD6 stops responding. We did this by putting over 2000 farms at the top of a stack of pools, letting them all be in range of a Monkey City. Which absorbed all of them when we upgraded it to a Monkeyopolis. The Pool Stacking Bug has been in BTD6 for several years now, but has been top of mind ever since Ethan Reid made a video on it.

I believe that the cap on money amount is actually the integer limit, being 2,147,483,647
Yes, Tewtie made a video that showed this and when this limit is hit the money won't even decrease when you buy something as the game just thinks that the limit is infinite.

It is, hit it with the total transformation glitch back when it was a thing. Still got logs saved with that amount of money for a rainy day 😂

Yes and it goes to neg 2bi (wich is the smallest ineteger) if you try to surpass that
You could get this with the total transformation bug using infinit sniper ability and transforming him to plasma and super monkey
Neg money works almost as infinit money, it doesn't change and let you buy everything, but the paragons sliders remain at zero
(I guess that when the game tries to check if you have enough money to buy a monkey it overflows back to +2bi so it let's you do it. No idea why the money doesn't change tho)
Just to clarify, this bug has been in btd6 for years, i used this bug to make millions when a Paragon duplication were found. Awesome video as always :3
And they haven't also batted an eye how time stop doesn't affect paragons. Yeah I think NK forgot powers exist

the "loading" is just a hardcoded thing for when prices are too high. this was simply to solve the absurdly high prices showing due to multiplayer lag

3:41 actually, the number is loaded properly. However, there is a bug that made towers show absurd upgrade prices that went away fsst from time to time. The "loading" is just damage control for that bug
The only cap there is is the infamous 2,147,483,648. otherwise known as 2^31-1.

Arfter you place down a tower if you click without moving your mouse from where you placed it it will allow you to upgrade it even if it's covered by a bunch of other towers

The cap is at around 2 billion when it hits the 32 but integer limit. I got there on round 67 and my game was barely handling it.
Max money thet you can get is 32 bit integer limit, after that it becomes negative

Least broken btd6 bug
the game starts to do some funky stuff when you hit the 32 bit integer limit (2,147,483,647). It all just becomes negative (-2,147,483,647) and stops counting.
The fact that it makes you able to see over obstacles (and how neatly the pools line up) almost makes it seem intended lol.

its more than likely that the cash display will max at 2,147,483,647 or possibly 4,294,967,295 but given that pop counts on towers can go well past that with enough time (although unlikely given difficulty scaling in-game) we might never know. Challenge Editor maxes it at 999,999,999 but whether or not thats just a self-imposed cap or not is not something i know, would be interesting to actually test out

On pc, the limit is the long integer limit (9,223,372,036,854,775,807)
On mobile, however, it is the signed integer limit (2,147,483,647, but for some reason, I remember it being that but 600 instead of 647)

I actaully got the money cap when the total transformation bug was active.
It's on 2,147,483,647 and if you get one more you go to -2,147,483,648 (Yes, negative money)
The negative money allows me to buy anything and doesn't change no matter if I farm or spend. Basically infinit money but it's considered 0 for the paragons slides

Yep, that’s called an integer overflow. It happens when the computer can’t store the value correctly because there isn’t enough room in the code. That specific number 2,147,483,647 is the signed 32 bit integer limit, a 0 followed by 31 1s. Adding one to this confuses the computer as changing the first 0 to a 1 would make it negative which is what happened to you

Btw what i find curious is how it behaves with the negative money (i explained in the first coment) I guess they allow me to buy things because it probably subtracts the price of that thing from the money i have and check if it's positive but when it subtracts the money overflows back to positive. But I have no idea why it doesn't change, maybe that's ninja kiwi preventing bigger problems if anyone got negative money for any bug

I did this and the monkeyopolis and it cost 5m but I upgraded a bunch of farms to banana research facilitys and it sold for 8.7m and gave 57k per grate

I would assume the money counter is stored in 4 bytes, which would make the cap 4,294,967,295 (That's FFFF FFFF in hex).

I did this in my true lategame run, got it to 3 million, would've got more, but since i play on my phone, the lag was so unbelievably bad that i was afraid it would crash and i wouldn't be able to open it again.
In case anyone's wondering, most were upgraded to 4-2-0, each crate made around 50k, and it made around 500k per round. Sold it at some point because i was making temples but I'm pretty sure 60 million after getting all the temples is enough.

I still have a save on cubism from when this bug overlapped with the paragon duplication bug. I have 200+ level 1 boats stacked between 2 lake stacks.
It sits on round 2850 for now, i thought they patched this with the paragon dupe bug but I guess not lol
