The point of a retwist is just to catch up loose hairs into said loc. that doesn’t actually require a lot of manipulation. I always shake my head when people say after a rety their head hurts. Dear your head shouldn’t be hurting. If it is it means your loctitian is interlocking your hair all the way to your scalp and they don’t have to do that. When I rety my own head my head never hurts afterwards
I’m literally recovering from a tight retwist rn… I went to a loctitian to get a few locs combined bc I have too many and I regret not doing my own hair as usual 😂
Do you only rety locs or do you style them, too? My friend girl has semi bald edges due to her mom burning her scalp with a relaxer when she was little so she always wears her locs parted in the center and down. She has expressed to me she wouldn’t mind traveling to a stylist that could give her a different hairstyle. I’ll bring her to you as a gift. We’re only about 3.5 hrs away so it wouldn’t be a far drive. Would we need to do like a virtual consult first for you to see her edges? If so, I’m ready to pay and get to it!
I've had to shift some hairs because I've went a little longer to retwist my locs and I still don't have hair growing away from the loc. Also no a retwist shouldn't hurt.
I notice hair is grow away from the locs in my 10 year old daughter's hair. Her twin doesn't have that issue. What should i do to help get her hair back to healthy? She mentioned that she wants to cut her locs off eventually. Thank you for this video
Retwisting consistently and being careful not to cause breakage when retwisting will help train her to remain in her locs. I recommend my clients retwist every 4 to 6 weeks. I do recommend cutting them off when she's ready instead of combing them out. I've never seen a healthy Loc comb out

Hair INDEED can grow outside the locs when people skip maintenance. It doesn’t always naturally flow into the loc. All hair doesn’t operate the same. 🙄
@@AfrikanHairGod how do you prevent this? my hair is rather soft and fine and I notice that It dose this sometimes. The way I have seen some people clapping, slapping, flat hand twisting all hard and tight these locs!!!! BE GENTLE!!!! It shouldn’t hurt!!!!
Yeah that’s breakage if it’s “growing away” from the loc
Love the energy 😂😂😂 talk yo shit
Look how much alia's hair has grown! ❤
But the bungle look is all the rage 😂😂
Beautiful, juicy locs! Do your sh** , Narada! And yes you do know what your talking about! 🖤🖤🖤🔥🔥🔥
I tell my clients this all the time!
I love this man! He’s amazing when it come to natural hair.
This looks so good. I always wondered if the retwisting doesnt cause too much tension on fine hair but this looks beautiful and healthy.

Can we see an example of what "growing away from the loc" looks like

You do an awesome job as a beautician

Issue is I’M my own loctician😭😭 Maybe im the problem😭
Yeah, hair don’t be growing away from my locs. But I will say I do be noticing a few frizzy flyaways in the crown area 👀😅 lol.
I just smh when I see locs and the parts getting wider and wider.

I'm not using aphogee anymore
Can you say why please?
