Wow, we really don’t see consultations and problem solving like this anymore. I like how you didn’t put the client down while discussing her hair. When my hair use to be severely damaged, I had “stylists” poke fun at me and talk shit about my hair.
Even tried to tell me that going back to relax was better. 😤
@@anneel8115 Oh yea, I got that all the time. Some of em are lazy and delulu.
I was just telling a friend that i would love to meet a stylist that gives consultations like this very thorough
Will you be recording/posting her hair journey? I would love to see her progress as time goes on. At the same time I do realize that is totally up to her.
The bucket analogy is such a great one. I have the same issue, and hearing you explain it like that makes so much sense to me now. Thank you!
You are a special person. Wish that there were more stylists like you. ❤
I really enjoyed this video, so knowledgeable and balanced. I love how you focus on recovery and length retention at the same time.
Great consultation! You’re very knowledgeable and thorough. You gave her bad news with a gentle touch. So important!
Great consultation 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you so much for the education youre providing us. Ive been having a lot of issues with scalp irritation and shedding/breakage and Im learning so much from your channel!!!
You are so welcome!
So detailed and thorough! 🏆
A professional in the craft 🤌🏾💃🏾
That's a great consult!!
I wish I lived near you. I would def. Come in atleast 2x a year!
Thank you!
I like my hairdresser because she noticed that my hair has gotten thicker, or longer and she let's me know if I need a trim even if I don't ask if I'm ready. I am more than willing to pay her extra(for my region) because I know she is not going to do anything to my hair that might damage it and she is honest about what she can do.
Thanks for sharing this ❤
Thank you!
I went for a consultation and she prolly touched my hair twice. Once for sure was to take the bad out and the second time was to put it back in. She didn't run her fingers through my hair, examine in sections, and didnt report to me the health of my hair. I barely got anything more info than i already assumed coming into the appointment.
Granted she didnt charge me but i would preferred to pay for a thorough run down if what was going on.
My hairstylist has said that my hair is pretty healthy, but I noticed that my hair length has been stagnant for a while. The longest that I've gotten my hair to grow is between bra strap and mid-back. I was wondering if my hairstylist is catching all of the split ends which I suspect is the case because there is always some resistance towards the ends when I detangle it. I might have to fly down to you for a hair assessment.
You may need bloodwork done. When was your last physical? What doctors say is normal bloodwork may not be optimal for hair growth. Your hair regimen might be fine. You may need a trimming schedule too.
could be your terminal length
@@raelindashoates975 Yeah that could be it. I’m not complaining too much as I have some length. I wanted to get to waist length but it might not be possible.
@@jdbailey442 Last year bloodwork was fine everything was okay. This issue has been going on for about 2 years now. My hairstylist is pretty conservative when it comes to cutting or trimming hair even when you tell her it’s okay. She had gotten sued like 5 years ago for cutting too much of a client’s s hair and ever since then she’s been hesitant to cut off too much hair at once.
My hair is very dry I d have dermititis n my scalp and I do see a dermatologist and I'm on meds nixzoral but I use ketoconazole shampoo but I don't use hair grease
I need to try that medicated grease because I have dermatitis and I use medicated (antifungal) shampoo that is a bit harsh for my hair.
Sometimes it’s the environment that can cause damage
Do you mean like UV exposure?
@@LethalLemonLime maybe the mold in some apartments & the dry air in the apartments not sure about the blue ray
I have a lot of split ends that travel up the hair shaft. It’s heart breaking, as im not sure how to got to be that bad. Is it possible to gradually trim at the ends as my hair grows so that i don’t have to lose all the length?
Let me know if you have an answer. I’m currently experimenting with just mini twisting my hair with hair grease, washing every 3 weeks and redoing my twist before wash day. If you can’t wash mini twists due to tangles I’d suggest larger twists, I style my twist into a bun with a silk scrunchie and two pieces out in the front for some flare, my hair needs to recover. I’m growing out the damage but if you can get an immediate cut still, it’s better..
@@vastya.3255 Thank you! that’s exactly what i’m doing but with extensions. I remoisturize twice a week, and apply grease once a week. I’m gonna see how much growth there is, if any, in 3-4 months and decide how to go about trimming from there.
In exactly one year(January 2025). I plan to get my hair assessed and cut(Ik I will have to big chop) by you. How do I make this happen?
Is she dehydrated my hair it’s breaking but I think it’s caused by me not combing it every day it gets tangled in some spots
You shouldn’t be combing natural hair everyday, that is too much manipulation except if it is straight. Afrikan hair god has a video on detangling that really simplifies it, so you can try that to see how it helps your breakage. your hair might be breaking because of how it is being detangled or moisture retention or something else.
why would your hair be dehydrated due to not combing it everyday? your hair would be dehydrated because you're either not using anything to keep it hydrated or your hair is highly porous like the bucket with holes in his analogy. The high porosity probably would have been caused by mechanical damage. you need to figure out why your hair is tangling so much so you can fix that problem. The fix is not detangling your hair everyday btw.
