- U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, receive fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker flown by the 92nd Aerial Refueling Squadron from Fairchild Air Force Base, Wa., while both units participate in the Vigilant Shield 2017 Field Training Exercise 18 Oct., 2016, in the high arctic. VS17 is an annual exercise sponsored by The North American Aerospace Defense Command and led by Alaskan NORAD Region, in conjunction with Canadian NORAD Region and Continental NORAD Region, who undertake field training exercises aimed at improving operational capability in a bi-national environment. This year’s exercise sees NORAD building on previous years’ training successes when deploying air assets and personnel to the far north to exercise sovereignty operations in North America’s northern aerospace and in the high Arctic. This exercise provides crucial training opportunities for numerous military personnel with a variety of aircraft and assets from Canada and the United States to improve interoperability and to demonstrate NORAD’s ability to defend North America.

It's funny how they just have conversations as they're refueling as if it's just two people at the pump of a normal gas station
I remember being in one these while they were refueling a B2. They were talking to the pilots about Andrew Luck and the NFL. So gnarly.
they're just at a flying gas station haha!
Ya except they are about to kill people
Mills117 Luck retirement was for his good eh.
That's exactly what it is
Best airforce on this planet and we europeans and especially here in Eastern Europe, owe you so much! Stand proud, thanks for your service past or present! Greetings and respect from your humble NATO partner - Bulgaria

I'm always amazed at how something so difficult can be made to look easy, perhaps even fun, when you watch experts doing it.
Honestly, expertise/skill at any task, right down to folding clothes at The Gap, can be fascinating. How human beings get better at things with repetition is amazing.

What different? I'm not so easy to give up about my dream!!!
I love the video of the guys talking about how much they miss Chick-Fil-A
I wonder how many chickens get slaughtered to stock up all the Chik-Fil-As. They never really run out, nor does McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendys. Taco Bell never runs out too and all the grocery stores always have some sort of meat.

4:58 Just casually bantering about life and what they're doing at the weekends. Love it!
Thanks
Great video! I remember being in the AF JROTC in high school (1978-1982) and going to Pease AFB to fly in a KC-135. There were 5 of us and I picked the winning number and got to sit in the cockpit jumpseat for takeoff. We refueled FB-111's. It's a great memory!!
the f22 has such a futuristic design element, and its pure function over form.
More like Function AND Form. Beautiful, yet deadly
Damn, how cool is this!! I live not far from here, in Alaska. I watch these F-22's every time they're in the air ... have at times been in wilderness doing fishing or hunting and these Raptors -- and A-10's from a different air base near Fairbanks -- will come in low right above the trees, it's incredible! I've got some very cool video footage of these jets. Thanks for posting such a great video

I love our Air Force! Proud to be an American!!
I can only read that in aladeens voice
enjoy it while it last once the space force rolls in goodbye navy and air force
Barri Flores I disagree, there are some things only an Air Force and a navy can do
Barri Flores the Air Force specializes in cyber warfare, and all types of aerospace warfare including space and more that I can’t remember as of now

I kinda wish the person editing the video didn't cut out so much of their talk about hiking. It was pretty cool!
I'd give my left and right testicles to fly one of those F-22s for a few hours. Amazing airplane
Drop in bowl please.
These dudes are awesome pilots. To me this is the most critical part of their service, they have to load the planes midflight, any mistake and there might be a huge problem. They have to keep their concentration and their focus, just to align and get there is quite difficult.
God bless those guys who play their role ensuring peace in the world.
Elmendorf Air force base is the best place to visit and see the raptors and other planes take off and land. Will never get bored seeing them fly over my house
0:35 the Apple logo on his headset 😂
It makes it 10 times more costlier.
With Me Being An Ex Army Guy , I Just Appreciate Our Men & Women In The Air Force And The Job They Do & At One Time I Think Robins AFB In Warner Robins , Ga Had A KC 135 Unit Based Out Of There , Great Job Guys 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲👍✌️
I think the f22 raptor is the coolests looking fighter jet
Much respect to all involved in our nations defense!!!!!’
Gotta love U.S. military pilots, massive self-confidence and egos, but nice guys. That is a combination that doesn't come together very often. My best friend's father is a retired KC-135 Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and I was just a lowly E-4 radarman in the U.S. Navy, but he talks to me with respect all the time.
I can tell this is Elmondorf (hope I got the spelling right). My son was stationed there. His MOS was Security Force. What a beautiful Air force base and territory. My wife and I spent 10 days there. Did a Patrol car ride along with my son on base. Had a blast.
When that AF WAC took off, it looked like it was heading straight into the mountains!! Same with this tanker aircraft....the mountains just LOOM ahead and it looks like they'll never make it over 'em! I'm a 63 yr old woman who know hardly anything about my own U.S. Military, but I LOVE this stuff, and I'm trying to learn. They say it's "never too late", eh...??!!!!! 🕊❤ Sincerely, 🌟💫💛
If you ever get a chance to go to Alaska check out Elmondorf AFB. It is a fantastic base (although I was lucky enough to have a Government Clearance and it would be hard to get on) and the countryside is amazing. The mountains are unbelievable. They are huge and snow covered. The place is unreal.
F22 is such a beautiful Bird.
only the best of the best flies F22
NemesisMusic2010 it completely true
NemesisMusic2010 there’s is a big party they throw and pretty much they allow the pilots to choose their aircraft based on their scores in base flight testing so if you get the best score you pick first
Well it depends. Sometimes the best pick heavies (c-17, c-5) because their end goal for their aviation career is to fly in the Airlines.
Patrick Jones ya. But I mean if i was that good i would still fly a fighter, since u would get flight hours either way
We know you have choices for aerial refueling, and we thank you for choosing the 927th Air Refueling Wing!
"Welcome to air McDonald's may I take your order?"....these videos are sooo frickin awesome! Imagine if they allowed a 10 year old boy or girl on board to watch? All their Christmas' and birthdays presents all in one!
I love our troops, amazing tech and bad ass video footage, thanks for that!
So what are you plans for the weekend?
From Venezuela... god bless USA... i love
How's your day going? Dude I'm flying a F22 my day is awesome!
Reminds me of my first time, awkward conversation, one position, lasted 2 minutes, left right after.
Was she a hooker? :D
I'm going to assume this is NOT a reference to aerial refueling
Most STUNNING things made by Human..
When you see aircraft flying always wondering how all that's metals fly

I love that base, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska!
Jet: can I get some gas
Boom: yeah on the boom
Jet: so how’s you day bin
Boom: almost like yours, just flying you know
Jet: yeah, my ass hurts of sitting in a jet in about 9 hours
Boom: we have some okay seats
Jet: I think my seat having an imprint of my ass
Boom: yeah I know that feeling
Boom: you full
Jet: okay
Boom: take care of your ass
Jet: okay I’ll vil do bye
Boom: bye
😂
We live in a sick world where good men and women like them have to risk their lives everyday.
F22: hi 1000 lbs of fuel plz.
Boom: yea man
F22 while it's filling can I would like to buy some gum
Boom: here it's on the house
F22: cool thanks man see ya
“On the house thanks for your service”
How's your day going? Duh. He's flying an F22 Raptor. How can there be a bad day when your doing that? Much respect to our people in uniform. Heart felt thanks.
8:03 beautiful sight right there. 2 absolutely amazing looking birds. Take a pic of that and anybody who wants to mess with the US just send them that picture with a caption that says " now imagine a squadron of these.....come get some"
Love the F-22. My favorite jet right next to the F-14 Tomcat
excellent taste. In terms of aircraft that were actually produced, the F-4 and F-14 are two of my favorites. My all time favorite, however is the X-29.
The sight of freedom!!! USA USA USA USA USA!!!!!!
“Air Refueling- all contacts observed were straight into the receptacle. Good boom control; good communications. Clean disconnects, no discrepancies noted.” Q-1
That cockpit looks beat up like something out of WW2
Craig McGary it flies does it?
considering it was designed in the early to mid 50s it’s not a shock! the plane was at least 50 years old then, probably older.
I live behind Elmendorf love seeing these planes.
This is really cool to see they are refueling above where I live :)
The Raptors Canopy!!!! Sooooo Shlick
Just like car driver talking to a gas station employee while fueling his ride lol
I miss being stationed here :( 2014-2017
Looks like such a great job. If I could get out of my country and into America, I'd gladly join the airforce (if they allow non Americans to join)
I really hope I can be an F-22 pilot!!! GO USAF
Sorry to burst your bubble buddy, no chance
Listeed Thanks! Wow I bet your life must be great, not working hard for your dreams even though you know there is a big chance you won’t making.
Also who are you to tell me what I can and can not do?

Just casual chat in the military you only refueling an 100million dollar plane in mid flight
$150m
hmmmmm......check again DB......last check.....$334,000,000.00 PER EACH UNIT.
Cheetah OBX whered you get that info? a raptor is 150mil/ea
Its the heavenly version of the water jug at the office.
Spreading the love
That's one place to put an Apple sticker 😂
Reading comments for a moment, I looked up to see 1:48 and thought the pilot was removing a parking ticket from the windshield before realizing he was still in an aircraft.
The real heros!🇺🇸
"How's your day going ?" Fucking zoomies :) much love from an old Army dog.
God, the agility of those raptors is amazing. They just pulled away with such graceful movement that required so little of the pilot.
..... all they did was roll to the right. I don't see what agility has to do with a simple roll. Doesn't matter what plane it is it doesn't take much to simply roll right.
Those raptors are siiick
this is so cool...i want to enlist just to become one of these guys...!!
Amazing touch on the boom! Great Job mate!!
This is what makes America the best country. When Americans get their shit together build some of humanitys most modern marvels.
This F-22 raptor, absurdly much more advanced than anything the rest of the countrys can produce, was even accidentally too advanced for even the highly trained pilots could handle for a little while, is technology developed and built 30 years ago.
Able to build tech that's decades more advanced than the rest of the world combined.
NASA. Moon landing. Reusable spaceships. Reusable rockets. Intercontinental air travel. Nuclear energy. Etc.
They flew right over my house
So this is how F22s are born
.
2:35 No way he put an apple sticker on that 😂
Interesting how one of the last Raptor pilots appeared to be backing like a truck driver and checking over his shoulder for traffic.
Gotta obey the traffic laws. Otherwise the cops might've got him.
Best of the best flying that ride
02:49 that's where you should put your apple sticker on
A Freaking F-22 Raptor Pilot ! Now that’s a Bad Ass!!!
4:53 lol I think that "Traffic" call out was the E-TCAS warning them of a close by aircraft! I could be wrong but that's what it sounded like to me.
They need to be more f-22s in the future
Gorgeous planes!
OMG airplanes having sex. wow
The good ol mile high club :)
So this is how baby raptors are made.
927ARW, my old unit when they were in Michigan.
This might look like an odd question, but is it normal to have that annoying static tone in the comms line when the pilot talks? I have normally listens to other planes using comms, but it does not appear to be present when they activate their mic to talk.
I miss Alaska. I miss JBER. I miss the mountains. Most importantly, I miss the Raptors.
If you take a look at the boom ruddervators are marked 6AMW/127th AREFS which is a MacDill based bird
Ken Clark 6:16
Close up of the guys in raptors look like they are built into the plane, love to know what their HUD is like through the visor, keep imagining its like predators thermal imaging. I know the F35 helmet visor allows the pilot to look through their plane like its not there.
I miss Alaska the mountains, the salmon, and the Raptors.

"Pretty baller"
these videos are pretty funny, sure made my day
Coolest guys on the god damn planet!!! Best jobs ever!!!
Well done fellas!!!
He said "RAMROD"....Farva would be thrilled
F-22 is the best but there are like 1000 F-15s and less than 200 raptors
too expensive :(

F22 is an all-weather fighter ignorant
Cobalt I hope the new president would make new fighters or something to replace the successful but aging F-15s and F-16s
Why do the headphones have Apple logos?
beautiful aircraft
I’m clueless here. What are the missions these jets are on that they need to stay in the sky so long they must refuel in air? Is it distance or patrol ?

F-22 still my favorite plane. 😘 💋. ✈️.

Wonder how many gallons on average they put into each fighter ?
